Additional Information:
Starting Salary Expectations: $41,724 yearly to $57,060 yearly; based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
Position Salary Range: up to $61,032 Annual Salary
This position receives annual increases on anniversary date until the maximum of the salary range is reached.
Upon PERS eligibility , employees will receive a 6.95% increase to their base salary and will pay the employee 6% contribution to PERS .

This position is on the Intensive Services Unit, a specialized team within the Behavioral Health Division. This unit coordinates behavioral health services for individuals in Oregon most impacted by health inequalities including, but not limited to:
people who have entered the behavioral health system through Oregon’s courts and other justice involved populations.
people with complex clinical needs, often with co-occurring mental health, substance use disorders, medical issues, and sometimes intellectual disabilities and traumatic brain injuries.
In addition, many people served by this unit have suffered major trauma and continue to struggle with housing and other social determinants of health.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative, planning, and program support to the Intensive Services Unit, in service to transformative and community-led initiatives involving forensic behavioral health, including four primary areas: Aid and Assist, Civil Commitment, Jail Diversion, and Guilty Except for Insanity/Psychiatric Security Review Board (GEI/PSRB).

The Spill Prevention, Preparedness, and Response Program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Spill Responder (Environmental Specialist 3) position. This position is located in our Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA . Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. From industrial facilities to illegal drug labs to sunken boats, our work to stop releases of hazardous materials to the environment is unique and challenging. In this position, you will respond to oil and HAZMAT spills, safely manage dangerous waste, provide training, and develop local response partnerships. You will collaborate with law enforcement, fire service, other environmental agencies, Tribes, and other partners. Our focus on relationships builds opportunities for environmental protection as well as personal growth. Please Note: This position is required to serve as a duty officer for an after-hours, on-call pager duty on a regular rotation. Upon completion of the required training and successful medical surveillance baseline examination, the candidate will be assigned to the Emergency Spill Response Team and will be eligible for a 10% assignment pay . Likewise, Spill Responders are periodically required to be on call outside of scheduled work hours and are paid an hourly Standby Rate of 7% of the regular hourly rate . Also, if you work on a response activity outside of your scheduled work hours, you will receive Responder Pay of 150% of your regular hourly pay. What makes this role unique?
In this role, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team and use science to solve complex environmental and public health challenges. Working with other federal, state, local, and Tribal response partners, spill responders serve as Ecology’s State On-Scene Coordinator leading the response and cleanup of complex environmental spills. The most challenging aspect of the work is coordinating with others under stress. However, every response is a new opportunity to collaborate with partner agencies and impacted citizens. You will use skill and empathy to mitigate stresses so that everyone involved is able to perform at their best and get the job done safely. What you will do:
Conduct responses to spills of oil and HAZMAT, abandoned waste, fish kills, pressurized cylinders, illegal drug manufacturing facilities, and other environmental and human health emergencies.
Under supervision, conduct operations to control, contain, and cleanup spills, and investigate their cause.
Under supervision, perform hands-on cleanup actions at oil and HAZMAT spills and illegal drug manufacturing facilities.
As State On-Scene Coordinator, oversee cleanup actions of spillers and their contractors.
Complete detailed documentation of response actions.
Complete ongoing training related to growth and competence as a Spill Responder.
Ensure safe and appropriate management of dangerous wastes generated as part of emergency oil and hazmat cleanup activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. Full-time equivalent experience means that any experience where working hours were less than 40 hours per week will be prorated in order to meet the equivalency of full-time. We would calculate this by looking at the total hours worked per week, divide this by 40, and then multiply by the total number of months worked. Examples of the proration calculations are:
30 hours worked per week for 20 months: (30/40) x 20 months = 15 months full-time equivalent
20 hours worked per week for 12 months: (20/40) x 12 months = 6 months full-time equivalent

80-hour HAZWOPER Technician Certification is required meeting the Hazardous Materials Specialist requirements in WAC 296-824 and 296-843 (can be obtained after hire). Current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher certificate is also required (can be obtained after hire).

Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license and maintain the license throughout employment.

Assess Threats to Worker Safety & Perform Field Duties in a Safe Manner – Safety of workers and the public is the first priority of spill response positions. You will receive SPPR Program safety training and demonstrate understanding and performance of safe field operations. Threats to worker safety may include physical, chemical, biological hazards of materials; traffic; site conditions; weather; and threats posed by animals or contentious people at a work site.
Hazardous Materials Management – Accurate assessment of hazards from chemicals involved in environmental incidents is critical to the effective performance of this position. You will receive the training and equipment to perform this competency. Certification as a Hazardous Materials Specialist under State law is required before independently acting as the State On-Scene Coordinator during incidents.
Must live within a 60-minute commuting distance of Ecology’s Central Region Office in Union Gap, WA.

