SAFE Alliance seeks a Bridge to Safety Crisis Advocate for the Community Services Program in the SAFEline department. The Bridge To Safety (BTS) Crisis Advocate seeks to improve outcomes for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, child abuse and human trafficking and exploitation through quickly addressing immediate safety concerns by providing one-time, limited, immediate assistance and support to increase safety and prevent further victimization. Position Details:
We are looking for one person to work on a part-time, non-exempt basis for an hourly salary of $21.00 dependent upon experience and an additional hourly language differential of $1.73 for those who are English/Spanish bilingual. The work location will be based at our Grove Blvd. Campus in the East Austin area. This position will include some travel in community or between campuses with no ability for remote/hybrid work.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field, or sufficient, equivalent, relevant work, life, or volunteer experience in lieu of degree.
Knowledge or background in the topics of sexual assault, domestic violence, poverty, disability, stalking, human trafficking, and child abuse preferred.
One to two years crisis intervention experience strongly preferred with the ability to respond to clients in a constructive, supportive, and non-judgmental manner.
Has sufficient personal maturity and stability to handle traumatic information inherent in this work, ability to recognize and seek out support for secondary trauma when needed and to rebound from setbacks and adversity when facing difficult situations.
Those fully bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately to convey information using both languages, both verbally and in writing are preferred.
Ability to complete thorough, accurate and professional documentation of appointments with clients, balancing the needs of program documentation with client ability and willingness to complete such documentation.
Be capable of sitting for extended periods of time and occasional exposure to adverse working conditions, including the performance of work in noisy, stressful or chaotic environment.
The advocate will not transport clients but must have the ability to make as needed trips to local vendors to purchase needed items for clients (i.e. cellphones, gas cards, etc.).
Have a valid, State of Texas Driver's License (If in possession of an out-of-state license, obtain a State of Texas Driver's License within 90 days of beginning employment.) AND at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age AND an acceptable driving record that covers at least the last three years of driver history.
This position requires completion of the 40-Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program within six (6) months of starting employment, along with participating in annual continuing education throughout your employment.
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable), as well as a pre-employment drug screen and TB test, if applicable.

Work Environment: FNUSA has become a fully remote organization. Employees can choose to work from home or to have FNUSA provide a co-working office space near them.

Compensation: The salary range is $55,000 - $60,000 depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement. The final salary offer will be contingent upon an organizational compensation analysis and equity review. Assist client with navigating the criminal justice system as it relates to their victimization by providing outreach, information, advocacy, accompaniment, court preparation, and education.
Provide intake, assessment, crisis intervention and safety planning.
Provide case management services to include making referrals to community resources, accessing victim's compensation, and assist with address confidentiality.
Ensure coordinated client care with key community partners.
Provide telephone and hotline crisis intervention as needed.

