Deschutes County is accepting applications for an Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Specialist I, previous experience as a services coordinator or personal agent in the Oregon service delivery system is strongly preferred. This position is responsible for providing service coordination/case management for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who live in a variety of residential settings. Duties include but are not limited to, assessment of individual support needs and development and implementation of individual service plans to meet support needs; identifying strategies to avert or resolve a client crisis; maintaining client records in accordance with rules and regulations; identifying resources available through individuals and or agencies to address client support needs and life goals; monitoring of services to assure compliance with Medicaid requirements; and facilitating productive team processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field, and two years of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. May alternatively possess an Associate's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or related field, and four years of experience in the delivery of services to individuals with developmental disabilities, or have an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.
