Southwest Key is a national nonprofit organization committed to keeping kids out of institutions and home with their families, in their communities.
Our kids' programming is separated into three areas: Youth Justice Alternative Programs, Immigrant Children's Shelters, and Educational Programming. We also run programming that seeks to create opportunities for families to become self-sufficient including adult education and workforce development. The inspiring kids and families we work with are seeking the American dream: equality, education, and a healthier quality of life.
At Southwest Key, we simply open the doors to opportunity so they can achieve these dreams. While most youth services clients are kids of color, very few professionals in the field are people of color. We believe effective services must be designed and delivered by persons knowledgeable of relevant cultural, lingual, and ethnic differences. For this reason, Southwest Key has built a minority-led organization known for its cultural competency. We are one of the most diverse nonprofits in the United States with our employees, executive management team and board members all representing the various groups we serve.
