In this role, you will be responsible for managing transportation activities and establishing effective and efficient routing and the scheduling of vehicles for the purpose of assigned store deliveries., attended donation centers, and donor pickup. Specific Experience/Skills/Abilities: Five years of experience in transportation and logistics preferred. Strong communication, coaching and organizational skills. Management, supervisory, leadership ability. Experience in flow of material in a warehouse environment. Proficiency in computer applications, with experience in Excel and Word. Ability to manage multiple projects to completion. Knowledge in planning, budgeting, DOT regulations, shipping, and warehousing. Customer service skills are essential. Essential Functions: Manages the performance of all direct-report employees while enhancing employee capabilities by providing training and fostering an environment of teamwork in the transportation and docks departments. Ensure safe operation of fleet vehicles, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Monitor's spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets. Consults with and maintains regular communication with the Director of Warehousing and Logistics regarding service audits and procurement of equipment and supplies. Identify departmental equipment needs and maintenance issues and convey to Director of Warehousing and Logistics to ensure that all required vehicle maintenance is performed in a timely manner. Always operate within company policies and procedures. Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling), stage finished product for loading, load finished product onto trucks, unload raw materials from trucks and move raw materials to warehouse storage. Conducts regular trainings with employees and ensure that all drivers are up to date in all DOT (Department of Transportation) and safety procedures. Other duties as assigned. Basic Requirements: High school diploma Must have and maintain a valid Ohio CDL Class A driver's license and have a driving record. Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends. Able to safely lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs. periodically, to reach above-head level; full range of body motion with ability to stoop, bend, squat, grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms. Tag gaylords and place in assigned areas, assist with movement of merchandise. Level off top of gaylords to ensure ability to stack safely. Other duties as assigned. SPECIFIC SKILLS/ABILITIES Customer service background in retail or food service is desirable. A background in manufacturing is helpful. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Able to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required.  Occasional extra hours as donations and substituting demand.
