Location:                     Nevada

Status:                         Exempt, Full-Time

Reports to:                  Director of State Strategies

Salary Range:             $70,000 - $75,000


Position Summary

All* Above All and All* Above All Action Fund, a national campaign to protect and restore Medicaid coverage of abortion, seeks an experienced and highly motivated candidate for the position of state strategist. The state strategist shapes and implements state-based advocacy and base-building efforts to restore or protect low-income communities’ access to abortion, including Medicaid coverage of abortion. They work primarily with state-based organizations, leaders, and policy makers to implement state and local advocacy and base-building campaigns to increase access to abortion for low-income women and help create a culture shift with new frames and messages that support abortion access and reproductive justice.

While the state strategist is responsible for supporting campaigns in all of the states in which All* Above All is engaged, significant focus will be on launching and managing the organization’s pro-coverage campaign in Nevada.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • In coordination with All* Above All state team, develop and implement c3 and c4 state strategy in Nevada and other priority states as needed;
  • Create and advance a set of shared policy priorities around abortion coverage and reproductive justice with progressive allies and policymakers;
  • Keep national coalition informed and updated on local efforts;
  • Provide written and verbal analysis on state progress, challenges, and lessons learned;
  • Collaborate with other members of All* team to organize national mobilizations and develop and implement movement building strategies that will strengthen reproductive justice efforts;
  • Represent All* Above All and its interests/perspectives with state and local advocates, coalitions, and policymakers; and
  • Travel (30%) in state, to other target states and cities, as well as Washington, DC for coalition meetings.

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • Expertise managing state advocacy and organizing campaigns.
  • Expertise in relationship and coalition building.
  • Excellent management, organizational and communication (both written and oral) skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, both short and long term, and multitask and shift priorities; aptitude for working under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, team-based, participatory environment as well as work autonomously.
  • Track record in accomplishing campaign goals.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related field.
  • Ability to travel, work remotely.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree welcomed.
  • A passionate belief in reproductive justice.

  • Expertise managing coalitions and organizing campaigns in Nevada.
  • Knowledge of healthcare delivery and Medicaid, with a strong understanding of their intersection with abortion access.
  • Experience with the legislative process and policy development.
  • A strong commitment to people-focused grassroots organizing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • A proven ability to analyze complex issues and translate ideas into effective strategies.
