Job Purpose:
The University of Wyoming is accepting applications for the position of Director of Sports Medicine. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the Sports Medicine department for a successful DI (FBS) athletic program. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, supervising and evaluating a large staff of associate/assistant athletic trainers and student support staff (e.g., interns, volunteers, etc.);
Providing and coordinating a high level of athletic healthcare services for assigned team(s) to include prevention, evaluation, treatment, and short-term and long-term rehabilitation of athletic injuries (anticipated team coverage is men’s and women’s golf or men’s and women’s cross country),
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records and proper injury documentation,
Collaborating with team physicians (in-house primary care physician and local orthopedic group) and other members of the sports medicine team (e.g., chiropractors, massage therapist, etc.);
Communicating and working in partnership with applicable coaching staffs and the multi-disciplinary team (e.g., Sports Medicine, Student-Athlete Well-Being, Sports Nutrition, Sports Performance, etc.) to provide an integrated program of year-round injury prevention and rehabilitation for applicable student-athletes.
Coordinating all home and away coverage for appropriate student-athlete athletic activities (e.g., contests, practices, workouts, etc.).
Developing appropriate policies and procedures;
Monitoring of all expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines;
Communicating problems, issues and program improvement ideas involving the sports medicine area to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
Coordinating the student-athlete drug-testing program; and
Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics/Designee.
The successful candidate will coordinate the care for approximately 400 student-athletes and serve as the primary athletic trainer for men’s and women’s cross country or men’s and women’s golf. The projected start date for this position is July 1, 2024. The position will remain open until filled. This is a full-time (12 month), benefited position with a posted salary of $100,000/commensurate with experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in athletic training, health science, or related field
BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
Current state of Wyoming licensure or within 60 days of starting the position
BLS Certification
A minimum of five (5) years of full-time collegiate and/or professional experience (minimum of three (3) of those years at the Division I level) in the sports medicine field

Provides oversight of the HSD behavioral health advisory groups, board and committees and provides strategic direction and oversight for peer delivered services and makes decisions to ensure the equitable distribution of resources and power by utilizing data, budgetary expenditures, and projections to determine financial and program impact, identifying, and determining program policy changes needed. Oversees the design and implementation of new programs to ensure commitment to eliminating health inequality while also making program level decisions about multiple, statewide programs and policies which impact behavioral healthcare services to consumers.
This position provides oversight for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all behavioral health programs, projects, and initiatives through supervision of the behavioral health operations unit. This position ensures adherence to legislative and OHA leadership priorities while guiding a diverse team of behavioral subject matter experts in their area to implement changes within the behavioral health unit to synthesize person-directed, trauma-informed, equitable, effective approaches towards behavioral health services in Oregon. Working Conditions

Employment Status

What you will do! This is a management position within the Office of Health Analytics. The Research and Data (RAD) Manager is responsible for managing policy, operations, data systems and administrative matters relating to the development, implementation, oversight, evaluation, and funding of healthcare activities in the state of Oregon.
This position’s primary responsibility is to direct resources and operations to achieve outcomes through the management of a large team of mid- and upper-level operations, policy and research professionals. The RAD Manager provides hands-on guidance, coordination, leadership, feedback, and technical assistance to staff who support broad and diverse functions related to data collection, analysis, interpretation and policy development. What you will do! This is a management position within the Office of Health Analytics. The Research and Data (RAD) Manager is responsible for managing policy, operations, data systems and administrative matters relating to the development, implementation, oversight, evaluation, and funding of healthcare activities in the state of Oregon.
This position’s primary responsibility is to direct resources and operations to achieve outcomes through the management of a large team of mid- and upper-level operations, policy and research professionals. The RAD Manager provides hands-on guidance, coordination, leadership, feedback, and technical assistance to staff who support broad and diverse functions related to data collection, analysis, interpretation and policy development. This position has latitude to change the scope of operations and recommend changes to policies and procedures.
The RAD Manager is responsible for implementing three statutorily required health care data collection programs integral to informing health system transformation in Oregon: the All Payer All Claims (APAC) Reporting Program, which collects claims, enrollment, and encounter information from Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers in Oregon; the Hospital Reporting Program, which collects hospital financial, community benefit and discharge data; and the Health Care Workforce Reporting program, which collects information from the licensed health care workforce. The RAD team develops and publicly reports healthcare access, cost, and quality information to policy makers, purchasers and consumers. Staff analyze and evaluate these data along with information from other sources to inform and advance programs and policies, including but not limited to the Health Care Cost Growth Target Program and the Health Care Marketplace Oversight Program.
The RAD Manager serves as a key resource and advisor in the design of health coverage initiatives in the state and is the primary contact for health services researchers, demographers, fiscal analysts, and legislative staff for Oregon health care trends. This position is responsible for the successful completion of many analysis and evaluation projects initiated by the Legislature, Oregon Health Policy Board, and the Office of the Governor.
The RAD Manager position requires a strong ability to clarify and prioritize tasks to navigate a complex and fast-paced work environment with a broad array of constituents. The position provides technical support to the Director of Health Analytics, leadership of the Health Policy & Analytics Division and OHA.
