Job Description

PeopleTec, Inc. is currently seeking a Hardware/Network Specialist to support the Colorado Springs, CO location. 

 

The candidate will provide support to the development and fielding of an Army missile defense ground station in Colorado Springs, CO.

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Ideal candidate has capability to perform network administration, network design, and hardware design / integration.
  • Perform network administration and maintenance of local area, worldwide, and virtual private networks (VPN).
  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
  • Technical expertise in computer networks and computer hardware and software interconnection / interfacing (e.g., routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.).
  • Prepares or ensures appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
  • Perform monitoring and network analysis supporting short and long-range planning.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment, as required.
  • Support hardware/network design including selection of hardware components and software applications.
  • Perform hardware/network installation including the ability to read, interconnect, and wire diagrams, reference designator, and cable list.
  • Support system architecture and network analysis in areas of computing, storage, networking, audio, video, and infrastructure components.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/network issues and determine technical solutions, as necessary.
  • Assist in monitoring the hardware procurement and configuration management.
  • Provide support to team leads, design team, and hardware engineers.
  • CCNA with CISCO firewall and switch experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools, to include MS Visio.
  • CompTIA Security+ preferred, CCNP preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a passport.
  • Travel: 10%, including OCONUS travel.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • A Secret clearance is required to perform this work.  Candidates are required to have an active clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintatin a Secret clearance level during their employment.

 

Education Requirements:

A completed Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 2 years of experience, or a High School Degree/GED and 6 years of experience.
