The Early Childhood Health Outdoors (ECHO) program envisions a world where every young child experiences nature daily. ECHO has been working with communities for years to transform and activate their daily spaces as sources of nearby nature. Through thoughtful landscape design and training early childhood professionals on the benefits of nature play, ECHO employs a nature-based health equity strategy that improves access to the benefits of nature for children and their caregivers that have the greatest barriers to high-quality outdoor spaces. To assure that these benefits may be available to children across the nation, we are seeking an Early Childhood Policy Fellow to investigate and act on high-priority policy opportunities at the state and federal levels.
You will report directly to the ECHO Partnerships Manager and be part of NWF’s ECHO team, based out of the Rocky Mountain Regional Center in Denver, Colorado, but could also be based in NWF’s Washington, D.C. office or any other regional office . (Due to COVID-19 all employees are working remotely until we make return to work decisions, expected to be in September).
This position is part of NWF’s fellowship program. NWF Fellows must be available to work a 40-hour weekly schedule. This 11-month position offers $20.00 per hour plus core benefits.
In this role you will:
Gain working knowledge of the effort to incorporate outdoor quality into federal and state policies that influence child care systems across the nation. Connect with early childhood, children & nature, and conservation professionals to build a broader professional network.
Conduct and update policy scans relevant to early childhood outdoor quality for priority ECHO states.
Evaluate national policy opportunities, including identifying and investigating federal Administrative and legislative actions. Work with the ECHO team to develop policy recommendations.
Coordinate the development and implementation of advocacy tactics, in collaboration with national early childhood partners and working with NWF’s National Advocacy Center; this may include drafting content for policymaker, internal, media, and external partner audiences.
Working with the ECHO Partnerships Manager, lead the creation of a network of state early childhood outdoor quality champions, thereby building a cohort of influencers and advocates across the nation.
Monitor congressional hearings and briefings and track federal legislation.
Help the ECHO team produce or update data-driven charts, maps, and graphics for different target audiences.
Perform administrative duties and help with shared office tasks as needed.

This is a remote position that can be based in the watershed states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
The Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River (AWE, Alliance, or network) seeks a full-time Managing Director to provide leadership and coordination across the Alliance, including facilitating and coordinating the day-to-day activities and strategic direction of an ever-changing and adapting network of twenty-three partnering environmental education centers in the Delaware River Watershed.

Work with the Steering Committee to develop, advance, and execute Alliance strategies and goals, in accordance with an existing strategic framework.
Provide strategic guidance and direction to the Steering Committee, in line with Alliance goals.
Work with the Steering Committee and Work Groups to keep AWE’s mission and goals as the main focus, providing guidance toward the network’s efforts.
Provide full-scale meeting planning and support for Alliance-wide meetings, including developing agendas that support relevant and emergent topics, facilitating meetings, capturing takeaways, communicating outcomes and next steps to appropriate parties.
Oversee the Alliance’s internal grantmaking process to ensure projects and awarded grants are in support of the advancement of the Alliance’s defined goals.
Act as a center-point for the Alliance by creating synergy across groups and guidance of staff to ensure that work is geared toward achieving the Alliance’s defined outcomes.
Support Work Group interaction and integration, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice work, the Fellowship Program, and sharing or creating training and tools.
Facilitate the development of annual work plans by Work Groups, and monitor progress to assess, manage, and resolve conflicts and natural tensions as they arise.
Connect with Alliance Centers and members to understand their programs, aspirations/priorities and capacity to contribute to the Alliance as a whole.
Maintain sightlines into AWE’s programs and budgets, resources, assets, work completed by staff and consultants, in an effort to retain a systemic/holistic view of the Alliance's operations.
Create engagement with external stakeholders and alliances to advance the goals of the Alliance through strategic partnerships.

The communications fellow will provide day-to-day task and long-term campaign support to the communications team and National Advocacy Center. The communications fellow will work across many different areas of conservation, including policy, advocacy, education, and community engagement.

Help plan external meetings and events as well as meetings in the office with external partners and others
Help compile media placement tracking reports and other analytics using clipping services
Assist in creating and editing media lists to aid in the campaign planning process
Post and edit press releases to the Communications and Marketing sections of the National Wildlife Federation website
Perform other administrative duties as needed, such as managing the weekly team report and upcoming reports docket, taking meeting notes, and helping with shared office duties
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field required
Communications coursework or experience desired
Excellent writing and oral communications skills
Strong editing skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility
The ability to work independently and cooperatively across teams and finish projects with minimal supervision
Good multi-tasking and time management skills, including meeting deadlines
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with lists and databases a plus
Spanish fluency preferred

To support our mission, we seek a communications fellow to work in our National Advocacy Center in Washington, DC. (Due to COVID-19 all employees are working remotely until we make return to work decisions).
The communications fellow will provide day-to-day task and long-term campaign support to the communications team and National Advocacy Center. The communications fellow will work across many different areas of conservation, including policy, advocacy, education, and community engagement.
This position is part of NWF’s fellowship program. NWF Fellows must be available to work a 40-hour weekly schedule. This 11-month position offers $16.00 per hour plus core benefits.
In this role you will:
Write press releases, create media advisories, op-eds and letters to the editor, blog posts, social media toolkits and other communications materials
Support marketing and communication campaign materials across departments including developing factsheets and infographics
