As the food industry association, FMI works to support the food industry by advocating for a safer, healthier, and more efficient consumer food supply. We are looking for an Assistant, Marketing to join the Communications team to help us accomplish the strategic initiatives established for this group.

The Assistant, Marketing will:

  • Assist with creating and executing short- and long-term organizational, research and event-related marketing plans and budgets.
  • Create and implement marketing automation campaigns to include email creation, measuring email campaign results, digital engagements and responses.
  • Develop and coordinate effective promotional/marketing materials and campaigns to include project coordination, target list development, webpage content development, digital assets, writing, editing, and proofing marketing collateral, website and social media postings.
  • Support promotional opportunities and brand management of materials such as PowerPoint presentations, flyers, and other marketing activities.
  • Assist with market and member data analysis to support marketing outreach efforts. 

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • College degree (preferably in marketing)
  • Minimum of two years of prior professional work experience, including at least one year directly and specifically related to the position (required)
  • Computer and internet expertise with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of marketing automation, social media platforms
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of html and web development preferred
  • Self-directed with excellent time and project management skills with an ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail and with minimal supervision.