WSCADV’s team approach facilitates the sharing of power and responsibility across positions.
This position is responsible for:
Coordinating the Crossing Borders Project on immigrant and farmworker survivor advocacy and community engagement;
Promoting Latinx-centered, survivor-driven mobile advocacy, as well as peer leadership and learning;
Training and technical assistance on survivor advocacy topics, engaging families and communities, and/or domestic violence prevention.
Building on two decades of WSCADV’s Crossing Borders project growth and success, the coordinator will work with a new network of promotoras to build knowledge, skills and leadership; advance community work with our membership; and administer project funding and contracts. This position is an integral part a 2-person Crossing Borders project team, in a staff of about 20 people. WSCADV has a friendly, flexible work environment where we value each person.
Periodic overnight travel will be required, for project partner visits, gatherings, trainings, and WSCADV events and meetings (these are currently on hold due to COVID). Valid driver’s license and/or ability to travel is also required. Proof of COVID vaccination is required.
Primary responsibilities:
Lead the Crossing Borders program. Work effectively with a wide range of project partners and federal grant sub-grantees, including Latinx, grassroots, mainstream, health care, sexual assault, and domestic violence organizations, as well as the statewide sexual assault coalition, to build grassroots leadership of Latinx farmworker women in their communities.
Support a peer learning community of promotoras , bilingual/bicultural Latinx advocates, both mainstream and culturally-specific direct service programs, and allies. Grow their leadership skills, knowledge, and peer relationships. Support them to build power and overcome the issues that most affect them, such as on-the-job sexual violence, anti-immigrant laws and policies, immigration, discrimination, and basic needs.
Train, mentor, and provide technical assistance especially with promotoras , new advocates, bilingual/bicultural advocates, and direct service programs.
Examples of topics: mobile advocacy in the fields and warehouses; promotora -style advocacy; safety planning; confidentiality; trauma and burn-out; domestic and sexual violence; sexual harassment in the agricultural industry; engaging families and communities; prevention; “how-to” strategies for organizations.
Plan, deliver, and coordinate with others to provide training, peer learning opportunities, online content, and partner visits;
Work with project partners and WSCADV membership at large to increase their ability to offer culturally meaningful services.
Administer federal project grant. Collect and ensure accuracy of subcontractors’ invoices and reports, in English or Spanish as needed. Prepare and submit financial, data, and narrative reports to funders. Administer subcontracts and budgets. Stay updated with grant requirements and compliance. Ensure timely completion of grant activities.
Teamwork
Work closely and effectively with the accounting team, including an Accounting & Administrative Specialist assigned to this project, and with coworkers, partner organizations, and WSCADV membership.
Collaborate to break down silos and lift up Latinx survivors in WSCADV’s work in home visiting/reproductive justice, public policy/legislation, economic justice, etc.
Perform other general WSCADV staff duties related to annual conference , Refuse To Abuse® 5K , and other duties as assigned.

Coordinating the Crossing Borders Project on immigrant and farmworker survivor advocacy and community engagement;

Building on two decades of WSCADV’s Crossing Borders project growth and success, the coordinator will work with a new network of promotoras to build knowledge, skills and leadership; advance community work with our membership; and administer project funding and contracts. This position is an integral part a 2-person Crossing Borders project team, in a staff of about 20 people. WSCADV has a friendly, flexible work environment where we value each person.
Periodic overnight travel will be required, for project partner visits, gatherings, trainings, and WSCADV events and meetings (these are currently on hold due to COVID). Valid driver’s license and/or ability to travel is also required. Proof of COVID vaccination is required.
Primary responsibilities:
Lead the Crossing Borders program. Work effectively with a wide range of project partners and federal grant sub-grantees, including Latinx, grassroots, mainstream, health care, sexual assault, and domestic violence organizations, as well as the statewide sexual assault coalition, to build grassroots leadership of Latinx farmworker women in their communities.
Support a peer learning community of promotoras , bilingual/bicultural Latinx advocates, both mainstream and culturally-specific direct service programs, and allies. Grow their leadership skills, knowledge, and peer relationships. Support them to build power and overcome the issues that most affect them, such as on-the-job sexual violence, anti-immigrant laws and policies, immigration, discrimination, and basic needs.
Train, mentor, and provide technical assistance especially with promotoras , new advocates, bilingual/bicultural advocates, and direct service programs.
Examples of topics: mobile advocacy in the fields and warehouses; promotora -style advocacy; safety planning; confidentiality; trauma and burn-out; domestic and sexual violence; sexual harassment in the agricultural industry; engaging families and communities; prevention; “how-to” strategies for organizations.
Plan, deliver, and coordinate with others to provide training, peer learning opportunities, online content, and partner visits;
Work with project partners and WSCADV membership at large to increase their ability to offer culturally meaningful services.
Administer federal project grant. Collect and ensure accuracy of subcontractors’ invoices and reports, in English or Spanish as needed. Prepare and submit financial, data, and narrative reports to funders. Administer subcontracts and budgets. Stay updated with grant requirements and compliance. Ensure timely completion of grant activities.
Teamwork
Work closely and effectively with the accounting team, including an Accounting & Administrative Specialist assigned to this project, and with coworkers, partner organizations, and WSCADV membership.

