Institutional Research Data Architect designs systems for and manages complex data to support the data-driven decision-making functions of the institution. This position serves to support the Office of Institutional Research in providing a first-class reporting structure for national and state accountability reporting including IPEDS and SC CHE . The Office of Institutional Research serves a critical function for the College of Charleston in providing data to senior administrators, the College community, and external agencies.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering, management information science, data processing or related field and experience with Tableau, Cognos/Argos, SQL , and/or SAS is required. Experience with data mining, including techniques of data extraction, documentation, analysis, and reporting is required. Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred. Job Purpose
Institutional Research Data Architect designs systems for and manages complex data to support the data-driven decision-making functions of the institution. This position serves to support the Office of Institutional Research in providing a first-class reporting structure for national and state accountability reporting including IPEDS and SC CHE . The Office of Institutional Research serves a critical function for the College of Charleston in providing data to senior administrators, the College community, and external agencies.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, mathematics/statistics, engineering, management information science, data processing or related field and experience with Tableau, Cognos/Argos, SQL , and/or SAS is required. Experience with data mining, including techniques of data extraction, documentation, analysis, and reporting is required. Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
Experience with Tableau, Cognos/Argos, SQL , and/or SAS . Advanced SAS programming experience is preferred.
Working knowledge and practitioner of methods and techniques of data extraction, documentation, analysis, and reporting.
Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
Knowledge and understanding of the data and information that is important to an academic institution.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and to communicate effectively.
Must be able to work well under strict deadlines and have exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Must understand the significance of maintaining data integrity and confidentially with student records; knowledge of and adherence to FERPA regulations.
Preferred:
Exceptional organizational skills and experience managing and documenting complex projects.
Knowledge of higher education information systems such as Ellucian Banner and related data systems and repositories such as Salesforce, IPEDS , US News, and CSRDE .
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Limited overnight travel may be required to attend professional development conferences and meetings. Assistant Health Supervisor General Duties: The Assistant Health Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the health services at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. This position, in conjunction with health supervisor, provides daily, on-call, and weekly health services for all persons, working in tandem with the wellness supervisor to provide mental, emotional, and social health at camp. Additionally, this role supports the property, hospitality, operational, program, & cabin leadership team as needed as part of the Tomahawk Ranch team. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Tomahawk Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Participate as an active member of the camp staff team within all aspects of camp program.
Work under the direction of the health supervisor, wellness supervisor, executive camp director, GSCO health supervisor, and camp directors to provide health care for all persons within camp program.
Work under the technical supervision of the health supervisor and a licensed physician who is on-call to provide health advice, support, and services.
Work within the communicable disease plan to ensure safe and healthy practices and measures are taken to help mitigate the spread of illness.
Assist in the weekly and daily health screening procedures and results of all persons.
Prepare and consistently maintain camp-wide first-aid kits. Provide supplies and gear for staff 'self-carry' first aid kits.
Participate in the communication and advice given to staff on accommodations to provide for special medical/health/wellness considerations.
Maintain constant and professional communication with caregivers regarding the health care and services provided to campers.
Provide support in the routine and emergency health procedures in consultation with the health supervisor and executive camp director and in keeping with established guidelines.
Provide a comfortable, soothing, and caring health care environment and space for all persons.
Assist in the cleanliness, organization, care, maintenance, and inventory of the health center & medication delivery room.
Assist in the housekeeping and laundry of the health center, including biohazard laundry.
Provide communication to health supervisor for health/medical supply and equipment requisitions.
Camper Leadership & Supervision
When directed, act 'in loco parentis' regarding the health services for all campers in overnight camp sessions.
Assure campers receive quality health care and medications as directed.
Support & counsel campers in daily living, camp activities, and developing peer relationships.
Staff Leadership & Supervision
Assist in initial and ongoing health/medical training for the purposes of staff continued education.
Provide support for the evaluating staff on the camp-wide health procedures & practices.
Provide health/first aid according to procedures.
Verify staff competence before assigning them health care/first aid care role. Follow up on treatment given. Monitor staff performance throughout the season.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
Provide quality documentation and review of the health/medical practices and procedures at camp.
Participate in camper and staff feedback forms as necessary for the overall camp's strategic planning.
Interact with digital systems including WorkBright, CampMinder, Office365, Slack, Instagram, & Facebook.
Respect the confidential nature of all information pertaining to staff, volunteers, and campers.
Participate in regular staff meetings and training for planning purposes, communication resolutions, and carrying out assignments.
Coordinate and communicate schedules to campers & staff as necessary.
Carry out ongoing observations to assure that goals and expectations of leadership & health care delivery are positive and appropriate.
Follow policies, procedures, and standards set by the American Camping Association, Girl Scouts Safety Activity Checkpoints, Colorado Department of Health and Human Services, and other certifying industry organizations.
PRIMARY CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Work plans are developed with the Health Supervisor & Executive Camp Director in conjunction with camp strategic plan, budget, and policies.
Provide and/or support camp-wide emergency procedures during on-site and off-site trip incidents.

