Application Developer

The Application Developer is a part of a team that develops and maintains custom university web applications. This position works closely with campus partners to understand their operational needs and determine if a custom application is warranted. The developer will utilize the full development life cycle, bringing in colleagues when needed to create branded, accessible, and fully functional applications. As a part of Enterprise Solutions, this position will also work with the team to establish and maintain development standards and processes that enhance productivity and scalability. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Write code necessary to establish and maintain reliable and quality applications within the .NET framework 
• Analyze campus partner needs and utilize the full development life cycle to create and deploy applications 
• Work with the Enterprise Solutions team to establish and maintain application development standards and processes that support consistency across applications, uphold data quality and security best practice standards, and provide scalable and stable solutions  
• Create administrative screens for campus partners to reduce the need for assistance in maintaining functionality and access; provide documentation, training, and support to campus partners and end-users 
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and document application issues in a timely manner 
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or similar course of study; Master’s degree preferred 
• Two years professional development experience; experience in higher education preferred 
• Extensive knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, editing frameworks, SQL, HTML; working knowledge of CSS, jQuery, and Web APIs; foundational knowledge of ASP.NET Core preferred
