Job Description

The Paralegal will work on a division-wide basis and perform a wide range of information management-related duties that may include (but are not limited to) records management, database management (including managing access to IT resources), review and production of documents including banking application materials that need to be made public, and legal research and cite checking.  Work may also involve assisting with the publication of regulations and other documents.

Requirements for FR-22:

Successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree. Requires specialized knowledge of legal principles, concepts, and legal research methodology acquired through completion of an American Bar Association approved Legal Assistant (Paralegal) program or equivalent experience.

Requirements for FR-23:

Successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree and a minimum of one year of related experience. Requires specialized knowledge of legal principles, concepts, and legal research methodology acquired through completion of an American Bar Association approved Legal Assistant (Paralegal) program or equivalent experience.

Remarks:

At all FR-levels:
     * Successful candidate must demonstrate strong legal research and writing skills along with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
     * Incumbent’s work will include records management, data base management, document productions, and legal research.  Work may also involve assisting with the publication of regulations and other documents.
     * Incumbent may review high volumes of documents that include email communications, calendars, policy or guidance memoranda, PowerPoint presentations, formal correspondence, and other types of documents for document production and records management purposes.
     * Incumbent will use e-Discovery tools, including Adobe Acrobat (familiarity required) and Relativity and Nuix (familiarity with Relativity and/or Nuix preferred) to search for, collect, and review responsive material.
     * Incumbent will also use the Board’s recordkeeping system and data management systems such as SharePoint (familiarity with SharePoint (on-premises and online) preferred).
     * Review of documents may involve word-by-word analysis of complex, sensitive, and/or confidential document collections to ensure that the information marked for production is appropriate for production and/or release.  As requested, incumbent will conduct legal research on applicable case law and on federal regulations.
     * Incumbent will coordinate with other divisions within the Board as necessary to accomplish work.
     * Incumbent must be “tech savvy,” and highly proficient with Word and Excel (including using formulas and creating pivot and other charts) and readily able to learn new systems.
     * Performs other related duties as assigned.
