Job Description

Lewis-Clark State College invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Industrial Electronics Technology.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications:  $41,000 to $43,000.

Required Qualifications:

Lewis-Clark State College is seeking individuals to be the instructor of Industrial Electronics Technology program.  Applicant must have 8-years of current experience in Industrial Electronics; or possess an AAS degree in related field with five years of current experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with three years' of experience in Industrial Electronics; or a combination of field experience and related college education equaling eight years.  Education and experience must include working with programmable logic controllers, industrial instrumentation, motor controllers, and human-machine interfaces. In addition, applicants will need to attain Idaho teaching certification within the first three years of work, practice proper safety protocol, and follow school policies. Applicants must be willing to consider non-traditional teaching styles and times, such as on-line, hybrid, and evening or weekend classes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicant should possess mathematical skills including trigonometry, geometry, vectors, number systems, and Boolean algebra.  Some experience with microprocessors is desirable.  Working with Robotic systems a plus.

Responsibilities:

Instructs and supervises students in the Industrial Electronics Technology program.  Develop, plan, implement, and revise program and courses, curriculum, and lesson plans.  Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives.  Maintain lab equipment and program/personal certification requirements; attends faculty and educational meetings.  Assists in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts as well as ensuring safety and security for the program.  Work with program's advisory committee, industry representatives, and employers to facilitate job and internship opportunities.  Operate and maintain program budget, contribute to college-wide goals and activities by serving on committees and other institutional activities.  Applicants are required to complete CTE teacher training courses for Idaho Teaching Certification during the first 3 years of hire.
