Job Description

PeopleTec is currently seeking an Advanced Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking an advanced candidate for this position that requires project management / task lead skills. Candidate will work with a small, dynamic and multi-disciplined team of scientists, engineers and software developers to develop fast-running, physics-based models and algorithms for predicting damage, response, debris and related phenomenology of threat systems due to impact from defensive weapons. The modeling regime is broad and includes low velocity and very high velocity, endo and exoatmospheric environments, and energetic and non-energetic payloads. Candidate will lead small project teams to perform data reduction and analysis from experiments and test events, develop models/algorithms for the observed phenemonology, verify/validate model performance, translate the model/algorithm into executable code, and work with the software engineers to implement/integrate into the code baseline. This is a fast-paced environment that permits cross-training with other programs, allowing for flexibility in tasking, and growth paths through either management or the PeopleTec Technical Fellows program.


Required Skills/Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in an engineering field, preferably aerospace or mechanical
  • Understanding / application of programming skills such as Fortran, C++, Python or similar language
  • Microsoft Office skills are required (including good Excel skills)
  • Experience with BMDS, USAF, Army and/or Navy missile systems
  • Proven experience leading small projects and/or develop/maintain project schedules
  • Experience with high fidelity computational analysis (CFD, hydrocode, FEA)
  • Travel: 0-5%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.


Education Requirements:

A completed Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is required; Master's Degree is preferred.

Desired Skills:

  • High temperature fluid mechanics experience is preferred
  • Penetration mechanics and modeling material response due to directed energy
