OVERVIEW OF JOB Boys Town Nebraska is seeking a Part Time Gift Shop Clerk and Guide to work 12-15 hours per week as well as 2-3 Weekends per month and holidays, based in Omaha, Nebraska. As our Gift Shop Clerk and Guide you will be responsible for opening the gift shop, stock and sell merchandise, greets visitors, monitor the shop during business hours, inventory merchandise, arranges displays, and interact with customers. You will be required to handle cash transactions, and perform light cleaning functions. You will serves as reference source for visitors and callers, review and respond to telephone messages, and redirect telephone calls to appropriate departments within Boys Town. You may also be taking reservations for guided tours and furnishing a self-guided CD for use on the tour; preparing visitor packets for tours and following up with thank you cards. You will potentially conduct tours; communicate Boys Town history and points of interest and answering questions related to the tour and Boys Town. You will coordinate schedules with other tours to ensure that tour paths do not intersect, keep tours on schedule, and arrange lunch for tour groups. Schedule : 12-15 hours during the week (exact days worked are flexible) 2-3 Weekends per month and Holidays (required) Gift Shop Hours Monday - Friday 8am-5pm Saturday 9am-4pm Sunday 11am - 4pm Holiday Hours Half Days Typically 4-5 hours REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR SKILLS High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous work experience preferably to include customer service, retail, or tourism. Preferred Some Knowledge Boys Town history. Ability to speak comfortably in front of large groups of strangers in an articulate, professional manner. High level of customer service and interpersonal skills. Computer skills in Microsoft Office. Ability to run and balance a cash register.
