What is a Volunteer Support Specialist?
The Volunteer Support Specialist is responsible for duties relating to the onboarding and retention of volunteers and girl members. Responsible for implementing and assessing comprehensive year-round membership support strategies that increase girl and volunteer membership and enhance retention. The Volunteer Support Specialist develops and works closely with teams of service unit volunteers and direct-service volunteers to ensure they have the necessary resources to provide high-quality program experiences to girls. Develop, cultivate, and support relationships with service unit and troop volunteers in assigned area to support delivery of Girl Scout programming.
Develop and implement volunteer support plans that align with organizational strategy in volunteer and youth retention, GSLE delivery, service unit development, and volunteer communications, assessment and recognition.
Support troop leadership teams and caregivers in completing renewal of their Girl Scout membership on an annual basis. Communicate that membership registration is a requirement of participation in the Girl Scout program.

Provide potential new members with a consistent message about Girl Scouting and all of the possible ways to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made in order to meet membership goal.
Establish the appropriate volunteer support team to accomplish key priorities by selecting, appointing, and coaching recruitment and community engagement volunteers in assigned geographic areas.
Support service unit development and maintenance through implementation of recruitment and support strategies.
Seek opportunities and keep in contact with local community organizations, agencies and leaders, educators, and faith-based institutions to increase awareness of Girl Scouting and support member recruitment efforts.

In 2022, The Humane League launched the Animal Policy Alliance (APA), a national network of state and local animal protection and food policy advocacy groups in the US that include animals raised for food among their legislative priorities. Their mission is to unite to end large scale animal cruelty through policy change. To accomplish this mission, the APA works to facilitate sharing of resources and best practices, provide trainings, develop and coordinate strategies for public policy campaigns and provide the capacity building and support necessary for those strategies to succeed.
As the Animal Policy Alliance Program Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the growth and operation of the APA. You will be accountable for working as part of a small team to develop and oversee the Alliance’s member support and recruitment strategies, coordinate and implement the development of resources and trainings, coordinate APA members around strategic policy objectives, and publicly represent the Alliance. This position reports directly to the Director of Public Policy.
This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic travel for an annual staff retreat, conferences, and to meet with alliance members, this is equivalent to approximately 3-6 trips per year.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Alliance Development and Support
Plays a lead role in developing executing the Alliance’s member support strategies, including hosting various events, trainings, mentorship programs, webinars, and other resources that will improve member group’s ability to effectively grow their political power and advocate for legislative change for animals raised for food.
Establishes and maintains relationships with APA member groups while employing a high level of emotional intelligence. This includes fielding incoming communications and sending updates to coalition members.
Advises on and contributes to the development of the APA website, and updates the website as needed. This includes supporting the development and maintenance of a resources database for local and state-level animal protection groups that will be hosted on the Alliance website. This database will include but not be limited to templates for legislative fact sheets, lobbying materials, action alert templates, capacity-building tools, and links to external resources.
Onboards member groups, including adding them to APA communication platforms, uploads member data, provides access to resource databases as well as other supporting materials and services.
In partnership with colleagues on the THL Public Policy team, supports the coordination of member groups around local, state and national public policy campaigns.
Assists as needed in the operation of a grant program for Alliance members, including communications with members about grants.
Uses and manages Salesforce to facilitate APA CRM.
Plays a key role in evaluating member groups’ capacity, capabilities, and needs. This includes collecting, organizing, and maintaining documentation and data on Alliance member groups.
Supports the launch of new organizations that will be members of the APA.
Communications
Manages communications platforms for the Alliance, including Google Groups and potentially Slack; maintains and updates communications protocols for the Alliance.
Curates content for and drafts a monthly newsletter for APA members.
Events
In partnership with THL event planning staff, plans and implements the APA’s annual national summit, webinars, and training events, including development, procurement of content and recruitment of speakers for these events.
Recruits experts and manages contract work with them in developing specialized public policy advocacy trainings and webinars.
Plans and facilitates strategic discussions at the annual APA Summit, as well as on APA conference calls, Google Group communications, and online APA chat forums such as Slack.
Other Responsibilities
Eventually supports the work of a (yet to be established) 501(c)(4) advocacy entity affiliated with THL and Alliance members’ public policy work. This will include tracking all time spent working on tasks for the 501(c)(4).
Tracks and reports time supporting the planning and coordination of lobbying activities, and potentially registers as a lobbyist, where applicable.

