Job Description

Founded in 1936, the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has grown into America's largest and most trusted grassroots conservation organization with 51 state/territorial affiliates and more than six million members and supporters. The mission of the National Wildlife Federation is to unite all Americans to ensure wildlife thrive in our rapidly changing world, and the Federation is committed to inspiring all people around our shared love of nature and wildlife by creating a welcoming and inclusive community representative of all Americans.  By respecting and valuing the diversity of connections to the natural world and wildlife, we work toward convening a powerful movement.  We are seeking a Membership Marketing Senior Coordinator to join our team to primarily focus on coordinating the marketing efforts of membership programs as strategy, concept, copy, design, and production elements are being approved. In this role you will work closely with multiple NWF departments when coordinating the creative approval process.

In conjunction with the Sr. Manager, you will be the final set of eyes and will provide final approvals for set-ups, proofs, and mail shop instructions for all programs. You will fully own the marketing coordination from start to finish, and will maximize performance on each individual campaign as well as the overall program. To do this, you must consistently deliver high quality, timely, and cost effective marketing efforts.

In this job you will:

  • Provide final approvals for mail shop instructions, print proofs, and laser set-ups for direct mail campaigns.
  • Create and be responsible for the creative schedule to ensure that deadlines are met and final product meets expectations.
  • Work closely with the Production Team(s) to ensure scheduling, logistical, and cost issues are discussed and resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Receive, track, and vigilantly proof copy and artwork to ensure they meet creative concept and execution expectations.
  • Circulate artwork and copy to appropriate staff and/or stakeholders for approval in a timely manner. Once approvals are returned, make necessary changes and submit to Sr. Manager and/or Director for final approval.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Must have one year of professional experience in membership, fundraising, or direct mail marketing and/or production.
  • Must have experience working with a variety of out-sourced vendors.
  • Passion for the preservation and protection of wildlife and wild places is highly desirable.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starting, with the demonstrated ability to work independently and, when necessary, as an integral part of the team.
  • Must have strong project management skills, extremely high level attention to detail, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Must have good correspondence, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Must have the ability to learn and use a variety of computer programs.

Your actions are expected to reflect the staff values of the National Wildlife Federation: collaboration, mindfulness, empowerment, inclusivity, and mission focus.

We strive to increase diversity, equity, inclusion and justice (DEIJ) in all elements of our work and with our partners to support the interdependent needs of wildlife and people in a rapidly changing world.  We recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote regardless of race, of race, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity (including gender nonconformity and status as a transgender or transsexual individual), age, physical or mental disability, citizenship, genetic information, past, current or prospective service in the uniformed services, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law.  We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

The National Wildlife Federation offers excellent benefits, including 16 weeks of paid FMLA leave, competitive compensation, and a family-friendly, flexible work environment.  We are committed to building a complementary team and strongly support candidates from all backgrounds to apply. If you meet more than 75% of the qualifications of this description, we support your application. If selected, a background check will be conducted.

Candidates should submit both a cover letter and resume.
