Position Description
America Votes is currently seeking a Development & Grants Assistant to join our diverse and high performing Development & Grants team. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development & Grants Assistant serves as the backbone of department operations by ensuring all administrative processes are in place to execute the department's work. This includes, working closely with other departments to ensure compliance needs are met, assisting with contribution tracking and acknowledgement, supporting donor communication needs, and other related projects as assigned. This is a temporary position, ending on March 31, 2025.

Responsibilities
Support Grants Manager in working with finance and legal teams to ensure grantees have submitted necessary documentation for tracking.
Provide additional support on tracking and summarizing grantee reporting for internal and external communications.
Coordinate with the political department and state staff to gather information for regular funder updates on overall program execution.
Support the productions of various donor communications including research, content collection, copy-editing, etc.
Support the executing of in-person and virtual donor briefings (including slide administration and management).
Provide dedicated administrative support for fundraising principals, to include assistance with scheduling, meeting prep, and other logistical needs.
Manage the EveryAction platform, covering all data entry and system maintenance.
Maintain all contribution related information including invoices and contribution instructions.
Manage a weekly "state highlights" report summarizing key developments from target states.
Support the logistics of State Summit sponsorships deliverable collection and provide additional assistance as needed.
Attend fundraising events, meetings, and gatherings as needed.
Provide additional support as needed for dedicated organizational projects that impact department work.
Qualifications
Has experience in a finance or data role in a fast-paced environment
Excellent organization and time-management skills
Extremely detail- and deadline-oriented
Familiarity with databases and fundraising management tools (EveryAction experience preferred)
Solid problem-solving and communication skills - both verbal and written.
Experience managing sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.

Compensation
The salary for this position will be between $53,000 and $58,000 and depend upon the applicant's experience. Position Summary:
The enrollment specialist (ES) is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment, and ensuring children and families integrate into the Hope House Colorado Early Learning Center (ELC). The ES is responsible for the tracking of the on-site Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP). Maintains records, files, maintenance agreements, contracts, and warranty information for equipment and mechanical systems.
Serves as liaison with architects, engineers, and contractors regarding new construction, major renovations, and remodeling.
Facilitates projects to ensure they are completed within time, design, and budget specifications.
Develops and implements short and long-range maintenance plans to ensure resources are effectively utilized.
Participates in College safety planning to ensure staff are educated on the regulations of state and local codes.
Oversees recycling and garbage disposal for entire campus as well as driving new green initiatives.
Evaluates and implements energy conservation methods.
Participates in reviews for ADA, EPA, DNR, OSHA requirements related to the college's campus and buildings.
Participates in campus committees as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or Technology Management.
Three (3) years of experience in the operations, the maintenance, and the support of commercial buildings.
Must possess a current driver’s license valid in the State of Iowa and a driving record insurable by the College’s insurer. Must be able to obtain additional endorsements as needed.
Ability to obtain an OSHA 30-hour card for General Industry within twelve (12) months of hire.
Experience with commercial building construction, building systems and the required maintenance procedures for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression systems, low voltage systems (security/camera).
Knowledge of financial rules, required compliance regulations, laws, and procedures.
Must possess supervisory skills.
Knowledge of budget management and fiscal monitoring.

Manages the College’s vehicle fleet, fuel system, and driving records of all employees that use fleet vehicles.
Partners with various College departments and divisions to prepare buildings and grounds for scheduled activities.
Receives, processes, and coordinates work requests for all facilities repair, maintenance, and custodial requests.
Monitors information sources regarding inclement weather and hazardous road conditions. Consults with the Vice President of Administration & Finance to make recommendations on College cancellations, late starts, and early dismissals.
Maintains records, files, maintenance agreements, contracts, and warranty information for equipment and mechanical systems.
Serves as liaison with architects, engineers, and contractors regarding new construction, major renovations, and remodeling.
Facilitates projects to ensure they are completed within time, design, and budget specifications.
Develops and implements short and long-range maintenance plans to ensure resources are effectively utilized.
Participates in College safety planning to ensure staff are educated on the regulations of state and local codes.
Oversees recycling and garbage disposal for entire campus as well as driving new green initiatives.
Evaluates and implements energy conservation methods.
Participates in reviews for ADA, EPA, DNR, OSHA requirements related to the college's campus and buildings.
Participates in campus committees as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or Technology Management.
Three (3) years of experience in the operations, the maintenance, and the support of commercial buildings.
Must possess a current driver’s license valid in the State of Iowa and a driving record insurable by the College’s insurer. Must be able to obtain additional endorsements as needed.
Ability to obtain an OSHA 30-hour card for General Industry within twelve (12) months of hire.
Experience with commercial building construction, building systems and the required maintenance procedures for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression systems, low voltage systems (security/camera).
Knowledge of financial rules, required compliance regulations, laws, and procedures.

YOU HAVE

FCC General Class License, SBE Certifications, Computer Networking certifications (Comp TIA+ or CCNA), and VMWare certification desired.
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting high power TV transmitters and antenna systems along with in-depth knowledge of ATSC encoding, modulation, and signal analysis methodologies.