What You Will Do: The Regional Manager is responsible for managing a team of specialists to implement all aspects of the council's member engagement strategy to increase Girl Scout and adult volunteer membership and enhance retention. What You Will Do: The Regional Manager is responsible for managing a team of specialists to implement all aspects of the council's member engagement strategy to increase Girl Scout and adult volunteer membership and enhance retention. This position contributes to development of regional membership goals and strategy in coordination with the Chief Membership & Program Officer and VP of Membership to achieve exemplary performance.
People Management
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned regional membership team.
Provide leadership to and manage the performance of members of the assigned regional membership team to accomplish objectives stated in the plan of work.
Membership Development
Direct implementation of comprehensive recruitment campaigns and strategies at the regional level in coordination with statewide strategy.
Direct implementation of regional volunteer support plans that align with organizational strategy in volunteer and girl retention, GSLE delivery, Service Unit development, and volunteer communications, assessment, and recognition.
Facilitate conflict resolution as issues arise in the region, escalating as needed.
Collaborate with statewide adult learning staff to ensure new volunteer learning opportunities are available and implemented in the region.
Active participation in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude.
Regional Administrative Duties
Support the development of a regional budget and monitors associated regional expenses.

About the Program:
The Green Accountability Project works to strengthen the ability of a diverse range of civil society actors, including in vulnerable communities, to access needed climate policy and finance information, participate in and shape climate-related governance processes and play important roles in influencing climate policy. The Project runs a small grants fund to equip civil society with resources to ensure fruitful engagement with public authorities to improve climate governance. The Project also facilitates a global community of practice to foster peer-to-peer learning, knowledge sharing, and the formation of accountability practices.

You will be responsible for budget and operations for the Center for Equitable Development’s Environmental Democracy Practice, specifically a $4.5 million grant funding the Green Accountability Project.
Your specific tasks will include drafting and monitoring contracts and sub grants, coordinating with international sub grantees on grant reporting, tracking spending, processing payments and expense reports, managing team meetings, and other tasks as assigned.

With the guidance of their manager, develop and execute medium-to-high touch cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a network of approximately 500 donors making 3- to 4-figure gifts totaling $425,000 annually.
Regularly meet with existing and prospective donors through virtual and in-person meetings to cultivate support for The Humane League’s work.
Consistently engage THL’s mid-level supporters through sharing quarterly reports, inviting them to virtual events, and soliciting feedback.
Regularly thank new donors through phone and written communication. Follow up with donors who are lapsed or up for renewal to solicit their renewal.
Advance THL’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging by seeking a diverse range of THL donors to highlight in our publications; providing engagement opportunities to those who give to THL in smaller amounts; and exploring opportunities for THL to reach new communities in a way that is respectful and collaborative.
Support the promotion of fundraising and cultivation events, including quarterly virtual town halls.
Collaborate with Development staff to qualify and upgrade mid-level giving prospects from our annual fund.
Stay current on The Humane League’s programs and theory of change, as well as the trends in the animal protection movement as a whole, to effectively articulate our mission and represent our work to the public.
Maintain detailed donor files in the donor database and all related projects in THL’s project management system (Asana) regularly and with consistency.
Stay current on philanthropic opportunities, including but not limited to, legacy giving, foundation giving, leadership giving, and peer-to-peer giving.
Provide research, reporting, and strategy for the mid-level program, utilizing THL’s systems, software, and SOPs, with full comprehension and continued learning for increased support and efficiencies.
Support the development of expertise in the entire Donor Relations team by sharing learning, providing guidance, and collaborating on developing improved processes.

