Position Title : Development Director

We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Development Director to implement our development plan. This is a key role in helping to grow the organization. The successful candidate will be analytical and creative, collaborate well with a passionate and fun staff, and coordinate and manage multiple projects. The Development Director will play a key role in the leadership of the organization as part of the organization’s Executive Team.

Essential Functions: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Development Director (DD) will provide strategic leadership for the planning, implementation, evaluation, integration, and administration development department. The DD will lead a team of development professionals in achieving the organization’s revenue goals, increasing income, and educating and engaging more individuals and institutions in the to advance the organization’s mission. The DD will be part of a skilled team of professionals working to raise at least $5 million annually. The DD manages a multi-faceted fundraising program; central to this role will be prioritizing personal solicitation of major donors, events, online and direct marketing, and foundation fundraising.
Duties:
Work closely with the Development Team to establish fundraising goals, set strategic priorities, advise on program development, and develop and meet annual budget
Manage and build a growing team of development professionals, provide on-going guidance, direction, and motivation, hire team members and provide oversight to consultants as needed, delegate appropriately and ensure strong internal communication and coordination, and evaluate performance and provide opportunities for personal and professional growth
Work closely with the Boards of Directors to engage them more deeply in the fundraising process and to help cultivate a strong relationship between board members and the organization
Help track cultivation and prospecting activity and ensure the execution of action items
Solicit contributions from major individual donors and steward long-term relationships with donors
Develop relationships with prospective individual and foundation donors to increase funding
Research prospective institutional and individual funders
Work with internal partners to draft and edit proposals and reports
Track proposal and reporting deadlines, ensure that all submitted materials are accurate and comply with any funder requirements
Manage all grant activity in a central database and deliver regular reports to the Executive Director
Serve as the point person for management and maintenance of funders database and ensure efficient system utilization across all units
Oversee the implementation of ongoing programs to improve the renewal rates of existing annual donors, creatively use events to upgrade donors and maintain a diversity of revenue
Work with the VP of Operations to develop annual budgets and income projections
Stay abreast of political and philanthropic trends and ensure that Board and staff are informed of changes in legislation and other trends and initiatives that might impact giving
Competencies:

Required Education and Experience:

A clear understanding of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit legal issues/structures.
Well-developed writing, interpersonal and organizational skills and experience managing staff
Commitment to organization’s mission and understanding of current policy issues and political landscape
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with, and quickly gain the respect and support of, various constituencies, including a visible chief executive committed to raising money, established development management team, active board members, other senior leadership, program directors and donors.
Experience as an effective communicator who is articulate and persuasive in both the spoken and written word; must be adept at crafting materials and making presentations to a variety of audiences

This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This job operates in a typical office setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a permanent full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel Requirements: This position has frequent travel throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000/year
Commensurate according to years of experience. All employees must meet a 6-month probationary period. Continuation of this position after one year is dependent on the successful candidate meeting jointly determined performance goals.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a licensed D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or D.M.D (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry) in the State of Oregon in good standing.
Seven (7) years of experience in dentistry.
Must reside in the State of Oregon.

Position Overview
America Votes is seeking a dynamic, collaborative leader with a history of successfully executing issue and electoral campaign programs as well as deep experience building strong partnerships and coalitions to serve as Colorado State Director.
The State Director is responsible for leading and supporting local, state, and national America Votes partner organizations, developing the strategy to advance coalition-wide priorities, and to manage the execution of coordinated direct voter contact plans in Colorado.
The State Director will grow the state coalition and coordinate strategies between state and national partners to maximize the priorities, resources, and effectiveness of all partners.
The State Director will take a strategic, collaborative, and flexible approach to coalition management, planning and decision making and can lead through periods of political transition and membership expansion. The State Director will recognize and capitalize on immediate political opportunities while also staying focused on long-term strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Campaign Strategy: Work with America Votes partner organizations and stakeholders to design efficient and effective statewide and ballot-level electoral and voter education plans based on short and long-term priorities. Manage, evaluate, troubleshoot, and report on program outcomes and progress toward goals. Work with America Votes' national team to identify in-state funding opportunities to support America Votes' operations and partner-led programs.
Staff Hiring and Management : Lead a diverse, talented team in Colorado. Manage the team including development of work plans, professional development, and ongoing supervision and support. Implement America Votes' organizational goals and manage staff toward delivering on the shared goals of the organization. Ensure a safe, welcoming, cohesive, and inspiring team culture for staff to excel in; Role model and uphold the organization's values of creating an inclusive and equitable working environment for all members of the team.
Coalition Leadership & Management: Convene individual coalition partners and the collective table on a regular basis and facilitate discussions, decision making, and other critical work. Assist local organizations in identifying resources to build capacity and improve performance, shared strategy, and organization-specific campaign plans. Implement systems for ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of strategies. Work directly with national staff and partners to ensure smooth communication with state operations. Explore strategic opportunities to expand collaborations with stakeholders. Facilitate a collaborative and productive state coalition environment that advances racial equity goals. Ensure the security, development, and appropriate usage of the state coalition voter file.
Equity and Inclusion : Lead the coalition in approaching campaign, electoral, and coalition work through a lens of racial equity. Model principles of equity, diversity and inclusion internally and externally. Be culturally competent and support work to build power with BIPOC-led and focused partners.
Advance Election Modernization: Support or develop ongoing programs and legislative advocacy related to election modernization in collaboration with voting rights organizations and advocates.

