Job Description

Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Educational Records Coordinator on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida.

The Educational Records Coordinator performs complex, responsible work in administering processes related to student academic records toward graduation.  The coordinator modifies, updates, and interprets student information in several databases, evaluates college transcripts for transfer credit based on program selection, and runs degree audits to support the graduation/degree-conferral process.   This position exercises a significant amount of independent decision-making within the constraints of policy, academic curriculum, and the statewide articulation agreements among The Florida College System and the State University System.

The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:

  •  Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three years equivalent experience in a postsecondary/student services environment.
  • Familiarity with using a Student Information System (SIS). Banner preferred.
  • Proficiency with use of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software and use of the Internet.
  • Strong organizational skills to handling multiple and complex assignments and projects.
  • Experience in identifying problems, creating innovative solutions, managing projects, leading teams through collaboration, and implementing efficiencies and effectiveness using technology.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of FERPA and ability to comply with confidentiality requirements.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under moderately stressful conditions to maintain required level of productivity and to meet critical deadlines. Professional attitude and work habits.
  • Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to individuals with disabilities unable to obtain a driver’s license.  In such cases, a valid Florida ID is required.
  • This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $37.25). This fingerprinting fee ($37.25) is non-refundable.

*High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment.  All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.

Minimum physical qualifications:

  •  Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40 pounds. Works inside in an office environment.

The annual salary is $40,000Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position.  Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement.  Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
