Maintain constant professional communication and partnership with caregivers regarding the mental and emotional health care and services provided to campers.
Provide support and oversight in routine and emergency health procedures in consultation with the executive camp director and in keeping with established guidelines.
Provide a comfortable, soothing, and caring environment and space for all people.
Encourage self-care among campers and staff by communicating needs, taking breaks, utilizing rest times, mindfulness strategies, and advocating for mental, and emotional health.
Responsible for the cleanliness, organization, care, maintenance, and inventory of assigned areas.
Provide requisitions for 'wellness kit' supplies, or various resources needed.
Program Responsibilities
Provide wellness, mindfulness, 'Popsicles of Positivity', and team building programs, with a focus on self-care, positivity, kindness, empathy, and JEDI practices.
Assist with the implementation of general camp program for campers during overnight, troop day, and family camp sessions.
Camper Leadership & Supervision
Provide care and supervision for all cases of mental illness, emotional support, neurodivergent persons, and special considerations of campers.
At all times, act 'in loco parentis' regarding the wellness services for all campers in overnight camp sessions.
Accountable for assuring campers receive quality wellness health care.
Support & counsel campers in daily living, camp activities, and developing peer relationships.
Staff Leadership & Supervision
Provide support to staff seeking help/assistance in areas of mental, emotional, and social health.
Aid staff when reports of child abuse/neglect are made and contacting county due to the reporting of child abuse/neglect.
Perform initial and ongoing training in mental health, wellness practices, homesickness prevention & support, behavioral and special considerations, bullying/aggressive behavior, and guidance (discipline) strategies, for the purposes of staff continued education.
Continually evaluate staff on the camp-wide mental, emotional, and social health procedures & practices.
Provide mental health first aid advice according to procedures.
Provide in-person medication administration training for staff, as needed & assigned.
Verify staff competence before assigning them health care/first aid care role. Follow up on treatment given. Monitor staff performance throughout the season.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
Accountable for the documentation, review, and submission of all reports/situations, occurrences due to mental/emotional/social health issues.
Participate in camper and staff feedback forms as necessary for the overall camp's strategic planning.
Respect the confidential nature of all information pertaining to staff, volunteers, and campers.
Participate in regular staff meetings and training for planning purposes, communication resolutions, and carrying out assignments.
Coordinate and communicate schedules to campers & staff as necessary.
Carry out ongoing observations to assure that goals and expectations of leadership & care are positive and appropriate.
Interact with digital systems including WorkBright, CampMinder, Office365, Slack, Instagram, & Facebook.

The Department of Community Justice (DCJ) is recognized as a national leader in both adult and juvenile community justice. DCJ routinely consults and makes use of evidence-based practices in our program and policy development. The Department's commitment to data-informed decision-making has led DCJ to make smart investments of taxpayer dollars in supervision, sanctions, and services for the county's highest risk and highest need justice-involved individuals. DCJ makes long-term investments in its employees through the provision of education and training. Every day, Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster, this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather, natural disaster, or other types of community emergency response. The Community Based Research Evaluation Analyst Senior supports the Department of Community Justice (DCJ) with application of community-based methodologies and racial equity to collaboratively lead the design and implementation of research, program evaluations, and community engagement processes that responsibly seeks and prioritizes the voice of service recipients and the community, especially Black, Indigenous, Latine, Asian/American and Communities of Color.

You will analyze and review federal, state and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures in order to ensure compliance with Oregon Detention Guidelines, applicable Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS), and Behavior Rehabilitation Services (BRS) Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR); serve as the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Facility Manager; conduct analysis on best practices and trends, and formulate and implement recommendations; develop, implement, and maintain quality management and change management plans and systems to ensure compliance and achieve expected outcomes.
You will develop, administer and monitor a budget of over $10 million; approve expenditures with strict adherence to County finance rules; develop justifications and make budgetary recommendations to the DCJ Executive Team; participate in forecasting additional funding requirements for staffing and resources; identify, obtain, and manage funding from grants, contracts and other funding streams; participate in the interpretation, negotiation, management, and enforcement of contracts; and coordinate the finalization of budgets to ensure the timely submission of the department budget.