The Spill Prevention, Preparedness, and Response Program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Spill Responder (Environmental Specialist 3) position. This position is located in our Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA . Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. From industrial facilities to illegal drug labs to sunken boats, our work to stop releases of hazardous materials to the environment is unique and challenging. In this position, you will respond to oil and HAZMAT spills, safely manage dangerous waste, provide training, and develop local response partnerships. You will collaborate with law enforcement, fire service, other environmental agencies, Tribes, and other partners. Our focus on relationships builds opportunities for environmental protection as well as personal growth. Please Note: This position is required to serve as a duty officer for an after-hours, on-call pager duty on a regular rotation. Upon completion of the required training and successful medical surveillance baseline examination, the candidate will be assigned to the Emergency Spill Response Team and will be eligible for a 10% assignment pay . Likewise, Spill Responders are periodically required to be on call outside of scheduled work hours and are paid an hourly Standby Rate of 7% of the regular hourly rate . Also, if you work on a response activity outside of your scheduled work hours, you will receive Responder Pay of 150% of your regular hourly pay. Maintenance Specialist General Duties: The Maintenance Specialist Assists in the care and maintenance of assigned property. Maintenance Specialist General Duties: The Maintenance Specialist Assists in the care and maintenance of assigned property. Works with entire camp team to deliver services and maintain the site in a safe working order at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. To help reduce the level of risk, ensures that all safety-related projects/needs are completed in a swift and timely manner and helps prepare facilities for changing weather conditions.
Responsible for performing various skilled trade tasks for facility maintenance and construction projects.
Cross Functional Work
Supports care of livestock, providing feeding, and daily chores.
Assists with the delivery of equipment, machinery, luggage, and various materials when needed.
Deliver emergency support during on-site incidents.
Provide and support safe and healthy practices.
In coordination with the camp team, facilitate camper program delivery, check-in & check-out procedures, orientation, and other operational logistics.
Assist with the management of site and program equipment, including storage, care, inventory, and maintenance.
Provide additional support as necessary to facility staff, camp team, kitchen, and housekeeping staff members.
Administration
Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
Work on the development of daily and weekly schedules, under the direction of supervisors and in cooperation with all staff.
Coordinate and communicate schedules to campers & staff as necessary.
Participate in regular staff meetings and training for planning purposes, communication resolutions, and carrying out assignments.
Provide & participate in staff feedback forms as necessary for the camp's overall strategic planning.
Interact with digital systems including WorkBright, Slack, Instagram, & Facebook.
Respect the confidential nature of all information pertaining to staff, volunteers, and campers.
Follow policies, procedures, and standards set by the American Camping Association, Girl Scouts Safety Activity Checkpoints, Colorado Department of Health and Human Services, and other certifying industry organizations.

Maintenance Specialist General Duties: The Maintenance Specialist Assists in the care and maintenance of assigned property. Works with entire camp team to deliver services and maintain the site in a safe working order at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Camp Facility Responsibilities

The Supply Specialist III works under limited supervision to assist Fleet and Supply Manager, Central Store Manager, and Inventory Control Manager in accomplishment of the Central Warehouse mission. Main responsibilities of the position include order pulling, receiving goods, and delivery as well as basic computer operations to include data entry, processing, and email communications.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma and valid SC driver’s license required. Basic knowledge of receipt control, storeroom, warehousing, and delivery related areas preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with material handling equipment, including a forklift and other standard equipment preferred but not required (current staff will train as needed). Must be able to communicate effectively. Basic knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and inventory procedures preferred. Job Purpose
The Supply Specialist III works under limited supervision to assist Fleet and Supply Manager, Central Store Manager, and Inventory Control Manager in accomplishment of the Central Warehouse mission. Main responsibilities of the position include order pulling, receiving goods, and delivery as well as basic computer operations to include data entry, processing, and email communications.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma and valid SC driver’s license required. Basic knowledge of receipt control, storeroom, warehousing, and delivery related areas preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with material handling equipment, including a forklift and other standard equipment preferred but not required (current staff will train as needed). Must be able to communicate effectively. Basic knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and inventory procedures preferred. Must have legible handwriting, and the ability to accurately record and file information. Must have basic data entry skills and experience in the use of standard PC software.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, operate material handling equipment. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies. Warehouse environment tends to be hot and dusty. Must be capable of lifting 75+ lbs. assisted and 50lbs unassisted. Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory background report. May be required to travel for training opportunities.
