Duties
What makes this role unique? As the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Specialist, you will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing team helping to chart the path for how Ecology will reduce emissions of potent greenhouse gases affecting climate change. What you will do:
Act as an agency hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) specialist working to reduce statewide HFC emissions in both commercial and residential products.
Provide technical assistance to the regulated community to identify climate-friendly products.
Support the rule-writing team as we complete the development of compliance protocols.
Take a leading hand in developing standardized procedures and protocols for compliance and enforcement for small commercial and residential products. Support the development of guidance documents, fact sheets, and product purchasing recommendations.
Help outreach staff to develop educational materials, share information, and provide training to the community; this includes both formal training, such as workshops, and detailed one-on-one work sessions during compliance visits.
Qualifications
The goal class for this position is Environmental Specialist 3 (ES3) . We will also consider applicants who meet the requirements for the ES1 and ES2 levels. Duties
What makes this role unique? As the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Specialist, you will have the opportunity to join a rapidly growing team helping to chart the path for how Ecology will reduce emissions of potent greenhouse gases affecting climate change. You’ll grow and learn valuable new skills while working with a wide range of individuals with diverse backgrounds, both inside Ecology and externally with businesses to stay compliant with Washington’s regulations. What you will do:
Act as an agency hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) specialist working to reduce statewide HFC emissions in both commercial and residential products.
Provide technical assistance to the regulated community to identify climate-friendly products.
Support the rule-writing team as we complete the development of compliance protocols.
Take a leading hand in developing standardized procedures and protocols for compliance and enforcement for small commercial and residential products. Support the development of guidance documents, fact sheets, and product purchasing recommendations.
Help outreach staff to develop educational materials, share information, and provide training to the community; this includes both formal training, such as workshops, and detailed one-on-one work sessions during compliance visits.
Qualifications
The goal class for this position is Environmental Specialist 3 (ES3) . We will also consider applicants who meet the requirements for the ES1 and ES2 levels. If the finalist meets the requirements for the ES1 or ES2 levels, they will be hired at that level and placed into a training program to become an ES3 within a specified period of time. Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an energetic and detail-oriented licensed Registered Nurse to review program needs, setting priorities and assigning nursing staff to ensure compliance with standards of care and practice, facility and department policies and compliance with applicable standards, including the American Coalition of Citizens with Disabilities (ACCD), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna. Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center offers a variety of treatment programs and services including but not limited to: Psychiatric/psychological, medical/physical, social, educational, vocational/rehabilitation, recreational, speech, language and hearing, pharmacy, dental and dietary services, and referrals and special consultations for individuals with developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities.
Job Responsibilities
Serves as Nursing Supervisor for the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center.
Serves as full line supervisor.
Reviews work needs, improvements and health/safety issues.
Documents individual’s work performance on 201R’s within scheduled time frames based on observation of nursing care practices and procedures.
Coordinates and is a nursing representative for committee/professional activities, task groups and other quality assurance related activities.
Schedules training and demonstrations in nursing care practices and techniques.
Works cooperatively with Habilitation Program Coordinators in ensuring quality care is provided.
Serves as an Administrator on Duty (AOD) on a rotating basis, exercising full authority after business hours, weekends and holidays.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.

Duties
What makes this role unique? As the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Specialist, you will have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing team helping to chart the path for how Ecology will reduce emissions of potent greenhouse gases affecting climate change. You’ll grow and learn valuable new skills while working with a wide range of individuals with diverse backgrounds – your Air Quality Program colleagues, as well as the businesses you’ll work with to become compliant with Washington’s regulations. What you will do:
Act as an agency technical compliance and enforcement specialist on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and refrigerant technologies, including completing site visits.
Provide technical assistance to the regulated community on HFC restrictions, allowable alternatives, and new environmentally friendly technologies.
Support the rule-writing team as we complete the development of compliance protocols.
Take a leading hand in developing help documents and standardized procedures for inspecting facilities.
Help outreach staff to educate the regulated community as restrictions become effective, how to minimize leaks that emit climate pollutants, and how to use Ecology’s HFC reporting software.
Qualifications
The goal class for this position is Environmental Specialist 3 (ES3) . We will also consider applicants who meet the requirements for the ES1 and ES2 levels. If the finalist meets the requirements for the ES1 or ES2 levels, they will be hired at that level and placed into a training program to become an ES3 within a specified period of time. As the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Specialist, you will have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing team helping to chart the path for how Ecology will reduce emissions of potent greenhouse gases affecting climate change. What you will do:
Act as an agency technical compliance and enforcement specialist on hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and refrigerant technologies, including completing site visits.
Provide technical assistance to the regulated community on HFC restrictions, allowable alternatives, and new environmentally friendly technologies.
Support the rule-writing team as we complete the development of compliance protocols.
Take a leading hand in developing help documents and standardized procedures for inspecting facilities.
Help outreach staff to educate the regulated community as restrictions become effective, how to minimize leaks that emit climate pollutants, and how to use Ecology’s HFC reporting software.
Qualifications
The goal class for this position is Environmental Specialist 3 (ES3) . We will also consider applicants who meet the requirements for the ES1 and ES2 levels. If the finalist meets the requirements for the ES1 or ES2 levels, they will be hired at that level and placed into a training program to become an ES3 within a specified period of time. Review building and land permits to ensure adequate fire department access and fire flow are provided.
Review fire system permits including fire sprinklers, alarms, monitoring systems, hydrants, and water supply systems.
Provide direct customer assistance for the public, design professionals, property owners regarding fire and building code questions, their application, and the permit process.
Offer alternatives and initiate problem-solving conferences with owners, contractors, and design professionals.
Occasionally perform scheduled, after-hours inspections, including weekends, to conduct inspections of events requiring special fire event permits.

Plans examination or inspection experience or education and experience in Fire Engineering and inspections or related field.
International Fire Code Certification
Demonstrated experience in the application and interpretation of national, state, and local building and fire codes and standards
Knowledge of the permitting process.
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the review of fire protection system.
Skill in reading, interpreting, and explaining construction documents, specifications, codes, ordinances, and policies.

What makes this role unique? As the Federal Facilities Underground Storage Tank (UST) Inspector and Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Site Manager, you will travel throughout the state to inspect and provide technical assistance at underground storage tanks located at a wide range of federal facilities, such as Department of Defense sites, national parks, and post offices. Issue the appropriate enforcement action(s) to Responsible Parties (RPs) when violations are observed and documented.
Resolve enforcement actions by following the procedures in the UST Inspector Enforcement Manual and by supplying RPs with guidance in order to correct violations.
Provide testimony for Pollution Control Hearing Board hearings, case reviews, and court cases involving UST regulations and inspections.
Direct and coordinate owners and operators, contractors, local government agencies, and others on complex UST projects.
Create new guidance documents and develop new tools to assist UST inspectors.
Provide technical assistance, guidance, and expertise at UST and LUST sites.
Independently review cleanup project reports to determine if cleanup actions meet the substantive requirements of Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA); draft opinion letters.

Knowledge of underground storage tank (UST) systems.
Compliance and enforcement experience.
Verification of completion of an Initial 40-hour hazardous materials training, or the ability to successfully complete the training within the first six months of employment, followed by successful completion of an annual 8-hour refresher.
