The Nuclear Waste Program (NWP) is looking to fill a 100/300 Area Lead (Environmental Specialist 5) position. This position is located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in Richland, WA . Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
In this position, you will evaluate site remedial actions planned by the US Department of Energy (USDOE) at the Hanford site through conducting document reviews, attending presentations by USDOE staff, and site field trips. You will apply expertise in cleanup regulations to negotiate cleanup conditions and requirements as well as guide project teams through the process of ensuring protective cleanup at the Hanford site. You will also represent the Nuclear Waste Program through explaining regulatory requirements and policies at meetings with stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to become an expert at both state and federal cleanup laws, learn facilitation as well as project management skills, and become an expert on the history and features of a portion of the Hanford site.

Duties
What makes this role unique?
In this senior-level position, you will apply state regulations within the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA)/Superfund laws at the Hanford site and work directly with US Department of Energy (USDOE) staff and their contractors as well as stakeholders and tribes to ensure state acceptance of remedial actions in the River Corridor at the Hanford Site. What you will do:
Provide project guidance and team leadership on Environmental Restoration (ER) projects along with the ER Project Manager.
Assign CERCLA documentation review to ER project team members and facilitate resolution of issues raised by project subject matter experts.
Represent the Nuclear Waste Program (NWP) in explaining regulatory requirements and policies at meetings with stakeholders.
Coordinate input from various scientific experts to develop alternative approaches to regulatory requirements.
Review and recommend regulations for CERCLA actions, air requirements, and hazardous waste requirements.
Negotiate cleanup conditions and approaches with USDOE and its contractor staff and develop final decision documents for issuance.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. Full-time equivalent experience means that any experience where working hours were less than 40 hours per week will be prorated in order to meet the equivalency of full-time. We would calculate this by looking at the total hours worked per week, divide this by 40, and then multiply by the total number of months worked. Examples of the proration calculations are:
30 hours worked per week for 20 months: (30/40) x 20 months = 15 months full-time equivalent
20 hours worked per week for 12 months: (20/40) x 12 months = 6 months full-time equivalent
Experience for both required and desired qualifications can be gained through various combinations of formal professional employment, education, and volunteer experience. A total of Ten (10) years of experience and/or education as described below: Professional level Experience in environmental analysis or control or environmental planning. Education involving a major study in environmental, physical, or one of the natural sciences, environmental planning or other allied field. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Enrollment & Eligibility Manager, and in accordance with HRSA contract requirements, the Enrollment Specialist I assists clients, either directly or through referral, with enrollment/re-enrollment in Covered CA, Medi-Cal, Medicare, and MHLA, as well as with the process of accessing Public Benefits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Screen clients using PointCare for eligibility in and assist with enrollment/re-enrollment in Covered CA, Medi-Cal, Medicare, MHLA, commercial products, Ryan White, ADAP, and PrEP-AP as well as with the process of accessing Public Benefits.
Serve as the APLA Health & Wellness point of contact for addressing issues related to health plans that are part of independent physicians associations (IPAs) that APLAHW contracts with, including, but not limited to Health Care LA IPA and Regal Medical Group.
Documents contacts and maintains files, utilizing Point Care for enrollment allowing them to accurately qualify and enroll patients into coverage, faster.
Stays current with APLA Health programs.
Follow up to verify the status of enrollment applications and assist clients who are experiencing problems.
Complete a comprehensive benefits and qualified health insurance assessment for each client.
Maintain and update all client records via eClinicalWorks electronic health record system and reviews to verify and ensure data entered are accurate.
Answer and respond to incoming telephone calls and emails regarding eligibility in qualified health plans and Public Benefits according to agency policy.
Describe what a summary of benefits document is and where to locate a summary of benefits. Explain where to find information about provider networks.
Collaborate with other programs at APLA Health & Wellness and other service organizations to facilitate the provision of services.

The Nuclear Waste Program (NWP) is looking to fill two 100 and 200 Area Specialist (Environmental Specialist 4) (In-Training) Positions. These positions will be located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in Richland, WA . Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. In these roles, you will work with the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) and their contractors on the cleanup of contaminated soil and groundwater for the Hanford Site. The challenge of these positions is evaluating the proposed methods of cleanup for the contaminated soil sites which are over 200 potential waste sites and to work with the Ecology staff hydrogeologists for evaluating the cleanup of groundwater. The area of contaminated groundwater covers several square miles. The work is challenging but also rewarding to assist in the cleanup of the most polluted site in the United States. What makes these roles unique?
In this role, you will lead reviews and recommend approval for 100 or 200 Area project documents. You will also develop Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) decision documents to achieve cleanup of the Hanford Nuclear Facility in accordance with state and federal regulations. This position assists the ER PM in regulatory analysis of proposed cleanup actions/remedies prepared by the United States Department of Energy (USDOE) and its contractors. What you will do:
Lead project staff on review of Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) work plans.
Perform independent environmental review of plans and specifications, and site plans.
Provide regulatory analysis and writing support to the review and evaluation of the existing and proposed cleanup plans for the Hanford site.
Make recommendations for enforcement actions.
Interpret state Dangerous Waste Requirements, RCRA, Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), and CERCLA regulations; agency and program policies; and technical guidelines and procedures for environmental control and management of Hanford waste sites and facilities and other facilities regulated by the Nuclear Waste Program.

