What you will do:
As a Park Resource Program Manager, you will provide agency and region leadership to direct and supervise region personnel to ensure service delivery that enhances the park visitor experience; protects and preserves historic, cultural and scenic areas; ensures volunteer and interpretation programs are delivered efficiently; and ensures that agency resources are leveraged within each region field services division.
In this role, you will work diligently within the collaborative model which includes coordinating and leading meetings; organization activities; making decisions; and managing consistent statewide approaches for projects and park development. You will represent the agency to Oregon elected officials; collaborate and recommend actions to Senior Leadership regarding stakeholders, legislative committees, and other key natural resource agencies. You may also be asked to lead task forces and facilitate key conversations with the agency’s Directors Group, ORB or other key stakeholder groups or agencies.
Additionally, you may have delegated authority from the Region Manager to make decisions across the region or agency when needed. You will be responsible for development and implementation of preservation plans for all registered historic sites, museum collections, and archives within your assigned region and in the development of statewide approach to prehistoric and historic archaeological sites, including reports to and permits from the State Historic Preservation Office. You will provide input and recommendations from the region to the department liaison with Oregon’s federally recognized tribes and will provide oversight for programs such as the state’s USFWS Endangered Species invertebrate recovery grants, State Natural Areas Program, and implementation of the Habitat Conservation Plan for endangered Western snowy plover recovery.
Minimum Qualifications:
(a) Three (3) years of management experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for each of the following: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation, and d) budget preparation. OR (b) Two (2) years of management experience in a public or private organization which included responsibility for each of the following: a) development of program rules and policies, b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans, c) program evaluation, and d) budget preparation; AND 45-48 quarter hours (30-32 semester hours) of graduate level coursework in management. SCOPE OF WORK
The COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance (CERA) Program Director of Operations is responsible for achieving program objectives by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CERA program and managing the CERA team. Deschutes County is accepting applications for its next County Administrator. The County Administrator is appointed by and serves at the discretion of the Board of County Commissioners. The Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer and is responsible for:
General operations of the County
Supervision and management of department directors, excluding elected officials and County Counsel
Administering the County’s personnel system and rules
Conducting short and long term planning
Implementation of the Board’s goals and policies
Administering the County’s public contracting and purchasing processes
Acting as the organization’s Budget Officer and developing the County’s proposed annual budget
Ensuring compliance with state laws, ordinances, service contracts, and all orders, and resolutions, policies, rules, procedures, and regulations adopted by the Board of County Commissioners
COMPENSATION:
$170,000 to $220,000 Annual Dependent on qualifications. Excellent County benefit package when eligible.
Minimum Qualifications: Successful candidates for this position will have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of eight years of senior or executive management experience in medium or large organizations, agencies, and/or associations. Preference will be given for:
Demonstrated leadership experience in the public sector
Master's Degree in a relevant field
