Job Summary
The Office Assistant III works with the Division Manager to administer the Parks program and supports the Division’s staff on business practices and activities. This position provides a wide range of business activities for the Division. The primary responsibility is to provide customer service to internal and external customers by performing moderately difficult to complex administrative support activities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following strengths:
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills;
Excellent customer service skills
Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams), and database experience
Highly organized and self-directed
Experience in managing shared files system
Ability to work well with a diverse population
Education and Experience: Three to five years of responsible and advanced administrative support experience including the full range of office and support functions; telephone and reception, word processing, spreadsheet and other personal computer applications, filing systems, mail, supplies, budgeting, accounting and others. In those positions requiring typing, the incumbents must, upon entry into the position, be able to type at a rate of no less than 55 words per minute. May be required to possess or obtain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
Combinations of education or experience, which would demonstrate the ability to perform the work, will be considered.
Knowledge of:
General office procedures and practices
A variety of software and hardware systems
Basic bookkeeping and/or receipting practices
Standard office machines and PC computer applications
Ability to: Establish and maintain effective working relationships; apply sound judgment in making decisions; follow oral and written instructions; effectively guide and assist other employees; communicate effectively both orally and in written form; ability to track multiple projects, processes and actionable items for Division.