The Nuclear Waste Program (NWP) is looking to fill two 100 and 200 Area Specialist (Environmental Specialist 4) (In-Training) Positions. These positions will be located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in Richland, WA . Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. In these roles, you will work with the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) and their contractors on the cleanup of contaminated soil and groundwater for the Hanford Site. The challenge of these positions is evaluating the proposed methods of cleanup for the contaminated soil sites which are over 200 potential waste sites and to work with the Ecology staff hydrogeologists for evaluating the cleanup of groundwater. The area of contaminated groundwater covers several square miles. The work is challenging but also rewarding to assist in the cleanup of the most polluted site in the United States. Agency Mission: Ecology's mission is to protect, preserve and enhance Washington's environment and to promote the wise management of our air, land, and water for the benefit of current and future generations. Duties
What makes these roles unique?
In this role, you will lead reviews and recommend approval for 100 or 200 Area project documents. You will also develop Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) decision documents to achieve cleanup of the Hanford Nuclear Facility in accordance with state and federal regulations. This position assists the ER PM in regulatory analysis of proposed cleanup actions/remedies prepared by the United States Department of Energy (USDOE) and its contractors. What you will do:
Lead project staff on review of Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) work plans.
Perform independent environmental review of plans and specifications, and site plans.
Provide regulatory analysis and writing support to the review and evaluation of the existing and proposed cleanup plans for the Hanford site.
Make recommendations for enforcement actions.
Interpret state Dangerous Waste Requirements, RCRA, Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA), and CERCLA regulations; agency and program policies; and technical guidelines and procedures for environmental control and management of Hanford waste sites and facilities and other facilities regulated by the Nuclear Waste Program.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: This is an In-Training position . T he goal class for this position is an Environmental Specialist 4 (ES4). We will consider applicants who meet the requirements for the ES4 or the ES3 levels. If the finalist meets the requirements at the ES3 level, then they will be hired as an ES3 and will be placed in a training program to become an ES4 within a specified period of time. What makes this role unique?
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our workforce communications. You will lead diversity, equity, inclusion and respect (DEIR) communication programs, plans, and strategies for internal communications and external communications. You will also be a part of a team where your creativity and energy will be channeled to develop engaging town halls, executive communications, videos and lead our intranet communications. What you will do:
Coordinate and collaborate with staff and programs to guide and review DEIR communication strategies for internal and external communications. This includes town halls and internal event planning, developing talking points, news releases, social media, web content and other products.
Plan, organize and develop learning opportunities, events and messaging that is inclusive and respectful of cultural and ethnic diversity. Engage staff and programs in developing content and setting strategic direction for this work.
Actively participate in and provide communications support to the agency’s internal DEIR development teams and workgroups. Provide expertise and lead the communications subgroup in these efforts.
Represent the agency on DEIR communications committees across state government.
Participate in agency-wide work groups for accessibility and language access.
Develop social media, blogs, and external webpage content.
Manage the agency’s primary source of internal news – Inside Ecology. Write, develop, and maintain content.

What makes this role unique?
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our workforce communications. You will lead diversity, equity, inclusion and respect (DEIR) communication programs, plans, and strategies for internal communications and external communications. You will also be a part of a team where your creativity and energy will be channeled to develop engaging town halls, executive communications, videos and lead our intranet communications. What you will do:
Coordinate and collaborate with staff and programs to guide and review DEIR communication strategies for internal and external communications. This includes town halls and internal event planning, developing talking points, news releases, social media, web content and other products.
Plan, organize and develop learning opportunities, events and messaging that is inclusive and respectful of cultural and ethnic diversity. Engage staff and programs in developing content and setting strategic direction for this work.
Actively participate in and provide communications support to the agency’s internal DEIR development teams and workgroups. Provide expertise and lead the communications subgroup in these efforts.
Represent the agency on DEIR communications committees across state government.
Participate in agency-wide work groups for accessibility and language access.
Develop social media, blogs, and external webpage content.

