A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT:
Room and board, and all meals provided.
Most weekends off.
Landscaping and yard maintenance
Manage recycling program.
General cleaning and re-stocking of paper products
Complete various maintenance projects with minimal supervision
Assist with opening and closing camp and basic camp operation procedures.
Assist with kitchen duties as needed including helping with food delivery, stocking shelves, dishwashing, and meal preparation.
Perform additional duties as assigned. Job duties may be subject to change pursuant to the activities of the camp, camp needs, and the organization as a whole.
REQUIREMENTS FOR MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT:
Must be a certified driver on council's behalf (clear MVR background, be at least 21 years of age and provide proof of auto insurance and motor vehicle licensing) to drive council vehicles including work trucks, vans and/or all-terrain vehicle (ATV).
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment in a safe and effective and effective manner.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS @ GSU SUMMER CAMP:
Pass a criminal background check, including sex-offender registries/driving records.
Hold/obtain Red Cross First Aid & CPR Certifications or the equivalent.
Hold/obtain a Utah Food Handlers' Permit.
Must complete Youth Protection Training within first week of employment.
Ability to communicate and work with groups of campers ages 6-17 and provide necessary verbal instruction to campers.
Understand and implement safety guidelines and standards as outlined by Girl Scouts of the USA, the American Camp Association, and any state and local codes.
Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
Ability to respond in a crisis situation.

Assist in setting up lighting and audio equipment and their related systems in the Fine Arts Auditorium, Studio Theatre, Amphitheatre facilities, community dining room or other facilities on the Cocoa campus.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field.
Five (5) years of successful experience in budget development, monitoring and reporting, fiscal planning, analysis and management, and audit compliance.
Five (5) years of experience supervising professional, technical, and support staff in a large, complex organization.

Performs required Board secretary duties as outlined in the Code of Iowa, to include record preservation, taking meeting minutes, collaborating with Treasurer to keep accurate financial records of expenses and funds.
Ensures all legal requirements are met regarding board meeting proceedings including Code of Iowa 279 and 260C appeals and Chapter 20 and 21 closed and exempt board sessions.
Composes correspondence, reports, and other documents containing sensitive information.
Collects and compiles information on budgets and other projects.
Assists the President in gathering and compiling data for presentations and/or Board of Trustees using presentation software, handouts. etc.
Gathers information, approvals, and related material for the processing of purchase orders.
Ensures appropriate distribution and disposition of correspondence, directives, complaints, and related materials.
Schedules meetings as needed including room reservations, catering needs, equipment needs, and inviting participants.
Makes travel arrangements for the Board of Trustees as needed.
Maintains personnel and leave records for the President’s direct reports.
Maintains college’s organizational chart.
Assists President with personal correspondence i.e., sympathy cards, get well cards, holiday greetings, news clippings, etc. for college
Assists with coordination of special projects or initiatives as directed by President.
Creates correspondence on behalf of the President and Board of Trustees.
Creates PowerPoint presentations for the President.
Prepares and maintains agendas and minutes for various groups including but not limited to: President Cabinet and President Leadership Group.
Participates in campus committees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field and five (5) years of administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years.

Experience with budget analysis and preparation.

Proven experience processing payroll and thorough knowledge of payroll laws and regulations across multiple governmental districts
