Responsibilities:
This is a permanent position open to current or former competitive service federal employees. It will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of design-related processes and products. Sample duties include Quality Assurance of QCP’s, Review Plans, Value Engineering (VE) Management Plan, Risk Management Plan, and similar documents; oversight of Management Internal Control Program (MICP) and Organizational Inspection Program (OIP) activities within Engineering & Construction (E&C) Division; maintenance of E&C related Quality Management System (QMS) processes; and management of the content of the E&C PRB and Engineering Management System.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, encompasses over 59,000 square miles and includes parts of seven states. It has regulatory, flood control, navigation, hydropower, and recreational responsibility for the Cumberland River watershed, and regulatory and navigation responsibility for most of the Tennessee River watershed. The Nashville District has a workforce composed of both GS and wage grade employees working in 49 field offices in parts of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama, and the District headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. The 750+ employees in the Nashville District work in 150 different career positions which include Engineers (Civil, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical), Hydropower Operators, Mechanics and Electricians, Biologists, Archeologists, Geologists, Park Rangers, Environmental Specialists, Derrickboat Operators, Lock and Dam Equipment Mechanics, Lock Operators, Attorneys, Contract Specialists, Accountants, Budget Analysts, Realty Specialists, Project Managers, Program Managers, Planners, Engineering Techs, Construction Techs, Accounting Techs, Administrative and Clerical, and Information Technology.
