PeopleTec is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Data Scientist Lead to support our Huntsville, AL location. This role requires you to strategize and drive the execution of the core initiatives of the Machine Learning (ML) team.

Duties Include:

As a Principal level individual contributor, you will bring a track record of successfully delivering machine learning models and systems end to end. You will lead, mentor, and grow ML scientists /Natural Language Processing (NLP) engineers. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to design a high-value roadmap that scales the impact of ML for customers and make prioritization and architecture decisions to drive the execution of this roadmap. Your ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain a forward-thinking outlook and scrappiness for the present will lead you to success. Leading by example will create a cohesive team culture of ownership, growth, transparency, and customer focus as you attract and close top talent for your team.

Success in this position lies not only in state-of-the-art design, development, documentation, tests while debugging software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to critical mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions utilizing data processing equipment and continuously learning new techniques and technology. Must be experienced in leading teams and perform as a subject matter expert to support business development strategy.

Required Skills/Experience:

Knowledge of the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle

Knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software

Correcting program errors prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls

Experience ensuring software standards are met

Experience with Agile development environment and supporting design/sustainment/development efforts

3 years of experience using Python and Java languages

Familiarity with Eclipse or other IDEs (IntelliJ, NetBeans, Visual Studio)

Knowledge of Object Oriented (OO) Design   Development

Working knowledge with Linux/Unix commands and environment

Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Travel:up to 10 % during safe travel conditions

Must be a U.S. Citizen

An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire and maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related discipline (engineering, physics, computer science) and 8 years or more of professional experience. A Master's Degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Desired Skills:

Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field with 10 years of experience.

Experience presenting solutions to customers verbally or communicating solutions effectively to high-level audiences.