Health Supervisor General Duties: The Health Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and management of health services at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. This position is responsible for providing daily, on-call, and weekly health services for all persons, working in tandem with the wellness supervisor to provide mental, emotional, and social health at camp. Additionally, this role supports the property, hospitality, operational, program, & cabin leadership team as needed as part of the Tomahawk Ranch team. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Tomahawk Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Participate as an active member of the camp staff team within all aspects of camp program.
Work with assistant health supervisor, wellness supervisor, executive camp director, GSCO health supervisor, and camp directors to provide health care for all persons within camp program.
Work under the technical supervision of a licensed physician who is on-call to provide health advice, support, and services.
Work within the communicable disease plan to ensure safe and healthy practices and measures are taken to help mitigate the spread of illness.
Accountable for the weekly and daily health screening procedures and results of all persons.
Communicate and advise staff on accommodations to provide for special medical/health/wellness considerations.
Maintain constant and professional communication with caregivers regarding the health care and services provided to campers.
Provide support and oversight in the routine and emergency health procedures in consultation with the executive camp director and in keeping with established guidelines.
Provide a comfortable, soothing, and caring health care environment and space for all persons.
Responsible for the cleanliness, organization, care, maintenance, and inventory of the health center & medication delivery room.
Responsible for the housekeeping and laundry of the health center, including biohazard laundry.

Camper Leadership & Supervision
At all times, act 'in loco parentis' regarding the health services for all campers in overnight camp sessions.

Perform initial and ongoing health/medical training for the purposes of staff continued education.

Verify staff competence before assigning them health care/first aid care role. Follow up on treatment given. Monitor staff performance throughout the season.

Photographer General Duties: The Photographer is responsible for documenting the camp experience and managing the summer social media at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. This position is responsible for supporting and collaborating with the Assistant Photographer. Additionally, this role supports the property, hospitality, operational, program, health, & cabin leadership team as needed as part of the Tomahawk Ranch team. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Tomahawk Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Implement the strategic plan for photography, videography, and social media during the summer season.
Capture quality pictures and videos for summer documentation and year-round marketing usage.
Edit photos and videos to acquire and optimize images for digital promotion.
Create, analyze, and publish content for the camp's and GSCO's social media and marketing platforms.
Work closely with the operational director obtaining approval prior to publishing.
Review camper photograph release forms, managing permissions.
Provide care & management of photography and videography equipment, including storage, maintenance, and usage in coordination with Assistant Photographer.
Provide and/or support emergency procedures during on-site and off-site trip incidents.
Provide and/or support health and wellness practices.
Provide support as necessary to all operational, program, cabin leadership, and health staff.
Support the work of the site, kitchen, and housekeeping staff as needed.
Camper Leadership & Supervision
Support & counsel campers in daily living, camp activities, and developing peer relationships.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
Work on the development, review, and assist in the creation of daily, weekly, and activity schedules, in cooperation with other staff, based on camp program, camper planning, and camp goals.
Provide & participate in camper and staff feedback forms as necessary for the overall camp's strategic planning.
Participate in regular staff meetings and training for planning purposes, communication resolutions, and carrying out assignments.
Coordinate and communicate schedules to campers & staff as necessary.
Carry out ongoing observations to assure that goals and expectations of leadership & program delivery are positive and appropriate.
Interact with digital systems including WorkBright, Slack, Instagram, & Facebook.
Respect the confidential nature of all information pertaining to staff, volunteers, and campers.

