Position Summary:

The Senior Relationship Manager – Corporate Development reports directly to the Director of Corporate Relations. The Senior Corporate Development Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and helping to grow HRC’s National Corporate Partnership program, as well as driving corporate fundraising efforts for the HRC National Dinner and supporting local corporate fundraising efforts for key cities.

This position is externally facing and will interact directly with representatives from some of the largest companies in the world as well as maintaining strong internal alignment and engagement from the corporate development and broader HRC teams.  Their job will be to enhance our relationship with them and secure funding needed to support HRC’s mission. 

This self-motivated, results-oriented individual will serve as an integral member of a staff team; ensuring the interests and needs of both HRC and our corporate partners are met. It will require outstanding customer service skills and the need to be nimble and responsive to National Partner requests. To be successful within the organization, it will require working collaboratively with colleagues, a strong commitment to teamwork, the ability to multi-task and navigate competing priorities.   A strong interest in the intersection between the private sector and LGBTQ inclusion is essential.  It will be the role of this position to strike a balance between understanding the needs of our corporate partners and balancing them with the direction, goals, and objectives of HRC.

 

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Taking the lead on multiple National Corporate partner relationships
  • Working with the Director of Corporate Development on sponsor prospecting and developing relationships with new sponsors.
  • Communicating directly with key corporate contacts to optimize and enhance existing partnerships.
  • Helping evolve and grow the HRC sponsorship program through innovative ideas and input
  • Developing and executing partner and sponsor appreciation and stewardship events/activities
  • Coordinating and communicating with key internal stakeholders
  • In collaboration with Director and other team members, drive sponsorship efforts for the HRC National Dinner
  • Working with volunteer committees at local dinners throughout the country as needed to help them reach their corporate fundraising goals.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records including invoicing, acknowledgement letters, internal tracking tools, etc.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required; experience in a corporate setting, is a plus
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising, client service, and/or sales positions.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments and be able to handle tasks in a positive manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with multiple departments within an organization is required, and familiarity dealing with external corporate constituents, such as clients or sponsors, highly desired.
  • Must be able to demonstrate exceptional writing skills, computer proficiency and strong verbal communications abilities, with particular emphasis on customer service.
  • Must be equally comfortable in both non-profit and Fortune 500 environments and be able to deliver engaging, compelling presentations, and public speeches to HRC constituencies.
  • Flexibility with work schedule; Must be willing to travel approximately 40% of work time, sometimes in evenings and often on weekends.
  • Personal interest in and commitment to LGBTQ equality.
