Position Title : Development Director

We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Development Director to implement our development plan. This is a key role in helping to grow the organization. The successful candidate will be analytical and creative, collaborate well with a passionate and fun staff, and coordinate and manage multiple projects. The Development Director will play a key role in the leadership of the organization as part of the organization’s Executive Team.

Essential Functions: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Development Director (DD) will provide strategic leadership for the planning, implementation, evaluation, integration, and administration development department. The DD will lead a team of development professionals in achieving the organization’s revenue goals, increasing income, and educating and engaging more individuals and institutions in the to advance the organization’s mission. The DD will be part of a skilled team of professionals working to raise at least $5 million annually. The DD manages a multi-faceted fundraising program; central to this role will be prioritizing personal solicitation of major donors, events, online and direct marketing, and foundation fundraising.
Duties:
Work closely with the Development Team to establish fundraising goals, set strategic priorities, advise on program development, and develop and meet annual budget
Manage and build a growing team of development professionals, provide on-going guidance, direction, and motivation, hire team members and provide oversight to consultants as needed, delegate appropriately and ensure strong internal communication and coordination, and evaluate performance and provide opportunities for personal and professional growth
Work closely with the Boards of Directors to engage them more deeply in the fundraising process and to help cultivate a strong relationship between board members and the organization
Help track cultivation and prospecting activity and ensure the execution of action items
Solicit contributions from major individual donors and steward long-term relationships with donors
Develop relationships with prospective individual and foundation donors to increase funding
Research prospective institutional and individual funders
Work with internal partners to draft and edit proposals and reports
Track proposal and reporting deadlines, ensure that all submitted materials are accurate and comply with any funder requirements
Manage all grant activity in a central database and deliver regular reports to the Executive Director
Serve as the point person for management and maintenance of funders database and ensure efficient system utilization across all units
Oversee the implementation of ongoing programs to improve the renewal rates of existing annual donors, creatively use events to upgrade donors and maintain a diversity of revenue
Work with the VP of Operations to develop annual budgets and income projections
Stay abreast of political and philanthropic trends and ensure that Board and staff are informed of changes in legislation and other trends and initiatives that might impact giving
Competencies:
Experience in fundraising and achieving corporate s;ponsorships

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years fundraising experience
Proven success in securing foundation and individual donor support
Experience managing a team, including experience in creating and managing successful major gifts programs
A clear understanding of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit legal issues/structures.
Well-developed writing, interpersonal and organizational skills and experience managing staff
Commitment to organization’s mission and understanding of current policy issues and political landscape
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with, and quickly gain the respect and support of, various constituencies, including a visible chief executive committed to raising money, established development management team, active board members, other senior leadership, program directors and donors.
Experience as an effective communicator who is articulate and persuasive in both the spoken and written word; must be adept at crafting materials and making presentations to a variety of audiences

This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This job operates in a typical office setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a permanent full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel Requirements: This position has frequent travel throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000/year
Commensurate according to years of experience. All employees must meet a 6-month probationary period. Continuation of this position after one year is dependent on the successful candidate meeting jointly determined performance goals.

JOB PURPOSE
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe operation of forklift equipment while transporting material and is also responsible for the pre equipment inspection. The position may require manual loading and unloading of material with or without a pallet jack. Manually loads or unloads material from pallets, skids, platforms or lifting devices.
Receives inventory when required, responsible for receipt of daily inbound and return items.
This position also requires count accuracy of items to ensure all items are received or returned are in satisfactory condition.
Consults with and works with managers, supervisors, employees, and vendors to coordinate loading and unloading operations.
Compiles and maintains quantity, type, and value of material, merchandise, or supplies stocked in inventory.

JOB PURPOSE

In the second year, the resident will focus on an area of specialization, deepening their skills and developing specialized experience in an area of their choice with the goal of being able to add one year of dedicated professional experience to their resume. In the third year, the resident will have the opportunity to continue their year two placement or select a new area of focus, and will receive mentorship and support in career development as well as dedicated time to apply to future positions.