REQUIRED SKILLS
The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:
2 years of professional experience in fundraising, direct marketing, or grassroots organizing.
Mission alignment: An understanding of or willingness to understand farm animal welfare issues.
Communication: Solid ability to communicate persuasively verbally and in writing. Exceptional listening and social skills, including curiosity, appreciation, and diplomacy. Comfortable making repeated thank-you calls.
Strategic thinking: Ability to develop and execute high-earning fundraising strategies based on data extrapolated from our donor relations database.

Maintain detailed donor files in the donor database and all related projects in THL’s project management system (Asana) regularly and with consistency.
Stay current on philanthropic opportunities, including but not limited to, legacy giving, foundation giving, leadership giving, and peer-to-peer giving.
Provide research, reporting, and strategy for the mid-level program, utilizing THL’s systems, software, and SOPs, with full comprehension and continued learning for increased support and efficiencies.
Support the development of expertise in the entire Donor Relations team by sharing learning, providing guidance, and collaborating on developing improved processes.

REQUIRED SKILLS
The ideal candidate will possess most, if not all the following qualities, skills, and characteristics:
2 years of professional experience in fundraising, direct marketing, or grassroots organizing.
Mission alignment: An understanding of or willingness to understand farm animal welfare issues.

Updates and maintains project funding and allocations with workstream director and project managers utilizing WRI's budgeting and forecasting software (TM1)
Process invoices and payments for projects in compliance with WRI's policies (subgrants, consultancies, work orders, etc.)
Assist the project team in the project closeout process, including turnover documentation and financial reconciliation and manages financial reporting to donors
Coordinate and advise team monthly on budget management and prepare financial review template for review with workstream director and operations staff
Develop fiscal year budget forecasts on a yearly basis with operations and your workstream director; develop proposals budgets for new opportunities
Provide timesheet guidance to the Data & Tools Cities team members on a bi-weekly basis
Grant Management (20%):
Monitor program or project performance against contract requirements and deliverables
Guide partner organizations and consultants to help them understand and comply with subgrant and contract requirements following funder policies
Process documentation for project commitments (i.e., agreements, contracts, work authorizations, and purchase orders)
Support reporting on grants, including gathering information on accomplishments, activities, and challenges for funders
Supports donor and grants management by keeping database software (Salesforce) up to date
What will you need:
Education: You have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, public policy, political science, non-profit management, international affairs, or similar subject
Experience: You have a minimum of 3+ years full-time relevant work experience in financial management, budgeting, administration, nonprofit operations or a related, relevant field
You have experience organizing and managing detailed and complex budgeting structures, donor reporting and/or grant or financial management
You have experience supporting the operations or management of complex, multi-year, multi-partner projects
You have experience working with international teams or projects

Data and Urban Finance are cross-cutting themes that inform all of our solution offerings. Job Summary: The Operations team is a part of the WRI Ross Center’s Core Functions, responsible for the coordination and support of the entire program’s activities and strategic direction. The Grants and Finance Specialist I for this team plays a central role in this institutional coordination by helping to ensure the financial health of the program and its compliance with donor requests and restrictions. Job Summary: The Operations team is a part of the WRI Ross Center’s Core Functions, responsible for the coordination and support of the entire program’s activities and strategic direction. The Grants and Finance Specialist I for this team plays a central role in this institutional coordination by helping to ensure the financial health of the program and its compliance with donor requests and restrictions. Job Responsibilities:
Financial Management (50% of time)
Update and maintain project budgets utilizing WRI’s budgeting and forecasting software (TM1)
Update and maintain project funding and allocations in coordination with workstream director(s) and project managers
Process invoices and payments for projects in compliance with WRI’s policies (subgrants, consultancies, work orders, etc.)
Assist project team in project closeout process including turnover documentation and financial reconciliation
Coordinate and advise on project budget management and reports

