Job Description:

The Consumer Fundraising team builds the foundation for optimal long-term donor value by developing strategies and programs that increase individual donor engagement, financial revenue, and fundraising capacity for the American Red Cross. The team focuses on marketing to individual donors via direct response and digital channels (e.g. direct mail, email, phone, search, mobile, etc.) to engage constituents and to raise revenue to support the mission of the American Red Cross.

The position reports to the Senior Director, Segment Strategy & Channel Development, Consumer Fundraising and is centered around deepening engagement and retaining Red Cross online donors and supporters via email and MMS (text) channels throughout their lifecycle, with focus on growing key donor segments.


  • Project management and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns that support organizational initiatives and segment priorities
  • Own annual fundraising and expense projections for email and text channels
  • Manage robust test and learn environment to continue to improve channel and segment engagement metrics
  • Supervise Email Associate responsible for day-to-day production and content development
  • Plan and coordinate cross-functionally with Social Engagement, Website and Corporate Partnerships, as well as Marketing Operations teams
  • Manage relationships with agency partners for Email and Text, and lead weekly strategy meetings
  • Present learnings and recommendations to broader teams, including test and learn best practices, segmentation governance and process improvements


This position requires a creative thinker enthusiastic to optimize evolving technology, with strong attention to detail and process, and demonstrated ability to juggle multiple initiatives. Candidate should have a strong analytics skills, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and willingness to adapt to fast paced organizational change. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal, liaison, and negotiation skills are required.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Marketing, Business or related field. Minimum 5 to 7 years of related experience required and a minimum of 3 years of staff management experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint required; familiarity with email marketing interfaces, html, digital analytics tools, robust customer targeting and segmentation is desired. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of marketing and segmentation in data warehouse environments in a large organization or through demonstrated case studies is strongly preferred.


Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs, willingness to work outside standard established business hours, and a minimal amount (0-10%) of business travel are required.
