These three positions are part-time, temporary, management service positions and are not represented by a union.

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Center for Public Health Practice (CPHP), COVID-19 Incident Response Section in Portland, OR is recruiting for three (3) temporary COVID-19 Senior Health Advisors to provide medical expertise and epidemiologic support with the public health planning and response efforts in support of the COVID-19 Incident Response.

What will you do?

As a COVID-19 Senior Health Advisor, you will provide information and support education regarding COVID-19 and its prevention, and public health preparedness to health professionals, partners, and the public.  You will serve as part of a team of Senior Health Advisors to develop public health guidelines and communications in coordination with all Public Health Division offices and incident command sections and branches. You will collaborate with academic institutions, and public and community healthcare organizations to develop and improve understanding of COVID-19 epidemiology and preparedness, develop guidance documents in support of the response, provide guidance to healthcare professionals, and respond to questions from the public, stakeholders, and Oregon leadership which includes legislators, Governor Brown’s office, and congressional delegates.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum requirements: Must meet or be eligible to meet the State of Oregon licensing requirements for a medical doctor at the time of hire and obtain State of Oregon licensure within six-months of hire AND must have advance training in epidemiology.
  • Rigorous adherence to the highest standards of confidentiality regarding patient information.
  • High degree of professional, diplomatic interpersonal communication skills to perform significant liaison work.
  • Experience promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
