Residence Life – Community Director for Residence Life (full time, exempt, live-in)

This position requires energetic, highly motivated, thoughtful, and adaptive team players with strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a student-centered approach to their work. Since this position is a key leadership role for supporting the university goals for integrating the academic, residential, and social experience of students, priority will be given to candidates with previous experience working within liberal arts, residential college setting and/or previous experience with engaging in partnerships between student affairs and academic affairs. A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential, as this position leads the development of an inclusive, intellectual, residential community.
Responsibilities include overseeing the management a residential neighborhoods that houses 400-800 students: working closely with a live-in Faculty Director to develop the intellectual and social climate for the neighborhood; supervising an administrative assistant and undergraduate student staff; maintaining daily student contact through shared meals, mentoring, facilitating and participating in programs and initiatives, and developing student leadership opportunities; co-chairing the neighborhood association with a live-in faculty member; collaborating with staff and faculty members in Living Learning Communities; serving as a student conduct hearing officer; and serving in leadership capacities for departmental efforts.
Master’s degree and residence life experience post undergraduate degree required.
Experience with recognizing customer service concepts as they relate to working with primarily student and parent clients in a college setting preferred.