What is a Program and Events Specialist?

Departmental Overview
The UC Berkeley Labor Center conducts research and education on issues related to labor and employment. The Labor Center’s student engagement and leadership training serve to educate a diverse new generation of labor leaders. The Labor Center carries out policy relevant research on topics such as job quality and workforce development, and works with unions, policymakers and other stakeholders to develop innovative policy perspectives and programs. The Labor Center provides an important source of research and information on unions and the changing workforce for students, scholars, policymakers and the public. Reporting to the Student Engagement Director, the Program Coordinator performs a variety of moderately complex to difficult tasks across a variety of administrative functions in support of varied programs offered by the Center for Labor Research and Education (Labor Center). The UC Berkeley Labor Center conducts research and education on issues related to labor and employment. The Labor Center’s student engagement and leadership training serve to educate a diverse new generation of labor leaders. The Labor Center carries out policy relevant research on topics such as job quality and workforce development, and works with unions, policymakers and other stakeholders to develop innovative policy perspectives and programs. Health Supervisor General Duties: The Health Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and management of health services at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. This position is responsible for providing daily, on-call, and weekly health services for all persons, working in tandem with the wellness supervisor to provide mental, emotional, and social health at camp. Additionally, this role supports the property, hospitality, operational, program, & cabin leadership team as needed as part of the Tomahawk Ranch team. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Tomahawk Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Participate as an active member of the camp staff team within all aspects of camp program.
Work with assistant health supervisor, wellness supervisor, executive camp director, GSCO health supervisor, and camp directors to provide health care for all persons within camp program.
Work under the technical supervision of a licensed physician who is on-call to provide health advice, support, and services.
Work within the communicable disease plan to ensure safe and healthy practices and measures are taken to help mitigate the spread of illness.
Accountable for the weekly and daily health screening procedures and results of all persons.
Communicate and advise staff on accommodations to provide for special medical/health/wellness considerations.
Maintain constant and professional communication with caregivers regarding the health care and services provided to campers.
Provide support and oversight in the routine and emergency health procedures in consultation with the executive camp director and in keeping with established guidelines.
Provide a comfortable, soothing, and caring health care environment and space for all persons.
Responsible for the cleanliness, organization, care, maintenance, and inventory of the health center & medication delivery room.
Responsible for the housekeeping and laundry of the health center, including biohazard laundry.

Camper Leadership & Supervision
At all times, act 'in loco parentis' regarding the health services for all campers in overnight camp sessions.

Perform initial and ongoing health/medical training for the purposes of staff continued education.

Verify staff competence before assigning them health care/first aid care role. Follow up on treatment given. Monitor staff performance throughout the season.

Participate in camper and staff feedback forms as necessary for the overall camp's strategic planning.

Health Supervisor General Duties: The Health Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and management of health services at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. This position is responsible for providing daily, on-call, and weekly health services for all persons, working in tandem with the wellness supervisor to provide mental, emotional, and social health at camp. Additionally, this role supports the property, hospitality, operational, program, & cabin leadership team as needed as part of the Tomahawk Ranch team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Participate as an active member of the camp staff team within all aspects of camp program.
Work with assistant health supervisor, wellness supervisor, executive camp director, GSCO health supervisor, and camp directors to provide health care for all persons within camp program.
Work under the technical supervision of a licensed physician who is on-call to provide health advice, support, and services.
Work within the communicable disease plan to ensure safe and healthy practices and measures are taken to help mitigate the spread of illness.
Accountable for the weekly and daily health screening procedures and results of all persons.
Communicate and advise staff on accommodations to provide for special medical/health/wellness considerations.
Maintain constant and professional communication with caregivers regarding the health care and services provided to campers.
Provide support and oversight in the routine and emergency health procedures in consultation with the executive camp director and in keeping with established guidelines.
Provide a comfortable, soothing, and caring health care environment and space for all persons.
Responsible for the cleanliness, organization, care, maintenance, and inventory of the health center & medication delivery room.
Responsible for the housekeeping and laundry of the health center, including biohazard laundry.
Responsible for communicating health/medical supply and equipment requisitions.
Camper Leadership & Supervision
At all times, act 'in loco parentis' regarding the health services for all campers in overnight camp sessions.
Accountable for assuring campers receive quality health care and medications as directed.
Support & counsel campers in daily living, camp activities, and developing peer relationships.
Staff Leadership & Supervision
Perform initial and ongoing health/medical training for the purposes of staff continued education.
Continually evaluate staff on the camp-wide health procedures & practices.
Provide health/first aid advice according to procedures.
Provide in-person medication administration training for staff, as needed & assigned.
Verify staff competence before assigning them health care/first aid care role. Follow up on treatment given. Monitor staff performance throughout the season.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
Accountable for the documentation and review of the health/medical practices and procedures at camp.
Participate in camper and staff feedback forms as necessary for the overall camp's strategic planning.

