Position Overview
America Votes is seeking a talented staff or project manager and mid-senior campaign strategist for a full-time position as Ohio Deputy State Director. The Deputy State Director will take a strategic, collaborative, and flexible approach to their work with the state coalition and the coordination of strategies between state based partner organizations and national partners. The position will have responsibility in supporting the scale-up, direct support, and coordination of canvass operations. They will work with the America Votes team in Ohio and will support advancing team priorities and goals, with direct management responsibilities. Responsibilities
Campaign Planning & Leadership : Facilitate innovative and creative solutions to challenges related to electoral and issue campaigns, short and long-term campaign planning for statewide and ballot level electoral and voter education plans. Facilitate ongoing conversations and collective actionable steps toward equity in the work of the coalition and partner members.

Directly manage and provide leadership in the state with the development, implementation, and analysis of state campaign plans, with an emphasis on direct voter contact programs. Support state director in coalition work including in approaching campaign, electoral, and coalition work through a lens of racial equity. Model principles of equity, diversity and inclusion internally and externally. Be culturally competent and support work to build power with BIPOC-led and focused partners.
Staff Management: Ensure a safe, welcoming, cohesive, and inspiring team culture for staff to excel in; role model and uphold the organization's values of creating an inclusive and equitable working environment for all members of the team.
Project Management: Support the state director in implementing America Votes' organizational goals. Support team creation of work plans and team benchmarks for success. Manage special projects to deliver on team goals, both internal and external.
Partner Campaign Support: Advocate for partner organizations and elevate quality programs in the state, assist organizations in identifying potential resources, and move resources to partner groups whenever possible. Support organizational and team focus on quality service to partners and stakeholders. Lead, organize, and facilitate coordinated and/or collaborative partner events, including coalition meetings, training and direct voter contact activities. Develop and execute training curriculums to advance the partner's program, as well as create and organize resources. Support program implementation through the voter file and other related tools including basic VAN administration.
Product Creation : Lead and support the creation and development of written reports and products to tell the story of Ohio and support the coalition. Lead the development of content for reports and presentations for a diverse audience of stakeholders. Deliver presentations to stakeholders, sometimes on short timelines.

Qualifications Required
Ideal candidates will have a minimum 5+ years experience in progressive political campaigns with at least 1 cycle of statewide experience, or similar transferable experience and three years' project management or staff management experience, including a track record of fostering a collaborative environment and consistent feedback.
Expertise in electoral field program management, including outstanding organizing skills and the ability to write, evaluate, and execute winning campaign plans with a strong direct voter contact component.
Experience working with underrepresented and/or historically marginalized communities, particularly in political and organizing settings.

Organizational Overview: Footsteps supports and affirms individuals and families who have left or are contemplating leaving, insular ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities in their quest to lead self-determined lives. Based in New York City with remote options nationally, Footsteps offers members peer and emotional support groups, educational and career programs, divorce and custody support, social events and celebrations, and referrals to partner organizations for additional resources. Since Footsteps began in 2003, we have served over 2,300 individuals as they work to define their own identities, build new connections and communities, and lead meaningful lives on their own terms.
We have recently completed a robust strategic planning process, which has laid out a clear vision for Footsteps through 2027. In 2024, as we continue to recalibrate post-COVID, we expect our budget to surpass $5M with a staff of over 30. The AM is responsible for managing the portfolio review process, tracking and sharing progress towards development goals, preparing donor research summaries and briefings, and ensuring accuracy of database records. Responsibilities :
Manage a quarterly portfolio review process for the Major Gifts team, with input from the Director of Prospect Research and Portfolio Management (DPRPM). Collaborate with Major Gifts stakeholders to track and strategize around donor engagement, outreach, projections and money in, and meeting financial and visit goals.
Provide reports and visualizations to the team to show individual and overall portfolio landscapes and progress.
Manage, track, and execute portfolio clean up projects that result in portfolios which are aligned with team wide fundraising goals.
Use research tools to analyze individual wealth indicators, including gifts to others, salary, stock, real estate, and other assets, to determine overall financial capacity and interest in our work.