Program Counselor Farm and/or Low Ropes/Zip/Challenge Course Duties: The Program Lead will assist Program Counselors with overall supervision and guidance related to campers. Additionally, the Program Counselor lives with and provides programming for units of 12-24 campers during 3-day, 6-day, and 9-day residential camp sessions. The Program Counselor will plan, direct, and implement activities in one or more assigned specialty themes each week for a unit of 12-24 campers. Daily and weekly schedules are developed under the direction of supervisors and in cooperation with other unit staff, based on camp program, activity planning, and camp goals. This role works on a team of 2-5 other cabin staff implementing all camp duties and responsibilities in order to support and counsel the unit of campers in daily living, camp activities and developing peer relationships all while carrying out camp goals. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Sky High Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain a positive rapport and communication with campers, parents, volunteers, and staff.
Guide campers in developing peer relationships which includes and appreciates all members and accepts individual differences.
Get to know assigned campers by reading the parent information, talking to parents, and listening to campers. Consistently show interest in the campers.

Program Counselor Farm and/or Low Ropes/Zip/Challenge Course Duties: The Program Lead will assist Program Counselors with overall supervision and guidance related to campers. Additionally, the Program Counselor lives with and provides programming for units of 12-24 campers during 3-day, 6-day, and 9-day residential camp sessions. The Program Counselor will plan, direct, and implement activities in one or more assigned specialty themes each week for a unit of 12-24 campers. Daily and weekly schedules are developed under the direction of supervisors and in cooperation with other unit staff, based on camp program, activity planning, and camp goals. This role works on a team of 2-5 other cabin staff implementing all camp duties and responsibilities in order to support and counsel the unit of campers in daily living, camp activities and developing peer relationships all while carrying out camp goals. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Sky High Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain a positive rapport and communication with campers, parents, volunteers, and staff.
Guide campers in developing peer relationships which includes and appreciates all members and accepts individual differences.
Get to know assigned campers by reading the parent information, talking to parents, and listening to campers. Consistently show interest in the campers.
Make sure that each camper has at least one adult counselor who knows them by name, who knows of special problems and parent goals, and whom they can feel cares about them as an individual.
Work in conjunction with Program Counselors, CITs, PAs, and Volunteers providing adequate support.
Demonstrate a recognition and understanding of good customer service in all dealings and interactions as an employee of Girl Scouts of Colorado by maintaining constructive relationships with co-workers, camp members, parents, volunteers, and the community.
Talk to parents to share information, to get input, to reassure them and to promote a positive image of camp.
Provide support to staff and volunteers as needed.
Confer regularly with supervisees individually to improve their performance.

Teach and participate in rehearsals of emergency procedures.
Notify the Health Team of health problems/concerns of campers or staff. Assure that campers receive medications as directed by the Health Supervisor, including on hikes and overnights.
See that campers are properly dressed for camp activities.
Administer first aid until the Health Supervisor or other professionals arrive (if necessary).
Implement security procedures and inspect site daily for hazards. Alert supervisor to potentially hazardous conditions or security situations and take steps to minimize risk.
Keep records, write reports, and submit recommendations as directed.
Maintain, use, and store equipment and facilities properly; report needed repairs. Inventory equipment as directed.
Respect the confidential nature of all information pertaining to staff, volunteers, or campers.

Wellness Supervisor General Duties: The Wellness Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, implementation, and management of mental, emotional, and social health services at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
Participate as an active member of the camp staff team within all aspects of camp program.
Work with health supervisor, assistant health supervisor, executive camp director, GSCO health supervisor, and camp directors to provide wellness care for all persons within camp program.
Assist in the weekly and daily health screening procedures and results of all persons.
Communicate and advise staff on accommodations to provide for special medical/health/wellness considerations.
Maintain constant professional communication and partnership with caregivers regarding the mental and emotional health care and services provided to campers.