Strategy
Oversee and expand upon Civic Nation’s fundraising and corporate partnerships strategies focused on individual, corporate, and institutional major donors that fosters long-term sustainability and takes advantage of current trends and opportunities to enhance organizational impact.
Create new strategies to expand and diversify the organization’s revenue generating partnerships, leveraging key leaders on our Board and executive and senior leadership.
Oversee the implementation of regular donor communications and engagement activities, including donor events and briefings.
Management & Operations
Manage, supervise, and support the Development & Corporate Partnerships staff in close collaboration with the Development Director and Director of Corporate Partnerships.
Partner with the CEO on all aspects of fundraising activities and responsibilities, and work closely with Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Finance Officer, and other members of the executive and senior leadership to ensure alignment between organization-wide goals and the team’s priorities.
Ensure strong cultivation and stewardship of current and prospective major individual and institutional donors across the organization, and grow, maintain and manage a personal portfolio of relationships with major donors and corporate partners.
Review and improve fundraising messaging and materials.
Liaise with key staff to ensure grant compliance.

YOUR EXPERIENCE
12+ years’ experience in fundraising and partnerships.
7+ years of supervisory and/or senior management experience
Demonstrated success in leading fundraising strategy and managing a high performing fundraising team.
Proven experience managing executive or other high level relationships with major donors, companies, and foundations and personally cultivating, soliciting, and closing major gifts and grants.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The Washington, DC-based salary range for this position is $155,000 - $200,000 (will be adjusted for cost of labor for the incumbent's work location) annually, commensurate with experience. Work closely with the Director of Accounting and Administration on the annual budgeting process, including the planning and usage of documents and data, entering and maintaining the annual budget in QuickBooks Online and providing quarterly and monthly budgeting reports.
Grants Financial Management
Support the preparation of grant budget reports and grant financial tracking to ensure restricted grants are tracked in Quickbooks Online and reported in compliance with donor restrictions and GAAP.
Compliance and Administration
Manage vendor compliance including collecting W-9s and proper vendor setup in Bill.com and Quickbooks Online.
Document and support continual improvements of administrative procedures and policies.
Work with the Director of Accounting and Administration to review financial and compliance aspects of grant restrictions and vendor contracts.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance-related field or equivalent business experience.
In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Experience: 1-3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably with non-profit accounting.

The CGO will be responsible for implementing and adapting Water For People’s global growth strategy.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
Form strong partnerships with Co-CEOs, Chief Finance and Administration Officer (CFAO), Chief Impact Officer (CIO), Senior Director of Finance (SDF), and Regional Directors to develop multi-year organizational fundraising priorities, revenue targets and projections, effective engagement plans for high-level current and potential supporters and the media, and accurate and timely updates to the Board.
Work with the Donor Impact team and the Global Leadership Team (GLT) to execute the current growth plan aligned with the strategic plan tied with Destination 2030 and with the One For All Alliance; key emphasis will be on growing the number of new prospects/donors and strengthening the portfolio in the long-term into a greater number of key donors/funders.
Ensure performance, strategy, and alignment of the organization's revenue-generating activities and external relations including brand and communications.
Lead analysis of fundraising strategies and approaches to align with current market trends while staying flexible and innovative.

To qualify for this position, you should have:

Healthy Schools Campaign (HSC), a national nonprofit organization based in Chicago, is seeking a Staff Accountant to help further its mission of making schools healthier places for all children. HSC focuses on issues affecting students of color and those from under-invested communities, and strives to make equity part of the public dialogue about education and health. HSC advocates for policies and practices that support health and learning, including comprehensive health services, nutritious school food, physical activity, green schoolyards and clean air at school. Position Description
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Accounting and Administration team to continuously develop and refine HSC’s financial operations, while supporting a positive culture, dynamic team and strategic use of resources to enable our mission. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative functions including, but not limited to, the month end close, bi-weekly payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and receipts, financial management and reporting, including grants management. This is a full-time permanent position with the option to work remotely, although a strong preference will be given to candidates in the Chicago area. The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and Administration.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounting
Perform all bookkeeping and accounting functions in accordance with GAAP including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable and receipts, including invoicing, credit card donation receipts journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Process bi-weekly payroll through a third-party online platform, prepare journal entries and related activities including, but not limited to, tracking and reconciling vacation and sick leave for employees.
Manage the annual 1099 reporting process for vendors.
Working closely with the Director of Accounting and Administration on the yearly accounting activities such as the annual audit process (with external auditors), the organization’s federal (Form 990 and schedules) and state tax returns and the annual budgeting process.