Provide reports and visualizations to the team to show individual and overall portfolio landscapes and progress.
Manage, track, and execute portfolio clean up projects that result in portfolios which are aligned with team wide fundraising goals.
Use research tools to analyze individual wealth indicators, including gifts to others, salary, stock, real estate, and other assets, to determine overall financial capacity and interest in our work.
Produce coherent, well-written, thorough and accurate briefing documents summarizing research conclusions for LCV’s President, Executive staff, and the Major Gifts team prior to donor contact such as meetings and events.
Contribute to organizational and department efforts to infuse racial justice and equity into all aspects of our work, including our fundraising, data management and collection, and prospect research. Manage a quarterly portfolio review process for the Major Gifts team, with input from the Director of Prospect Research and Portfolio Management (DPRPM). Provide reports and visualizations to the team to show individual and overall portfolio landscapes and progress.

Manage a quarterly portfolio review process for the Major Gifts team, with input from the Director of Prospect Research and Portfolio Management (DPRPM). Collaborate with Major Gifts stakeholders to track and strategize around donor engagement, outreach, projections and money in, and meeting financial and visit goals.
Provide reports and visualizations to the team to show individual and overall portfolio landscapes and progress.
Manage, track, and execute portfolio clean up projects that result in portfolios which are aligned with team wide fundraising goals.
Use research tools to analyze individual wealth indicators, including gifts to others, salary, stock, real estate, and other assets, to determine overall financial capacity and interest in our work.
Produce coherent, well-written, thorough and accurate briefing documents summarizing research conclusions for LCV’s President, Executive staff, and the Major Gifts team prior to donor contact such as meetings and events.
Contribute to organizational and department efforts to infuse racial justice and equity into all aspects of our work, including our fundraising, data management and collection, and prospect research. Proactively identify ways to highlight the organization’s racial justice commitment to key internal stakeholders within the fundraising team.
Develop and maintain a familiarity with LCV’s existing top donors and prospective donors.
Manage updates to individual donor records, portfolios, and prospect assignments within the CRM database.
Work closely with the Development Data and Operations team to manage and execute the policies and procedures around prospect pipeline management and activity.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain and enhance skills and abilities and stay abreast of current prospect management trends and research techniques.
Travel up to 10% of the time for staff and department retreats, trainings, and conferences, as needed.

Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – Must have at least 3 years of work experience in prospect research and portfolio management with a nonprofit or campaign. Strong experience with CRM software such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or DonorPerfect. Experience with online research tools such as LexisNexis, iWave, DonorSearch, ResearchPoint, FoundationSearch, or others. Familiarity with the basic tenets of fundraising. The Director of Corporate Giving and Events will oversee all events related to WoD, securing event sponsorships, building relationships with honorees, and working to engage them as donors.
This position will supervise the events manager and the corporate program manager on the fund development team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Meet or exceed organization fundraising goals by cultivating key relationships and soliciting funds through strategic stewardship calls, personal visits, tours, and other engagement opportunities.
Partner across the organization to execute funding strategies for mission advancement to include outreach plan, community events, girl experiences, and property support.
Create new ways to meet funding needs in a changing environment by ideating and implementing creative approaches to fundraising challenges.
Ensure effective donor and prospect tracking through utilization of Raiser's Edge donor database and other tools and resources.
Serve on Girl Scouts of Colorado's Operational Leadership Team, contributing to the overall success of the organization and its delivery on its mission.
Corporate Funding Responsibilities
Create, implement, and build evaluation tools for a comprehensive corporate partnership strategy focused on annual corporate funders.
Recruit, retain and grow corporate partners statewide to create long‐lasting and mutually beneficial relationships.
Develop ongoing, strong relationships with corporate partners and potential partners to support their connection to GSCO.
Manage the full lifecycle of all relationships with potential corporate partners from identification to cultivation, to solicitation while working with the program team to develop programs that meet corporate partner needs and advance GSCO's mission. Attend funded program events in person as needed.
In partnership with the program team oversee regular reporting to corporate partners to show the value of their investment. Solicit and manage evaluations and surveys for Girl Scout programs, create and distribute quarterly stewardship reports for corporate donors on the impact of their gifts.
Leverage and refine existing corporate menu of sponsorship and partnership opportunities to maximize revenue for GSCO, provide value for partners, and ensure program opportunities for Girl Scouts.
Implement high‐level cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition strategies intended to strengthen relationships with current corporate partners.
Build creative ways to foster employee engagement with corporate partners to enhance fundraising and program opportunities for Girl Scouts.
Establish and oversee all short- and long-term development strategies as they relate to corporations including ROI, goals, objectives, metrics, and tracking and reporting of benchmarks.
Provide direction and support for GSCO events throughout the state as they relate to corporate partners.
Collaborate with development team on strategies to grow corporate support from existing organizational and individual donors.
Women of Distinction Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of Women of Distinction gala and auxiliary events. This includes but is not limited to securing sponsorships, working with event volunteer leadership, soliciting nominations, leading the selection process and all event logistics. Deliver quality events for all sponsors and attendees for gala events in Denver (800 attendees), Colorado Springs (300 attendees), and Grand Junction (300 attendees) and auxiliary events (4-5 in Denver, one each in Colorado Springs and Grand Junction).
Cultivate relationships with WoD honorees, before, during and after WoD annual events, to convert them to become active donors and members of the WoD Network (an exclusive annual giving society just for WoD honorees) and actively engage them with GSCO.
Work to convert all new Denver WoD honorees to WoD Network members.
Continually evolve WoD program aspects, recommending additional touchpoints and events to engage WoD alums.
Develop content and oversee production of WoD alum quarterly e-newsletter. Monitor activities and successes of WoD alums through social media and other means to ensure we recognize and celebrate alums.
Manage all communications with WoD nominees, honorees, and alums.
Oversee WoD nomination process for all WoD annual events, including recruiting host and nomination committee members, job descriptions, template emails, nomination form.
Secure corporate and individual sponsors for all WoD events, including development of sponsor levels and benefits and outreach to potential sponsors.

A bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate giving.

Knowledge of and experience using prospect research tools, gift calculators and donor CRM software (Blackbaud NXT experience preferred).

About the Role:
The Director of Development at Code for America will develop and implement fundraising strategies for securing long-term, multi-year contributed / philanthropic revenue from institutional, corporate, and individual funders. Code for America is looking for a talented Director of Development who will drive long-term strategies and lead the current development team to accomplish ambitious fundraising goals across the organization.

About the Role:
The Director of Development at Code for America will develop and implement fundraising strategies for securing long-term, multi-year contributed / philanthropic revenue from institutional, corporate, and individual funders. This includes meeting annual revenue targets, building and owning funder relationships, prospecting, managing the delivery of concept notes, grant proposals, reports, and more. The goal is to raise significant revenue to support Code for America’s various programs / portfolios and general operating needs.
The Director of Development will report to either our Chief Revenue Officer or Chief Executive Officer. This role includes up to 15% travel.
In this position you will:
Revenue planning, strategy and execution | 50%
Resource Code for America programs and meet outlined revenue targets, across all revenue types, including foundations, corporations, and major donors
Plan for future revenue in collaboration with cross-functional leadership, including Revenue Operations, Programs, Finance, CxO, and Marketing & Communications
Develop and deliver on a multi year fundraising pipeline
Coordinate with the Program, Product, and Finance staff to gather required information to produce concept notes, LOI, proposals, budgets, and reports
Establish pitch strategy across funder groups and design best practices for funder cultivation and stewardship
Prospect research | 25%
Implement prospect research in coordination with the prospect researcher, including outreach, scheduling and attending meetings, and follow up. Work with the Finance Revenue Operations team to track these efforts to demonstrate results.
Strategic leadership | 20%
Develop and implement a coordinated, year-round fundraising plan and timetable for major and mid-level gifts, including setting target goals and monitoring ongoing results
Develop and implement funding strategy, meeting milestones, OKRs, KPIs, and other metrics in service of the fundraising target
Guide and advise on funding potential in order to inform and drive resource allocation decisions that achieve program goals and organizational mission
Draft proposal budgets and coordinate with Finance and Senior Program Directors to align on accuracy. Submit funding applications via email, portal or other mechanism, when completed
Represent development and fundraising to Code for America’s leadership team and to the organization; share expertise and best practices with colleagues under the ethos that ‘everyone is a fundraiser’

7-10 years of professional fundraising experience (including grant writing experience);
3+ years of experience in a management role or leading a team;

The Illinois Program Manager will work with the Illinois Executive Director and manage 1 Career Success Coordinator to ensure the successful implementation of the ANY-IL program and to help manage and cultivate stakeholder relationships.