Program Responsibilities
Provide wellness, mindfulness, 'Popsicles of Positivity', and team building programs, with a focus on self-care, positivity, kindness, empathy, and JEDI practices.
Assist with the implementation of general camp program for campers during overnight, troop day, and family camp sessions.
Camper Leadership & Supervision
Provide care and supervision for all cases of mental illness, emotional support, neurodivergent persons, and special considerations of campers.
At all times, act 'in loco parentis' regarding the wellness services for all campers in overnight camp sessions.
Accountable for assuring campers receive quality wellness health care.
Support & counsel campers in daily living, camp activities, and developing peer relationships.

Provide support to staff seeking help/assistance in areas of mental, emotional, and social health.
Aid staff when reports of child abuse/neglect are made and contacting county due to the reporting of child abuse/neglect.
Perform initial and ongoing training in mental health, wellness practices, homesickness prevention & support, behavioral and special considerations, bullying/aggressive behavior, and guidance (discipline) strategies, for the purposes of staff continued education.
Continually evaluate staff on the camp-wide mental, emotional, and social health procedures & practices.
Provide mental health first aid advice according to procedures.
Provide in-person medication administration training for staff, as needed & assigned.

On-Call Housekeeping Staff: The Housekeeping Staff Member will clean, restock, and maintain camp facilities and equipment to ensure it meets cleanliness, sanitization & disinfecting requirements to provide a clean and healthy space for all residents on camp. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Tomahawk Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the daily cleaning, disinfecting & sanitation of all camp areas, camp vehicles and program equipment throughout the property.
Maintain camp facilities in clean and ready to use condition.
Cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects according to the GSCO Cleaning & Disinfecting Protocols for OP & Properties.
Responsible for completing daily cleanliness check logs of all camp areas.
Creates and follows all cleaning schedules of camp areas.
Specific cleaning duties include, but are not limited to:
Cleaning and disinfecting toilets, showers/bathtubs, bathroom countertops and sinks.
Cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, railings, door handles, tables, chairs & program areas.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen areas & laundry facility.
Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs.
Sweeping/vacuuming and mopping hard floors.
Sorting, washing, loading, folding, and unloading laundry.
Help with keeping bathrooms stocked with necessary supplies.
Cleaning/washing windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
Help with emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste.
Help with the general upkeep of all camp areas.
Assist with the set up and cleanup of all dining hall procedures.
Assists Facilities Maintenance department with inspecting Kaper charts, documenting insufficiencies, and positively reinforcing commitment to Kaper chart use.
Use safe practices in all duties & activities in accordance with camp procedures and guidelines.
Practice good housekeeping and sanitation practices. Encourage good hygiene practices by all camp residents and visitors.
Participate in rehearsals of emergency procedures.
Assist with check-in and check-out days.
Implement health risk procedures. Alert supervisor to potential exposure of a communicable disease.
Implement security procedures. Alert supervisor to potentially hazardous conditions or situations.
Maintain, use, and store equipment and facilities properly; report needed inventory or repairs.
Help with the continuous stocking of equipment/inventory.
Must have strict adherence to all safety and security procedures.
Participate in pre-camp and in-service trainings, attend staff meetings, and contribute to the planning and coordinating of the work of the total staff team.
Participate in supervisory conferences and in the staff evaluation process.

On-Call Housekeeping Staff: The Housekeeping Staff Member will clean, restock, and maintain camp facilities and equipment to ensure it meets cleanliness, sanitization & disinfecting requirements to provide a clean and healthy space for all residents on camp. A primary function of this, and every other job at the Tomahawk Ranch, is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor receives the highest caliber of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the daily cleaning, disinfecting & sanitation of all camp areas, camp vehicles and program equipment throughout the property.
Maintain camp facilities in clean and ready to use condition.
Cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects according to the GSCO Cleaning & Disinfecting Protocols for OP & Properties.
Responsible for completing daily cleanliness check logs of all camp areas.
Creates and follows all cleaning schedules of camp areas.
Specific cleaning duties include, but are not limited to:
Cleaning and disinfecting toilets, showers/bathtubs, bathroom countertops and sinks.
Cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, railings, door handles, tables, chairs & program areas.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen areas & laundry facility.
Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs.
Sweeping/vacuuming and mopping hard floors.
Sorting, washing, loading, folding, and unloading laundry.
Help with keeping bathrooms stocked with necessary supplies.
Cleaning/washing windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
Help with emptying trash receptacles and disposing of waste.
Help with the general upkeep of all camp areas.
Assist with the set up and cleanup of all dining hall procedures.
Assists Facilities Maintenance department with inspecting Kaper charts, documenting insufficiencies, and positively reinforcing commitment to Kaper chart use.
Use safe practices in all duties & activities in accordance with camp procedures and guidelines.
Practice good housekeeping and sanitation practices. Encourage good hygiene practices by all camp residents and visitors.
Participate in rehearsals of emergency procedures.
Assist with check-in and check-out days.
Implement health risk procedures. Alert supervisor to potential exposure of a communicable disease.
Implement security procedures. Alert supervisor to potentially hazardous conditions or situations.
Maintain, use, and store equipment and facilities properly; report needed inventory or repairs.
Help with the continuous stocking of equipment/inventory.
Must have strict adherence to all safety and security procedures.
Participate in pre-camp and in-service trainings, attend staff meetings, and contribute to the planning and coordinating of the work of the total staff team.
Participate in supervisory conferences and in the staff evaluation process.