Summer Camp Photographer at Tomahawk Ranch
Make a difference in the life of a camper and spend an unforgettable summer in the Rocky Mountains! Tomahawk Ranch is located one-hour southwest of Denver in Bailey, Colorado. Activities include arts and crafts, backpacking, boating, horseback riding, zip lining, farm with ranch animals, dance & drama, archery and sports, photography, international cultures, nature and science, astronomy, homesteading, gardening, and outdoor skills. Camp themes include Wizarding, Fantasy (Percy Jackson, Zombies, Renaissance), Wild West & Mountain Adventure! Tomahawk Ranch is licensed by the State of Colorado and accredited by the American Camp Association.
DATES OF EMPLOYMENT: Late May to Mid-August 2024 (approximate dates TBD)
Pay: $510/wk (plus food and lodging valued at $200)

Photographer General Duties: The Photographer is responsible for documenting the camp experience and managing the summer social media at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. This position is responsible for supporting and collaborating with the Assistant Photographer. Additionally, this role supports the property, hospitality, operational, program, health, & cabin leadership team as needed as part of the Tomahawk Ranch team. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Tomahawk Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Implement the strategic plan for photography, videography, and social media during the summer season.
Capture quality pictures and videos for summer documentation and year-round marketing usage.
Edit photos and videos to acquire and optimize images for digital promotion.
Create, analyze, and publish content for the camp's and GSCO's social media and marketing platforms.
Work closely with the operational director obtaining approval prior to publishing.
Review camper photograph release forms, managing permissions.
Provide care & management of photography and videography equipment, including storage, maintenance, and usage in coordination with Assistant Photographer.
Provide and/or support emergency procedures during on-site and off-site trip incidents.
Provide and/or support health and wellness practices.
Provide support as necessary to all operational, program, cabin leadership, and health staff.
Support the work of the site, kitchen, and housekeeping staff as needed.
Camper Leadership & Supervision
Support & counsel campers in daily living, camp activities, and developing peer relationships.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
Work on the development, review, and assist in the creation of daily, weekly, and activity schedules, in cooperation with other staff, based on camp program, camper planning, and camp goals.
Provide & participate in camper and staff feedback forms as necessary for the overall camp's strategic planning.
Participate in regular staff meetings and training for planning purposes, communication resolutions, and carrying out assignments.
Coordinate and communicate schedules to campers & staff as necessary.
Carry out ongoing observations to assure that goals and expectations of leadership & program delivery are positive and appropriate.
Interact with digital systems including WorkBright, Slack, Instagram, & Facebook.
Respect the confidential nature of all information pertaining to staff, volunteers, and campers.
Follow policies, procedures, and standards set by the American Camping Association, Girl Scouts Safety Activity Checkpoints, Colorado Department of Health and Human Services, and other certifying industry organizations.
PRIMARY CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Formal Training
High school diploma or GED.
Must have current OR willingness to obtain the following certifications: First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Mandated Reporter, Universal Standard Precautions, Medication Administration, WFA/WFR.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
Proven expertise in photography techniques.
Proven eye for detail and ability to use light to create the desired mood or effect.
Ability to compose a scene that is visually appealing and tells a story.
Proven showcase of utilizing different angles to capture desired effect.
Proven quality usage of camera filters.
Proficiency with photo editing software and camera equipment.
Preferred experience or desire for working with children.
Preferred experience working in an outdoor program and/or camp setting.
Working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