As part of HRM’s cross disciplinary community engagement team, the Outreach Specialist takes initiative to seek out communities where new immigrants and underserved survivors live and work and routinely participates in community events to build trust in HRM’s ability to help. The Outreach Specialist’s focus is on engaging survivors of IPSV. Current populations HRM is focused on reaching include the Spanish speaking and Latinx immigrant communities; Urdu speaking South Asian community; Muslim communities; and LGBTQ communities. Community education efforts are aimed at helping family, friends and organizations recognize and refer limited English and immigrant survivors to HRM. All participants served in Bilingual Outreach are victims of IPSV, and have also often experiencing violence during the immigration process, violence in their home country, and community based violence that includes discrimination and hate crimes. Provides safety assessment and services to persons seeking crisis assistance in person at the Highlandtown site.

Experience/ Requirements:
Two years of paid or volunteer experience providing outreach, training, or victim centered advocacy. Associate degree in Human Services field may substitute for one year experience.
Demonstrated understanding of how trauma impacts vulnerable population through direct service provision with that population.
Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish, or English and Urdu.
Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills with a strong ability to relate to a diverse range of individuals including victims, children, donors, business leaders, human service providers, and donors.
Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and timelines.
Clean driving record, current state driver’s license, and reliable personal transportation.
Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds.

Visits participants in home environments that have been determined to be safe.
Participates in HRM Service Coordination Team, Community Engagement, and Highlandtown Site meetings. Attends external collaborative meetings on a rotating basis.
Conducts on-site Platicas Informativas groups for participants in the program.
Makes recommendations concerning individual participant’s eligibility for financial assistance and expected termination date from the program.
Provide relief and back-up coverage for the Victim Coordinated Entry and Lethality Assessment Program teams when language services are needed.
Spanish speaking staff members share coverage and triage services at HRM’s Highlandtown office to ensure victim access for Spanish speaking victims and survivors.
Experience/ Requirements:
Two years of paid or volunteer experience providing outreach, training, or victim centered advocacy. Associate degree in Human Services field may substitute for one year experience.
Demonstrated understanding of how trauma impacts vulnerable population through direct service provision with that population.
Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish, or English and Urdu.
Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills with a strong ability to relate to a diverse range of individuals including victims, children, donors, business leaders, human service providers, and donors.
Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and timelines.
Clean driving record, current state driver’s license, and reliable personal transportation.
Ability to lift and carry items up to 20 pounds.

Keeping Washington Clean and Evergreen The Nuclear Waste Program (NWP) is looking to fill a Closure/Post-Closure Compliance Inspector (Environmental Specialist 4) (In-Training) position. This position is located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in Richland, WA . Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. What makes this role unique?
Our closure/post-closure units have long and interesting histories dating back more than 30 years. These units disposed of mixed radioactive/dangerous waste, requiring a working knowledge of radiation in addition to hazardous waste. In this role, closure actions are coordinated with Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA aka “Superfund”) offering the opportunity to learn these extensive sets of regulations. You will enjoy independent work during inspection scopes and reports, and you will also work as part of a team during peer review and revision of reports. What you will do:
Research the process history and compliance history of each of 37 facilities as you prepare to inspect them.
Consult with the permitting team and your fellow inspectors, put their suggestions into your inspection scope, and develop inspection questions.
Go to Hanford facilities, inspect them on a walk-through, and ask questions of facility personnel.
Assess each facility’s compliance with regulations based on your research and site visit.
Write inspection reports that identify corrective actions for any compliance issues that you find.
Work with your inspection team and the permitting teams to ensure that corrective actions are made in a timely manner.

POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, the Child Abuse Prevention Center (CAP Center), is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as the Director of Policy for Prevent Child Abuse California (PCACA) and the California Family Resource Association (CFRA). This individual will be responsible for policy (legislative activities and advocacy for the CAP Center) and for CFRA’s membership (leadership, operations, oversight, effectiveness, and sustainability).
The Director of Policy is the chief policy leader for the organization, working directly with the legislature, the executive branch, Family Resource Center partners, and advocacy collaborations. The Director is responsible for developing a policy platform, initiating legislation, strategic partnerships, and budget proposals. This position is also responsible for CFRA’s membership (including internal and external communications, identifying emerging needs and opportunities for the association and its members, and ensuring member satisfaction, retention, and growth).

Our client, the Child Abuse Prevention Center (CAP Center), is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as the Director of Policy for Prevent Child Abuse California (PCACA) and the California Family Resource Association (CFRA).