Position Description
The Staff Accountant is a key member of the Accounting and Administration team to continuously develop and refine HSC’s financial operations, while supporting a positive culture, dynamic team and strategic use of resources to enable our mission. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative functions including, but not limited to, the month end close, bi-weekly payroll, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and receipts, financial management and reporting, including grants management. This is a full-time permanent position with the option to work remotely, although a strong preference will be given to candidates in the Chicago area. The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and Administration.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accounting
Perform all bookkeeping and accounting functions in accordance with GAAP including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable and receipts, including invoicing, credit card donation receipts journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Process bi-weekly payroll through a third-party online platform, prepare journal entries and related activities including, but not limited to, tracking and reconciling vacation and sick leave for employees.
Manage the annual 1099 reporting process for vendors.
Working closely with the Director of Accounting and Administration on the yearly accounting activities such as the annual audit process (with external auditors), the organization’s federal (Form 990 and schedules) and state tax returns and the annual budgeting process.
Maintaining accounting procedures and policies and systems of internal controls to ensure the integrity of all financial systems.
Budgeting, Financial Management and Reporting
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports such as monthly financial statements, budget variance reports, and other ad-hoc financial reports, while providing critical thinking and analysis as to the accuracy of reports and variances.
Working closely with the Director of Accounting and Administration on the annual budgeting process, including supporting the planning and usage of documents and data, entering and maintaining annual budget in QuickBooks Online and providing quarterly and monthly budgeting reports.
Grants Financial Management
Support the preparation of grant budget reports and grant financial tracking to ensure restricted grants are tracked in Quickbooks Online and reported in compliance with donor restrictions and GAAP.
Compliance
Manage vendor compliance from collecting W-9s and proper vendor setup in Bill.com and Quickbooks Online.
Work with the Director of Accounting and Administration to review financial and compliance aspects of grant restrictions and vendor contracts.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance-related field) or equivalent business experience, as well as knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
At least 3 years of professional accounting experience or equivalent, preferably with significant experience in non-profit accounting.
Strong technology skills and experience using Google products and Quickbooks Online.
Experience using Bill.com, Salesforce and Trello is preferred.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

What makes this role challenging: This position works independently, under administrative direction of the OCR Financial and Project Section Manager. As the agency expert, you will serve as the liaison between the Reclamation and Washington State Department of Ecology on issues relating to the Yakima Basin. Provide water rights research, assessment information, water law advice and interpretation of Washington water code. Analyzes and creates trust water rights, writes reviews, and edits contracts for water leases and purchases. Meets and negotiates with the public and with staff from various agencies to find and acquire water rights, and drafts and files appropriate petitions and proposed orders with the Yakima Adjudication Court and/or water right change applications to Ecology to transfer water rights from out-of-stream to instream uses.
Act as liaison and resource between the Reclamation and OCR and the Water Resources Program on matters related to YRBWEP. Manages flow tracking at the Parker and Prosser gages, as well as interaction with committee and workgroups related to YRBWEP and the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan (YBIP). Assists in the development of policy and guidance relative to the YRBWEP goals. Communicates with Ecology experts, including Water Resources Section Manager, OCR Program Director, OCR Operations Manager, irrigation district personnel and various engineers and hydrogeologists as needed to meet project commitments.
Review and solicits input on issues such as fish passage, water conservation, fish habitat development, structural/operational changes, surface water storage, groundwater storage and water banks/markets. Provides progress reports to Ecology management on YRBWEP progress and implementation.
Provide staff support to the YRBWEP workgroup, including representing the state's interest and providing advice and guidance. Is responsible for drafting, editing, and providing comments and recommendations to the YRBWEP team for development of the Basin Conservation Plan and implementation of the Basin Conservation Program (Water Conservation Grant Program). Assists Ecology and Reclamation to track conservation quantities for all YRBWEP water supplies.
Serve as Ecology's senior staff representative on state environmental policy and water law including the State Trust Water Right Program for the Yakima Basin, water right transfers, and water rights adjudication.
Provide interpretation of state laws and programs relevant to the implementation of the YRBWEP. Responsible for evaluating, commenting and providing recommendations on papers and reports prepared by Reclamation and others related to the YRBWEP. Qualifications
Years of required experience indicated below are full-time equivalent years. We would calculate this by looking at the total hours worked per week, divide this by 40, and then multiply by the total number of months worked. Examples of the proration calculations are:
30 hours worked per week for 20 months: (30/40) x 20 months = 15 months full-time equivalent
20 hours worked per week for 12 months: (20/40) x 12 months = 6 months full-time equivalent
Required Qualifications: A total of Ten (10) years of experience and/or education as described below: Professional level Experience in : Environmental analysis or control or environmental planning. Education: Involving a major study in environmental, physical, or one of the natural sciences, environmental planning or other allied field. Years of professional level experience - as described above.

Combination 5 A Bachelor's Degree.6 years of experience.
Combination 6 A Master's Degree.4 years of experience.
Combination 7 A Ph.D. 3 years of experience. OR One year of experience as an Environmental Specialist 4, at the Department of Ecology. Additional Requirements : Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License. Knowledge of applicable state, federal and local environmental regulations and policies; methods for the development of an environmental program or complex study; multimedia environmental principles and practices.
Ability to work independently on large projects and stay focused for long periods of time.
Have field experience and be able to participate in field work, especially related to stream gage monitoring.
Effectively communicate technical information clearly, both orally and in writing.
Experience with Microsoft applications ACCESS, EXCEL, WORD, OUTLOOK, and POWERPOINT.