Key Qualifications
Required
7+ years of electoral and advocacy campaign experience. At least two cycles in leadership for statewide campaign operations and management of campaign staff.
Expertise in electoral field program management, including outstanding organizing skills and the ability to write, evaluate, and execute winning campaign plans with a strong direct voter contact component.

Position Overview
America Votes is seeking a dynamic, collaborative leader with a history of successfully executing issue and electoral campaign programs as well as deep experience building strong partnerships and coalitions to serve as Colorado State Director.
The State Director is responsible for leading and supporting local, state, and national America Votes partner organizations, developing the strategy to advance coalition-wide priorities, and to manage the execution of coordinated direct voter contact plans in Colorado.
The State Director will grow the state coalition and coordinate strategies between state and national partners to maximize the priorities, resources, and effectiveness of all partners.
The State Director will take a strategic, collaborative, and flexible approach to coalition management, planning and decision making and can lead through periods of political transition and membership expansion. The State Director will recognize and capitalize on immediate political opportunities while also staying focused on long-term strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Campaign Strategy: Work with America Votes partner organizations and stakeholders to design efficient and effective statewide and ballot-level electoral and voter education plans based on short and long-term priorities. Manage, evaluate, troubleshoot, and report on program outcomes and progress toward goals. Work with America Votes' national team to identify in-state funding opportunities to support America Votes' operations and partner-led programs.
Staff Hiring and Management : Lead a diverse, talented team in Colorado. Manage the team including development of work plans, professional development, and ongoing supervision and support. Implement America Votes' organizational goals and manage staff toward delivering on the shared goals of the organization. Ensure a safe, welcoming, cohesive, and inspiring team culture for staff to excel in; Role model and uphold the organization's values of creating an inclusive and equitable working environment for all members of the team.
Coalition Leadership & Management: Convene individual coalition partners and the collective table on a regular basis and facilitate discussions, decision making, and other critical work. Assist local organizations in identifying resources to build capacity and improve performance, shared strategy, and organization-specific campaign plans. Implement systems for ongoing evaluation of effectiveness of strategies. Work directly with national staff and partners to ensure smooth communication with state operations. Explore strategic opportunities to expand collaborations with stakeholders. Facilitate a collaborative and productive state coalition environment that advances racial equity goals. Ensure the security, development, and appropriate usage of the state coalition voter file.
Equity and Inclusion : Lead the coalition in approaching campaign, electoral, and coalition work through a lens of racial equity. Model principles of equity, diversity and inclusion internally and externally. Be culturally competent and support work to build power with BIPOC-led and focused partners.
Advance Election Modernization: Support or develop ongoing programs and legislative advocacy related to election modernization in collaboration with voting rights organizations and advocates.

Key Qualifications
Required
7+ years of electoral and advocacy campaign experience. At least two cycles in leadership for statewide campaign operations and management of campaign staff.

Shelter Advocacy Program Manager (Grove Campus)
SAFE Alliance seeks a Shelter Advocacy Program Manager for the Residential & Support Services Program in the Community Shelter department. Under the general direction of the Community Shelter Director, the Shelter Advocacy Program Manager is primarily responsible for providing supervision to shelter advocate team and oversight to program services that promote the safety, healing, and empowerment of survivors residing in the emergency shelter. In the past two years, our community outreach and education has provided over 400 trainings to over 7,000 community members. Our various housing and shelter programs have provided over 46,000 nights/days of care and served over 3,000 youth and adults directly affected by abuse. We have provided over 10,000 callers/chats/texts, walk-in advocacy and crisis interventions or face-to-face emotional support through our 24/7 confidential SAFEline.

Position Details:
We are looking for one person to work on a full-time, exempt basis for an annual salary of $53,000 dependent upon experience; plus an additional annual language differential of $3,600 for those who are English/Spanish bilingual. The work location will be based out of our Grove Blvd. Campus in the East Austin area and the Community Shelter locations which is using a scattered site model to provide in person services. This position will include some travel and will allow for some remote/hybrid work.

Required Qualifications:
Be capable of sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as be able to intermittently push, pull, or lift 20 lbs. of force.
Occasional exposure to adverse working conditions, including the performance of work in cramped and/or awkward positions, and exposure to safety hazards, loud noises, traffic, and inclement weather conditions is possible. Must be physically able to use authorized management of aggressive behavior techniques.
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field; equivalent years of professional experience in social services may be substituted for each year of bachelor's level education; Masters preferred.
Two years' experience in direct client work is required and preference will be given to those with experience in a residential, crisis, and/or homeless or domestic violence shelter program.
Two years of supervisory experience is required.
Experience and skilled in data entry/collection using online database to track program outputs/outcomes and in the use of computer software including word processing, spread sheet, and power point.
Knowledge of issues and systems related to domestic & sexual violence; sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking; child abuse; and homelessness.
Pays careful attention to detail; works with accuracy and maintains neat, well-organized documentation.
Must maintain flexibility and show demonstrated ability to take responsibility for a diverse number of projects and complete them in a timely manner.
Excellent communication and listening skills; those bilingual in English/Spanish are preferred.
Ability to serve on-call in back up manager rotation; ensure 24/7 on call availability to shelter staff during week long rotation.
Have a valid, State of Texas Driver's License (If in possession of an out-of-state license, obtain a State of Texas Driver's License within 90 days of beginning employment.) AND at least three (3) consecutive years of driving experience OR one (1) year of driving experience if over 27 years of age AND an acceptable driving record that covers at least the last three years of driver history.
Pass all required criminal history background checks (including an FBI fingerprint check if applicable), as well as a pre-employment drug screen and TB test, if applicable.
