Job Purpose
Works with HVAC Technicians on duties related to installation, operation, maintenance & repair to heating, ventilating & air condition ( HVAC ) systems within large campus dormitories and buildings connected to the Central Energy Facility. This includes chilled water systems, steam heated hot water, steam condensate piping, and self-contained refrigerant systems. Assists HVAC Technicians with installing, operating, maintaining and repairing residential heating, ventilating and air conditioning units in smaller college buildings and dormitories, historical homes and office buildings. Duties include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment problems and making repairs as required.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma and experience in the HVAC trade is required. Must be willing to expand current knowledge on how to install, perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC equipment in residential, industrial and commercial applications. Must be willing to attend training. EPA certification preferred. Must be able to complete records and paperwork associated with repairs/installations. Knowledge of campus layout and buildings is preferred. Must have a valid SC Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Must have knowledge regarding the handling of chemicals, refrigerants and industrial gasses. Considerable initiative and willingness to improve knowledge of HVAC equipment, tools, and work procedures used in HVAC equipment maintenance and repair. Must be able to anticipate, locate and correct general and emergency problems as related to HVAC /mechanical equipment maintenance and repair. Must be willing to improve understanding of the operation of computerized web-based HVAC control programs to monitor and adjust temperatures in campus buildings. Position requires basic computer skills and working knowledge and experience in using e-mail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is preferred. Experience in utilizing online work order systems is a plus. Skill with electronic devices such as iPhone and iPad is preferred. Must be able to follow oral & written instructions. All employees at the College are expected to perform their jobs in a safe manner in accordance with best safety practices as prescribed by their department, the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration training as provided by Facilities Management at the College of Charleston.

Must be able to perform duties as described and work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Must be able to work in close quarters, climb ladders/stairs, enter/exit hatches, & work on rooftops. Road tests vehicles, drive trucks or equipment as required. Diagnose and perform electrical, hydraulic and other repairs in the field. Perform smog checks, smog related failure repairs and certify vehicles.
Perform specialty repairs on Police and Fire equipment, major repairs and overhauls to engines and vehicle alignments. Use and perform minor maintenance on hand, power and shop tools and test equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and overhaul on construction equipment, heavy trucks, street sweepers, automobiles, light trucks and other equipment. Maintain and repair small gasoline engines and equipment found on mowers and chain saws.
Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and specifications. Prepare basic records and reports. Create oral and written reports of performed work. Complete forms and accurately maintain records. Estimate necessary labor, material, equipment needed to complete assignments and order parts required.
Design and fabricate parts using a variety of materials and multiple welding processes; and repair shop equipment and tools, playground equipment, truck beds, racks, sports equipment, tables, traffic cabinets and any other projects the City has.
Mentor and train others in work knowledge, procedures, skills, and abilities. Perform other duties which may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of multiple processes of welding such as: TIG, MIG, stick, dual shield and OXY fuel welding and cutting on different types of material including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass and other alloys
Knowledge of electrical systems and computer systems including 12-24 VDC and 110-220 VAC
Knowledge of safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the work

Physical Demands:

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE JOB
Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
Able to perform by specified methodology the below duties in addition to completing the associated paperwork.
Volume measurement, temperature measurement and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks and barges and ships.
Visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges and ships.
Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges and ships.
Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification and function checks.
Verify and communicate the results obtained and to make the entries into the appropriate media.
Provide on the job assistance and receive training from more experienced inspectors.
To communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport and Company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned.
To monitor the availability of the supplies needed for the above processes, and to make any needs for such supplies known to the Dispatcher or Coordinator.
To perform routine equipment calibration, verification and function checks.
To organize and coordinate jobs so that services are rendered, and reports and samples are submitted in a timely manner.
To maintain work areas, records and equipment in a clean, organized and functional condition.
To verify and communicate the results obtained and to make the entries into the appropriate media, whether print or electronic, required to ensure the validity and traceability of the information.
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
Must have basic grasp of basic mathematics and work in an automated environment.
Ability to work on an on-call basis.
Cannot have a fear of heights.
Ability to work barges and vessels , independently, with minimal training is preferred, but not required
IFIA certified is a plus!
Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.

