What you will do:

As an Administrative Support Specialist, you will be part of an Agency Support Team. You will support staff, projects, programs, and demonstrate a diverse knowledge base of administrative duties. You will also assist in meeting the overall operational needs of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

(a) Two (2) years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations.

OR

(b) One (1) year of post-secondary education; AND One (1) year of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations.

OR
(c) An equivalent combination of training and experience.

What we are looking for (Desired Attributes):

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with proper grammar and punctuation.
  • Experience prioritizing and adjusting tasks to meet changing requirements and workload demands.
  • Experience applying and interpreting laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience using office equipment such as calculators, photocopiers, scanners and/or fax machines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of agency records.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience entering data and maintaining databases.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis.
  • Experience in promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