Job Summary: Broadview is a Domestic Violence program which includes a 24 hour facility providing emergency shelter (10 units), transitional housing (21 units), Rapid Rehousing program and support services to women, children and youth whose lives have been disrupted by family violence. These families also frequently struggle with substance abuse, inadequate medical and mental health care, long periods of family separation, child abuse and neglect and poverty. Support services include on site crisis intervention, case management and advocacy-based counseling, legal advocacy, information and referral, and long-term stabilization services.
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing operations of all services, including supervision of the 24 - hour staff team and development and oversight of the program budget. The Program Director is also part of the on-call team evenings and weekends two weeks per month and provides back up support to supervisory on-call staff as needed. On-call coverage includes determining program staffing levels, providing staff supervision, and responding to emergency personnel including law enforcement, emergency medical providers and the fire department during client and building emergencies.
Essential Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks:
25% Provide leadership, oversight and support to facilitate day-to-day operations, strategic planning and delivery of services within Broadview – including the emergency shelter, transitional housing, domestic violence rapid rehousing and children and youth programs. Oversee all administrative and other functions related to running and maintaining the facility. Develop and monitor program policies to ensure 24-hour staffing and service provision and compliance with all contracts. Develop contracts or MOU with on-site service providers;
20% Ensure program quality and sustainability by developing annual goals and outcome-based performance measures in response to community and program needs. Work closely with Program, supervisory and Management staff to ensure implementation. Develop and implement evaluation methods utilizing resident and staff input. Identify needs and work with Chief Program Officer to enhance program operations as needed;
10% Develop collaborative relationships with other organizations to maintain and increase support of Broadview programs and residents. Represent Broadview in relevant community forums, coalitions and planning processes. Make presentations to local audiences around program accomplishments and issues.
10% Hire, train, supervise and evaluate Broadview manager, administrative supervisor, children’s advocates and case managers. Determine work assignments and work schedules to most effectively meet the needs of the 24-hour facility. Provide necessary staff support through regular meetings, and identify trainings and workshops to enhance staff skills. Mediate concerns that arise between programs.
10% Participate in Solid Ground management team to develop agency wide goals and systems. Participate in program meetings and relevant trainings as required;

Job Summary: Broadview is a Domestic Violence program which includes a 24 hour facility providing emergency shelter (10 units), transitional housing (21 units), Rapid Rehousing program and support services to women, children and youth whose lives have been disrupted by family violence. These families also frequently struggle with substance abuse, inadequate medical and mental health care, long periods of family separation, child abuse and neglect and poverty. Support services include on site crisis intervention, case management and advocacy-based counseling, legal advocacy, information and referral, and long-term stabilization services.
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing operations of all services, including supervision of the 24 - hour staff team and development and oversight of the program budget. The Program Director is also part of the on-call team evenings and weekends two weeks per month and provides back up support to supervisory on-call staff as needed. On-call coverage includes determining program staffing levels, providing staff supervision, and responding to emergency personnel including law enforcement, emergency medical providers and the fire department during client and building emergencies.
Essential Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks:
25% Provide leadership, oversight and support to facilitate day-to-day operations, strategic planning and delivery of services within Broadview – including the emergency shelter, transitional housing, domestic violence rapid rehousing and children and youth programs. Oversee all administrative and other functions related to running and maintaining the facility. Develop and monitor program policies to ensure 24-hour staffing and service provision and compliance with all contracts. Develop contracts or MOU with on-site service providers;
20% Ensure program quality and sustainability by developing annual goals and outcome-based performance measures in response to community and program needs. Work closely with Program, supervisory and Management staff to ensure implementation. Develop and implement evaluation methods utilizing resident and staff input. Identify needs and work with Chief Program Officer to enhance program operations as needed;
10% Develop collaborative relationships with other organizations to maintain and increase support of Broadview programs and residents. Represent Broadview in relevant community forums, coalitions and planning processes. Make presentations to local audiences around program accomplishments and issues.
10% Hire, train, supervise and evaluate Broadview manager, administrative supervisor, children’s advocates and case managers. Determine work assignments and work schedules to most effectively meet the needs of the 24-hour facility.