This position provides oversight for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all behavioral health programs, projects, and initiatives through supervision of the behavioral health operations unit. This position ensures adherence to legislative and OHA leadership priorities while guiding a diverse team of behavioral subject matter experts in their area to implement changes within the behavioral health unit to synthesize person-directed, trauma-informed, equitable, effective approaches towards behavioral health services in Oregon. Using this lens, they are using collaborative managerial and supervisory practices to revise methods for evaluation, monitoring, business practices, program funding, budget analysis, hiring and performance metrics.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR four years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Desired Attributes
Experience in advancing health equity, addressing systemic health inequities and collaborating with diverse communities most harmed by social injustice and health inequities.
Lived experience with behavioral health needs or accessing behavioral health services. Must possess certification as a THW Certified Peer Support Specialist or Peer Wellness Specialist, or have ability to become certified within six months of hire.
Knowledge and / or experience with Peer Delivered Services.
Experience in advancing health equity, including effective delivery of culturally responsive and inclusive services, evidence of ongoing development of personal cultural awareness and humility, and knowledge of social determinants of health and their impacts on health outcomes.
Experience in advancing state and community-based programs or initiatives centered on people with lived experience.
Experience developing, implementing policies and programs at the community, state, and/or national level that center the voices of people with lived experience and promote equity and inclusion.
Demonstrated ability to build and steward positive relationships with diverse community groups including people with lived experience, communities of color, immigrant groups, the disability community, and other traditionally marginalized communities.
Established relationships with, or demonstrated ability to develop, strong, collaborative, and partnership-based relationships with people with lived experience, the peer community, and those receiving services within Oregon’s Behavioral Health System.
Previous experience in alternative dispute resolution, and conflict resolution valued in this position. Position requires influencing systems-wide changes by applying an equity framework to all work.
Knowledge about contracts/interagency agreement administration, procurement, and project management within the context of Oregon state government (e.g. OHA/ODHS) or other complex health services delivery organizations.
Specific knowledge of Oregon Administrative Rules and Oregon Revised Statutes, other applicable regulations, and program requirements.
Knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, evaluation, and maintenance of state and federal programs, particularly those involving behavioral health and crossovers to the justice system.
Knowledge of Medicaid, community mental health programs, Substance Use Disorder and/or problem gambling health delivery systems, with experience implementing health care transformation in Oregon preferred.
Experience working with the Legislature, community groups and local government. Involved frequent contact with the Governor’s Office, professional associations, government officials and legislators.
Ability to provide organizational leadership to support inter-and cross-agency collaboration and systems-wide changes that support advocacy, equity, and client-centered policies and solutions.
Specific knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, iterative design, and improvement science.
Strong communication skills across a variety of forms that demonstrate the ability to facilitate appreciative inquiry, foster trust and transparency, and promote human-centered change management. Oral and written cross-cultural communications skills and experience preferred. Ability to use empathy and active listening to understand others’ concerns and to articulate and address those concerns in a proactive, resolution-focused way.
