Primary teaching responsibilities are in social psychology. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester, typically with one or two preparations per semester. Candidates will be expected to teach social psychology that integrates research experiences. Other courses may include Multicultural Psychology, Psychology and Culture, Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, or an advanced course in one's area of expertise. Because the Psychology Department is a national leader in faculty-student collaborative research, candidates should have a program of research that can excite and involve undergraduates. Being an outstanding teacher and engaging diverse undergraduates in all phases of the research process are two essential elements of this position. We also welcome innovative teachers who skillfully integrate research with teaching. Start-up funds for research are available, and the College offers opportunities for internal research support and assistance in seeking external funding.
