The American Red Cross is seeking a Business Operations Specialist to help support our Greater New York Region.
This position is hybrid working primarily in the office with some work from home flexibility.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Business Operations Specialist supervises the daily operation of support services and business office operations for regional administrative functions; specifically supporting the Regional Disaster Officer and Regional External Affairs Officer and their teams. This includes the supervision of volunteers who will handle daily transactional responsibilities. The Business Operations Specialist manages Outlook calendars, daily finance transactions, local vendor relationships, Client support, payment processing, media monitoring platform, manages media outreach platforms such as Constant Contact, Volunteer Connection, and manages Cision monitoring and reporting along with other media platforms. Manages logistics for board and volunteer meetings. Establishes work procedures and standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned operations. Is the lead system trainer for software business applications. Provides back up support to the Executive Coordinators for Regional Chief Executive Officer and Executive Directors across the region.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD :
Financial & Administrative Reporting: Provides administrative budget monitoring, invoice submission and expenditure review specific to Disaster Cycle Services program, trains and monitors volunteers performing this function to assure quality and accuracy. Develops and oversees maintenance and distribution of consistent regional operations processes and procedures for Disaster and External Affairs Departments. Advises appropriate officer on efficiency and procedural monitoring.
Facilities/Asset Management Oversight: Coordinates activities of the facility in regard to maintenance and meeting logistics. Develops skills as expert trainer and user of all media presentation platforms across the facilities and responds to requests for support of those applications.
Volunteer Supervision and Coordination: Provides direction and training to volunteers to handle the administrative transactions necessary for the business, ensuring that their efforts are well-coordinated with the strategic business goals. Evaluates volunteer performance. Plans work schedules, and assigns or delegates work daily or as appropriate.
Human Resources: Provides support for onboarding of department personnel, manages processes as needed including I9 and other administrative support functions. Serves as a liaison for staffing questions on administrative matters including the reconciliation of purchase and travel cards within Disaster and External Affairs department. Advising RCOO of training and support needs for staff learning administrative/self-serve functions of the organization.
The salary range for this position is: $25.56 - 26.25

If you live outside of NYC and are a remote employee, your salary may be different and based on your geographic location. Physical Requirements:
Depending on the work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential including sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
