Job Description

PeopleTec is currently seeking a HR Administrator to support our corporate office in Huntsville, AL.

The candidate will be responsible for recruiting, screening and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external). May include the development of HR forms, policies and procedures (including employee handbooks and standard operating procedures), recruiting, reference checking, and ordering background/drug checks.  In addition, candidate will assist with new hire processing, employee orientation, employee open enrollment, benefits management, wellness programs, performance management and employee recognition programs.



  • Post job descriptions and job specifications through an ATS; preferably experience with ApplicantPro
  • Be proactive in networking, cold-calling, and "deep diving" into passive candidate networks throughout various markets
  • Assist with setting up interviews and vetting new potential candidates
  • Participation in job fairs, pre-screen candidates resumes and job applications, schedule interviews, etc.
  • Conducts orientation and facilitates onboarding of new employees to include data entry of employee information and data into GCS / JAMIS
  • Candidate will assist with data audits, processing QSC's, benefits administration / benefits set up, verify dependent eligibility documents
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, culture, etc.)
  • Assist with general HR duties/projects throughout the HR Department
  • Promote company's reputation as one of the "Best Places to Work"
  • Assist with company event planning (wellness, company parties, etc.) and other internal programs as defined by the HR Director


Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of direct Human Resources experience is required
  • Understanding of HR functions and support
  • Proficient computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office products and SharePoint
  • JAMIS / GCS experience desired
  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a very fast paced work environment
  • Excellent organization, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude with meticulous attention to details
  • Experience in event planning for both small and large scale company programs 
  • Previous experience conducting orientation, new hire data entry, benefits administration
  • Previous experience in writing/formatting/administering company newsletter
  • Data auditing and reporting (company metrics, monthly reports, etc.)
  • Ability to cold-call and build relationships by phone
  • Successfully deliver on all deadlines and flawlessly execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen


Education Requirements:

 A completed Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or other related field.  Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.


Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of proposal and/or government contracts
  • PHR or SHRM certification
  • Recruiting certification (AIRS CIR, ACIR, etc.)
  • Previous experience recruiting within the Aerospace and Defense Industry, Intelligence Community, or Space Industry
  • Experience hiring cleared candidates and knowledge of the clearance process