Additionally, you will negotiate, problem solve, and collaborate closely with contractors and other partner organizations including the Oregon Youth Authority, Oregon Department of Human Services - Child Welfare, Multnomah County District Attorney's Office, State Court System, Multnomah Education Service District, Multnomah County Health Department, Annie E. JSD Senior Managers are responsible for a team of 5-7 subordinate managers who oversee employees who work in Detention and Residential Services or Court and Community Supervision Services. The Department of Community Justice is looking for a Senior Manager/Leader who can demonstrate expertise in the following areas:
Leadership and Direction: You provide a sense of direction through a clear vision to create change in the juvenile justice system that serves the interests of multiple stakeholders including the public, justice-involved youth and their families, victims, community groups, employees, other agencies and the judiciary using evidence based practices. You bring your leadership, operational oversight and advocacy experience to the daily operations and administrative functions of the assigned division.
Networking and Collaboration: You serve on the department's Senior Leadership Team as a principal advisor and participant in decision making processes where budget and operational direction are made that impact the entire department. Quality Assurance, Analysis of Performance Data, Realignment, and Budget Adjustments: You maintain oversight of evidence based practices, state-wide outcome measures and department benchmarks to ensure that the department is deepening efforts in researched based practices. You will review outcome data and benchmarks through a review of management reports, research and evaluation data, results audits, performance appraisals and meetings with managers. You monitor and participate in the development and administration of the division budget, including forecasting of resources needed, expenditures, and recommend mid-year or other adjustments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): The American Red Cross’ Service to the Armed Forces Hero Care Center, serves military members and their families worldwide, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, 7 days a week. Hero Care Center caseworkers are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing emergency assistance both online and by phone. By collecting and verifying accurate information, we are able to assist military commands in making decisions for emergency leave and serve as an overall resource for veterans and their families. We also provide current military members and military retirees access to emergency and routine financial assistance in situations and circumstances where they qualify. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities): Interviews callers and coordinates requests for service to include recording all client information in the case management system; determining eligibility for American Red Cross services; assessing client needs; and providing appropriate services to clients. Performs related case activities including obtaining verifications, delivering messages, coordinating case management services with other Red Cross units, and/or providing other follow-up actions needed for complete and timely client service. Composes and delivers emergency communication messages to domestic and overseas military locations. Standard Schedule: Our SAF Hero Care Center in Ft Sill, OK has an exciting career opportunity available for a full-time Hero Care Center Caseworker on the first shift. This position will be scheduled 40 hours per week, and the first shift runs from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, on a rotating day schedule that includes weekends and holidays. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications): High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Preferentially, this should include one year of work experience in a social service agency or service contact center is required with at least one year of direct interaction with and delivery of services to clients in distress. Familiarity with medical terminology and military community required At least one year of customer focused experience Candidates must have the ability to work in fast paced, demanding, complex and dynamic environment. The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Applicants must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and typing speed of 40 wpm or higher. Both speed, accuracy and grammatical competence is factored into overall typing abilities. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong computer skills, to include use of Internet search tools, Intranet, and Microsoft Office Suite. Positions can vary from 48 – 80% remote work. Some functions related to military electronic access require physical presence in the office. When working remotely the employee must be able to provide a private office or workspace suitable for confidential conversations and handling of sensitive information. The employee must be able to access a dedicated high speed / broadband internet service with sufficient bandwidth and speed to support the contact center and case management applications and tools. Laptop and additional monitor will be provided by the Red Cross. Ability to work on a team WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications): Experience in using an electronic customer relationship (CRM) or Case Management System (CMS) or similar customer centric relational database is strongly preferred. Viable candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to apply active listening skills and employ reasoning and questioning strategies to capture, analyze, interpret and synthesize information from clients, staff, and management. They must also be adept at multi-tasking and have the ability to shift focus as operational, service delivery and staff needs demand. Demonstrated ability to treat people with respect under all circumstances and instill trust in others while upholding the values and principles of the American Red Cross is essential.
