NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, CORPORATE GIVING

We are seeking a New Business Development Officer of Corporate Giving to work in our regional headquarters in Medford, Massachusetts.
The New Business Development Officer will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective corporate donors of the work of the American Red Cross. Reporting to the Director of Development, this role will be responsible for meeting an annual revenue target by working with an assigned portfolio of corporate donors and prospects to advance the mission of the American Red Cross. The New Business Development officer will actively participate in weekly team meetings, develop account strategies to present in both a team environment and to active as well as prospective donors, keep accurate records in Salesforce, serve as an operational resource to coach and motivate colleagues and engage organizational resources to effectively implement new business development plans.
Strategy: develop and execute ongoing strategy for qualifying corporate donors in extensive research, retention and growth of contributions as well as recapture from previous donors. Works collaboratively with other departments and partners with regional development staff to create customized solicitation strategies matching the objectives of the organization and interests of the corporate donor or prospect. New Business Targets and Portfolio Management: manages an assigned portfolio of accounts and prospects with intent to discover their potential. Responsible for an annual financial goal. Develops aggregate account management plans resulting in primarily phone interaction and local face to face solicitations. Prospect Development: implements programs and activities to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward accounts at the $2,500 level or higher, with an emphasis on maximizing revenue for the America Red Cross to advance our mission. May work with community Board members and other leadership volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward appropriate donors. Updates account records in Salesforce following donor contacts. Relationship Development: accountable for cultivating relationships of organizational fundraising with focus on retention, recapture and growth. Responsible for new business development and the need to steward account relationships.
