LCV is hiring a Vice President of Membership & Direct Response Fundraising who will lead, design and direct the organization’s efforts to significantly expand, engage, and diversify our base of grassroots funders and activists. The Vice President of Membership & Direct Response Fundraising is responsible for evaluating all facets of our current program, proposing and executing plans for its expansion and the management, development and growth of the grassroots file and budget across all channels.

Responsibilities:
Manage a team of three existing direct response staff and several direct response and digital partners while identifying gaps and opportunities for expansion and growth.

Lead the development of the strategies, structure, and operating systems to achieve short- and long-term direct response fundraising and advocacy program goals at LCV.

Through careful analytics and reporting, ensure the program maximizes revenue and return on investment.
Lead the growth marketing strategy and execution of a well-established, but constantly evolving monthly giving program, ensuring the program’s budgetary goals are accurately established and met.
Work with LCV program, development and communications managers to develop, coordinate and lead the engagement of LCV members in advocacy.
Serve as the primary lead on the direct marketing program’s budgeting process, monitoring program revenue and expenses, analyzing and interpreting program results to consistently innovate and improve performance.
Improve segmentation and messaging to create a personal and positive experience for donors and activists through email, informed by analytics (e.g., predictive modeling, social media data mining).
Support preparation of annual revenue and expense targets and manage spending to stay within budget.
Travel up to 10% for staff retreats, trainings and conferences, as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – Minimum of ten years experience in direct marketing including direct mail, telemarketing and digital (paid media and email). Experience leading strategy and execution of a mid-large scale, multi-channel, direct response fundraising operation. Proven experience participating in a collaborative, cross-functional fundraising leadership team. Must have demonstrated supervisory experience successfully managing and growing high performing teams. Experience leading overall strategy of as well as day-to-day implementation of a complex direct marketing program. Experience utilizing analytics and data to drive strategies, data segmentation and reporting to leverage and maximize growth including upgrades and lapsed strategies. Preferred – Issue advocacy and/or electoral campaign experience. Experience working with a national organization who has state affiliates or chapters.
Skills: Ability to lead on issues of racial justice and equity. Proven leadership skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, and often fast paced environment- balancing input while reacting quickly and efficiently. Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives. Work with LCV program, development and communications managers to develop, coordinate and lead the engagement of LCV members in advocacy.
Serve as the primary lead on the direct marketing program’s budgeting process, monitoring program revenue and expenses, analyzing and interpreting program results to consistently innovate and improve performance.
Improve segmentation and messaging to create a personal and positive experience for donors and activists through email, informed by analytics (e.g., predictive modeling, social media data mining).
Support preparation of annual revenue and expense targets and manage spending to stay within budget.

Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – Minimum of ten years experience in direct marketing including direct mail, telemarketing and digital (paid media and email). RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications:
Work Experience: Required – A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in paid media, online advocacy, or digital marketing. Experience writing, creating, and/or curating compelling content. Experience with lead generation and campaigns built for conversion both organically and through paid advertisements on a wide variety of platforms. Experience tracking budgets and using data-driven methods to measure the success of campaigns. Experience working in Facebook Business Manager and Google ads. Experience with project management. As Partner for Digital, you’ll be tasked with building out our digital infrastructure and leading engagement strategy, ensuring that our messages break out and break through to new audiences. Plan and direct a comprehensive, complex fundraising operation that includes maintaining and growing annual revenues of $100M+ from membership, mid-level donors, major donor principal giving, planned giving, foundations and other institutional funders.
Lead the department’s focus on expanding the racial diversity of the donor and activist base at all levels, and ensure fundraising strategies foster inclusion of donors and activists of color.
Own, manage, and grow a select portfolio of principal gift individual donors, institutional funders, and prospects.
Develop a vision and practices that increase integration and coordination of fundraising across the CVM, which is our network of 30+ state affiliates.
In coordination with NRDC Action Votes & NRDC Action Fund PAC, ensure that GiveGreen, a multi-million dollar candidate fundraising program, is staffed, resourced, and set up to succeed.
In collaboration with the Executive Team, Communications Department, and other senior development staff, create unified and inclusive messages and marketing frames to motivate and inspire individual and institutional donors and prospects at all levels to support LCV and LCVEF’s missions.
Coordinate with operations and campaigns teams to boost the use of data to inform goals and priorities. Work with the development team on short-and long-term revenue forecasting for membership, mid-level and major donor (individual and institutional) programs.
