The Commodity Manager is responsible to strategically develop and oscillator and XTAL strategies for Arista in order to drive time to market, continuity of supply and meet cost reduction initiatives. The role will require the individual to be familiar with the complete range of strategic sourcing activities. This includes the analysis of spend, the formulation of and implementation of commodity strategies, the negotiation of contracts and the ongoing management of strategic supplier relationships. Responsibilities Creates, implements, and maintains strategic sourcing strategies for Arista’s Oscillator and XTAL commodities to support company requirements. Undertakes spend analysis, supplier assessment and supplier selection to agreed processes. Develops and implements commodity strategies in line with company and manufacturing initiatives to improve supply chain efficiencies and reduce the total cost of supply chain management. Builds cost models (TAC/should cost) to validate commodity strategies and to understand cost drivers. Coordinates all activities with Engineering, NPI, and suppliers to ensure the selection of parts with long lifetimes and solid supply availability. Working with the site supply chain leads, this individual will manage relationships with suppliers on behalf of Arista. Develops a robust commodity supply base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage for Arista, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spend, and leveraging of technologies. Monitors/reports on priority projects and savings. Ensures that agreed strategic sourcing targets for cost reduction are met in the commodity portfolio. This includes responsibility for meeting improvement plan targets and year on year cost reductions. Provides support to NPI teams as required to meet target costs and establish program cost models. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations or Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 10 years’ experience in a networking environment (preferred), electronics or electrical, purchasing, commodity management and materials management positions. CPIM, CIRM, and/or C.P.M. desired. Excellent Program and Project Management Skills. Manufacture blood products according to FDA, AABB, CLIA and ARC procedures.  Meet the quality and quantity production and testing goals established by the department. Ensure products are suitable for release for distribution. Appropriately manage any exceptions. Perform good inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing process.  Prioritize workload of self and others, to meet production and customer requirements. 2: Perform quality control on products, reagents, equipment, and various test kits.  Perform and interpret various testing procedures on donor specimens and blood products.   Tracks the quantities and results of QC testing performed to meet ARC and regulatory requirements.  3: Operate, maintain, repair and perform validation and quality control checks on laboratory equipment, reagents and supplies to ensure the quality and accuracy of laboratory test procedures. Participate in the performance of qualifications and validations for collections equipment. Ensure adequate inventory of required supplies.  4: Perform data entry and operate the computer programs associated with component production, labeling and testing. Maintain accurate, legible and complete manufacturing department records. Maintain accurate electronic and physical inventory locations for products/samples. Perform supervisory review of manufacturing records and other QC processes. Participate in suspect product investigations, troubleshooting and problem-solving activities with cross-functional teams.  5: Analyze and make decisions based on visual inspection and information provided from other departments to meet time requirements and quality standards.  Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements.  6: Participate in QC staff training and QC projects. May serve as a project lead. Qualifications:   Education: Bachelor's degree in science, MT (ASCP) degree or equivalent certification preferred or Associated degree in science, (MLT) preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Must meet State and CLIA requirements. Management Experience: N/A Skills/Abilities: Ability to use a wide variety of lab or medical equipment.  Ability to use a personal computer and applicable software for sustained periods of time.