Our Vision for the Early Career Program Specialist
Making Waves Foundation is seeking a skilled professional to join their Early Career & Alumni team and assist Wave Makers and recent college graduates with career planning and support. The Early Career Program Specialist will play a crucial role in providing direct support to the department and collaborating with the Wave Makers, Alumni, Coaching team, and the Marketing & Storytelling team to promote career exposure, exploration, and experience. Making Waves Foundation is an education nonprofit that supports historically underserved and underrepresented students to pursue college and career pathways that set them up for a thriving career, financial independence, and a choice-filled life.
We support Making Waves Academy (MWA), a 5-12 grade public charter school in Richmond, CA. After high school graduation, each of our students (we call them “Wave-Makers”) are invited to join our college success and early career program, where they can receive a need-based scholarship, one-to-one college coaching, and financial literacy training. Each year, we support over 1,200 students in grades 5-12 and over 500 college students on their journeys to and through college. In 2020, Making Waves Foundation launched a new strategic plan to serve more students and families. We will do this by taking the best of what we’ve learned at Making Waves Academy about college access and the best of what we’ve learned at Making Waves Foundation about college success and work to increase the college attendance and graduation rate for low-income students across Contra Costa County and beyond.

Making Waves Foundation is seeking a skilled professional to join their Early Career & Alumni team and assist Wave Makers and recent college graduates with career planning and support. Job Summary:
As the center of the NanoString Commercial Operating System territory. Clear strategic intentions convey the local team’s purpose making it clear how everyone can contribute and make their mark to meet and exceed quota. The Regional Account Manager is responsible for identifying and establishing, a successful Regional Account Manager will provide strategic direction and tactical focus within the assigned relationships with new and established customer accounts for the sale of capital equipment and consumable utilization of existing instrument placements. The RAM will work closely with the Life Sciences commercial teams including Field Application Scientists, Consumable Sales Representatives, Regional Marketing and Technical Sales Specialists to ensure successful partnering to achieve territory revenue goals.
Requirements: MS or BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field. A strong understanding and familiarity with gene expression technologies including qPCR, microarray analysis and Next Generation Sequencing. A minimum of 5 or more years of field experience with a proven track record of success. An ability to travel 25-50% of the time (territory dependent). Ability to create and deliver highly effective presentations. Highly self-motivated with a desire to participate in the growth and success of the commercial team. Effective organizational and administration skills including CRM and process documentation experience with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent time management and project management skills. Ability to effectively participate in cross functional teams to launch new products or investigate customer issues
Essential Responsibilities:
Establish relationships with new accounts and secure sales with new customers that achieve assigned sales quotas including monthly and quarterly linearity targets.
Drive the entire capital equipment sales cycle from initial customer engagement to closed sales including pilot projects.
Prospect for potential customers using various direct methods such as calling and face to face meetings, and indirect methods such as networking and partnering with FAS and CSR.
Create a funnel of current and future opportunities in territory to increase consumable utilization of each installed platform
Qualify prospects against company criteria for ideal customers and sales stage gating.
Consult with prospect about business challenges and requirements, as well as the range of options and value proposition of each.
Maintain a high level of relevant domain knowledge in order to have meaningful conversations with prospects.
Identify and present to key decision makers including senior executives and managers.
Work with technical support and marketing product specialists where required to address customer requirements.
Develop and maintain territory plans with the TSS, FAS and CSR, which outline how sales targets will be met on an ongoing basis.
Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for company to deliver value, strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes and forecasted sales.
Highly effective CRM management including detailed notes on prospect and customer interactions and funnel management to enable forecasts on best case and most likely sales revenue for current and next quarter.
Cultivate strong relationships with third party and partner companies that may be required to deliver full solutions to customers (ie. cell sorting and quality antibodies).
Partner with Marketing to plan and execute lead generation campaigns.
Provide feedback to sales management on ways to decrease the sales cycle, enhance sales, and improve company brand and reputation.
Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings.
Identify sales support requirements and work with marketing to develop improved sales tools.
Be a positive representative of the company and its brand in the marketplace.
Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity.
