We are currently seeking a Development Specialist to work in our Atlanta, GA office. This position will work 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and some weekends and evenings will be required during times of business need. Regional travel will also be involved up to 10-15% of the time.

The Development Specialist participates in the development of funding growth for the chapter through analysis, recommendation and coordination of Financial Development events and activities. May be responsible for coordination of volunteer committees, vendor support, event communications and donor follow-up and recognition. The Development Specialist will be the subject matter expert for back-office development operations functions for the region which include analysis of fundraising management reports, portfolio management support, gift processing and database management, prospecting, training and other administrative support to the development team.

Some Responsibilities:

Fundraising Management Support:

  • Utilize fundraising management reports to provide Regional Chief Development Officer (RCDO) and fundraising team details about variances in expected metrics versus actual

Portfolio Management

  • Ensure process for fundraisers to review Daily and MTD DDCOE reports to identify managed gifts that have been received

Prospecting Support

  • Identify currently unmanaged major gifts and notify RCDO so donor can be assigned to a relationship manager (DDCOE Daily or MTD reports

Gift Processing & Database Management

  • Identify managed major gifts that have incorrect relationship managers or no relationship manager listed and request appropriate correction through fundraising support request form

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background and a minimum 3 to 5 years of proven experience and documented success in fund development is required with experience in administrative support to fund development and other administrative functions highly preferred.
