What will you do?
The HIV/STD/TB (HST) Section works to reduce the rates of gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia infections, eliminate new HIV infections, improve health outcomes of persons living with HIV, and reduce the incidence of tuberculosis (TB) disease among Oregonians. The Section is responsible for data collection and surveillance activities, data dissemination, epidemiologic analysis, facilitating community led planning, coordinating disease intervention and contact notification, ensuring access to treatment, managing client service programs, providing education and technical assistance.

Position Summary: The Bilingual Administrative Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily site operations at HRM’s Highlandtown office site, a site that conducts business in both English and Spanish. The Administrative Coordinator is the first contact the public has with House of Ruth Maryland at the Highlandtown office and is responsible for setting a helpful, welcoming, and informed tone for visitors. Many of the individuals seeking services at the Highlandtown office have experienced multiple traumas. In addition to intimate partner/ sexual violence (IPSV), many have also experienced violence during the immigration process, violence in their home country, and community based violence that includes discrimination and hate crimes. These complex traumatic events shape how survivors interact with the people around them, and the Administrative Coordinator must be comfortable engaging traumatized people, who may present for assistance in a variety of emotional states and not always be clear about what they are seeking from us. The Administrative Coordinator engages visitors with sensitivity, with safety in mind, and assists visitors in getting to the right person to address their needs in an efficient and confidential manner. The Administrative Coordinator is also primarily responsible for the ensuring the day to day operations of the Highlandtown office site run smoothly, coordinating schedules for coverage, site and community events; managing the use of spaces on site; interacting with vendors; and managing the food pantry logistics. Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Learning Specialist on the Palm Bay Campus in Palm Bay, Florida.
To provide tutoring services for math students one-on-one, in groups, or in a drop-in setting in the Academic Success Center (ASC). The Learning Specialist will also provide operational support to the ASC.
The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
Required: Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Mathematics/Engineering/Science or related field.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in Mathematics/Engineering/Science or related field.
Previous teaching/tutoring experience preferred.
Demonstrate knowledge of the various levels of math taught at Eastern Florida State College.
Ability to effectively communicate mathematical knowledge to a diverse student population.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with people in various functions and of different academic and cultural backgrounds.
Detail-oriented, student-focused professional with strong written and oral communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with math instructors, tutors, and ASC Coordinator.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in providing programmatic resources with an attitude of professionalism.
Ability to use technology creatively.
Intermediate to advanced computing skills, including but not limited to MathXL, MyMathLab, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access – highly preferred.
