As a Software Testing Engineer, you will support software development and operational activities on the OR-Kids (SACWIS) System. You will work on one or more of the following activities: Performing data analysis using SQL. Utilizing SQL Server, T-SQL and SQL Server Integration Services to support reporting and database functions. Creating test plans, test scripts and test reports to support technical team testing functions. Working on software development teams to make significant functional enhancements to the system. The primary focus of the Software Testing Engineer is to preform Solutions Quality Assurance (SQA) testing, you will work closely with technical team members to develop and implement solutions. You will also work with business analysts to understand business requirements, specify technical requirements and test new features. What's in it for you? MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (a) Four (4) years of information systems experience involving software testing and/or developing test plans. OR (b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND two (2) years of information systems experience involving software testing and/or developing test plans. OR (c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above. REQUESTED SKILLS: Extensive Knowledge of: • contemporary software development life cycle approaches (e.g., Waterfall, Iterative, Agile). • the goals and characteristics of the types of testing performed in an application life cycle. • information systems requirements analysis methods, tools and techniques. General Knowledge of: • test automation principles, approaches and techniques. • quality assurance and quality control principles. • IT service management principles. • project planning and scheduling principles and techniques. Skill: • using requirements traceability tools to map solution requirements to test requirements. • writing project, phase and iteration test plans based on a project's test strategy. • estimating and planning SQA/test activities based on a project's complexity and approach. • reviewing and revising IT service contracts, and monitoring contract performance. • planning and coordinating work assignments to align with project schedules and resources. • providing technical staff guidance, mentoring, training and assistance.