Job Purpose
Maintains the grounds of a formally landscaped college campus and off campus sites (Patriot’s Point Athletic fields, Grice Marine Lab, Stono Preserve and Lockwood). Performs chemical applications, pond/water feature maintenance and general landscape maintenance. Other duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance such as policing the grounds, debris pickup, fertilizing, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, unclogging drainage as needed, etc.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED and the ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Knowledge of commonly used landscape plants and irrigation systems helpful. Pesticide applications license is required. Must have valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires knowledge of commonly used landscaping plants. Must be able to operate landscaping equipment/tools, including sprayers and spreaders, and recognize/identify/treat ornamental plant and tree pathogens and diseases. Knowledge of pond and water feature maintenance would be helpful. Knowledge of athletic fields with Bermuda grass, common areas of zoysia grass and St. Augustine grass is required. Must have basic knowledge of chemicals used in grounds maintenance. Must know how to apply fertilizer/pesticides. Knowledge in appropriate pesticide applications, fertilizing and preventive treatments according to state regulations is required. Must have the skill to apply chemicals to grounds/plants/bedding areas using a tank sprayer or backpack sprayer. Must have the ability to keep a log to document all spraying and chemical applications and ensure that it is current at all times. Maintains the grounds of a formally landscaped college campus and off campus sites (Patriot’s Point Athletic fields, Grice Marine Lab, Stono Preserve and Lockwood). Performs chemical applications, pond/water feature maintenance and general landscape maintenance. Other duties include, but are not limited to, routine maintenance such as policing the grounds, debris pickup, fertilizing, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning, unclogging drainage as needed, etc.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED and the ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Knowledge of commonly used landscape plants and irrigation systems helpful. Pesticide applications license is required. Must have valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment, as the employee will be required to drive state vehicles to transport equipment and/or personnel as needed. Requires knowledge of commonly used landscaping plants. Must be able to operate landscaping equipment/tools, including sprayers and spreaders, and recognize/identify/treat ornamental plant and tree pathogens and diseases. Knowledge of pond and water feature maintenance would be helpful. Knowledge of athletic fields with Bermuda grass, common areas of zoysia grass and St. Augustine grass is required. Must have basic knowledge of chemicals used in grounds maintenance. Must know how to apply fertilizer/pesticides. Knowledge in appropriate pesticide applications, fertilizing and preventive treatments according to state regulations is required. Must have the skill to apply chemicals to grounds/plants/bedding areas using a tank sprayer or backpack sprayer. Required to analyze pesticide and fertilizing treatments and report problems to supervisor. Must read, understand and keep MSDS sheets current at all times. Must have the ability to keep a log to document all spraying and chemical applications and ensure that it is current at all times. Ability/knowledge to perform routine safety inspections on all spraying or chemical application equipment. Must be reliable and responsible. Prefer working knowledge of methods/procedures associated with maintenance of plants and flowers, both annual and perennial. Must be able to recognize and know when and how to treat ornamental pathogens and diseases. Position requires basic computer skills and working knowledge and experience in using e-mail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is preferred. Experience in utilizing on-line work order systems is a plus. Skill with electronic devices such as iPhone and iPad is preferred. Must be physically able to perform duties as described, including lifting and handling heavy equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and working outside in all types of weather. Must be able to stand and walk around the campus performing grounds keeping duties for the entire shift. Must be able to drive to off campus sites each week. Must be able to climb steps/ladders, bend, reach, and stoop as necessary to perform grounds keeping duties. Some weekend, overtime, and call back work may be required to handle special events, peak workloads, and emergencies. Manage updates to individual donor records, portfolios, and prospect assignments within the CRM database.

Participate in ongoing professional development activities to maintain and enhance skills and abilities and stay abreast of current prospect management trends and research techniques.

Beginning with nurse home visits that occur during pregnancy and continue until the child is age two, Nurse Home Visitors provide coaching and care to first-time expectant clients. The nurse develops therapeutic relationships and utilizes concepts of reflection and motivational interviewing with parents and their families in a home visiting environment modeling client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches. The Nurse Home Visitor maintains the highest standards in clinical nursing practice and adherence to the NFP model, as well as to policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards of NFP and of the lead agency, Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana. Beginning with nurse home visits that occur during pregnancy and continue until the child is age two, Nurse Home Visitors provide coaching and care to first-time expectant clients. Job Summary : The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of Reference and Public Services, and assists the branch manager with branch operations including facility and branch scheduling activities.
Essential Functions:

Provides a consistently high level of service to others by assisting with requests, or locating appropriate resources for the request.
Assists library customers with their information/reference needs using a variety of technology and resources.
Assists with hiring, training, coaching, supervision and evaluation of staff assigned to the Reference Department.
Creates staff schedules and may coordinate building maintenance as needed.
Manages and implements reference procedures.
Plans for library reference needs and services including short and long-range planning.
Contributes to the collection development of the branch.
Collects, records and reports monthly statistics.
Provides technology training for customers; including one-on-one tutoring.
Monitors and maintains meeting room reservation system.
Oversees e-services and keeps them current.
Performs or manages virtual reference services and schedules time slots.
Performs duties of Branch Manager as required.
Maintains documents, special materials and collections (which differ at each branch).
Maintains confidentiality of customers and their personal information.
Fulfills Continuing Education requirements and stays current with Library developments.
Works at different locations throughout the CCPL system as needed.
Professionally represents the Library at community and organizational events that further the Library's mission and goals.
Attends meetings and participates in committees and organizations that further the Library's mission and goals.
Plans or assists with programming.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Work Standards:
Oversees the efficient operation of department/branch; shows working knowledge of all branch operations; participates in interlibrary and inter-branch activities; conducts tours and orientations.
Contributes to staff selection; evaluates job performance; establishes priorities and work schedules; trains, supervises, schedules and coaches staff.
Delegates responsibilities appropriately; takes corrective action as required; keeps supervisors and staff informed.
Keeps current with compliance training.
Acts as a role model; ensures teamwork; uses good judgment in decision-making/problem-solving; makes an effort to motivate staff; is receptive to staff suggestions/concerns.
Collects, analyzes and records statistics; generates required reports.
Uses resources effectively.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with Library Associate Certification (LATI) or equivalent; Master’s in Library Science preferred.
Three years of relevant public library experience, including two years providing information/reference services.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Equivalent combination of relevant experience and training or education may be considered.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
Work requires routine physical effort in the handling of moderately heavy materials of up to 40 pounds. Work requires standing for long periods of time and some stooping and bending. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, libraries, classrooms or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire and building safety regulations.
