Job Summary:
The Licensed Mental Health Counselor provides counseling and mental health support to FRCC student body. This position provides short-term, individual counseling, group counseling, programming, and crisis intervention to enrolled students, including planning, implementation, case management, and evaluation. This position works with the FRCC Behavior Intervention Team and the Department of Student Support, which provides comprehensive student success through behavioral intervention, resource connection, case management, and success planning. This position will require regular travel between the 3 campus locations and will require the ability to provide virtual counseling services.
You will have the opportunity to work remotely occasionally, but this position does require a strong on-campus presence and will need to travel to all three FRCC campuses.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Services
Provides short-term individual and group counseling to FRCC students.
Provides crisis intervention services, as needed.
Provides remote/virtual counseling when requested.
Conducts intake assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations to determine appropriate level of care and treatment planning.
Assesses students for risk of harm to self or others; completes safety planning and crisis intervention as needed.
Facilitates timely referrals to community mental health providers, psychiatric services, or higher levels of care when student needs exceed the scope of college counseling services.
When available, provides drop-in or same day de-escalation services for students in distress.
Consults with faculty, staff and campus partners regarding students of concern, following appropriate confidentiality guidelines.
Coordinates care with campus partners such as Disability Support Services and Student Support Services to promote holistic student wellbeing.
Maintains up to 21-25 hours of direct clinical services per week.
Adheres to professional ethical standards and Colorado licensure requirements.
Must possess and maintain a current license to practice in Colorado (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.) and be in good standing with DORA throughout employment; all licensure fees are the responsibility of the employee.
Education and Outreach
Maintains knowledge of appropriate community resources (e.g., training programs, social services, mental health services, etc.) for student referrals.
Provides outreach to faculty, staff, students, and guest regarding available services for students.
Participates in college-wide events to promote awareness of counseling services.
Represents FRCC Mental Health Counseling on college committees or task forces.
Stays current on best practices, emerging student mental health trends, and relevant legal/ethical developments, incorporating this knowledge into improving FRCC Mental Health Counseling services.
Supports college-wide crisis services and intervention response.
Administrative & Supervision
Provides clinical supervision to graduate student clinical interns.
Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with Colorado state law, FRCC policy, professional standards and FERPA regulations.
Participates in regular case consultation, supervision, and staff meetings as required.
Manages scheduling, caseload, and administrative workflow to ensure timely access to services for students.
Assists in the development, review and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
Ensures compliance with college, state, and federal regulations governing student records, confidentiality, and mental health services.
Cross Campus/Community Collaboration
Provides support for the FRCC Behavior Intervention Team for assessment of risk, as needed.
Requires regular travel between the 3 campus locations
Attends and actively participates in department, division, and college-wide meetings, and professional development activities.
Provides outreach programming and workshops on topics related to collegiate mental health which includes classroom presentations, staff presentations and collaboration with other campus partners to integrate mental health education into broader student success initiatives.
Collaborates with campus partners—including Advising, Disability Support Services, Student Support Services, TRIO, Case Management, and others—to coordinate care and promote student success.

Essential Functions
Serves as an advanced clinician in a forensic psychiatric hospital, serving mentally ill patients who have been determined NGRI or UST.
Conducts individual and group psychotherapy counseling sessions with patients.
Serves as adjunct member of all treatment teams, participates in treatment planning conferences and professional reports and reviews.

Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Clinical Psychologist for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois to serve as an advanced clinician in a forensic psychiatric hospital, serving mentally ill patients who have been determined Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) or Unfit to Stand Trial (UST). Administers, scores, and interprets psychological tests and writes comprehensive reports based on findings to request advanced court ordered privileges. Conducts group and individual psychotherapy. Makes diagnostic classifications and clarifications. Testifies in criminal and court hearings.
Essential Functions
Serves as an advanced clinician in a forensic psychiatric hospital, serving mentally ill patients who have been determined NGRI or UST.
Conducts individual and group psychotherapy counseling sessions with patients.
Serves as adjunct member of all treatment teams, participates in treatment planning conferences and professional reports and reviews.
Develops behavioral management plans for those patients who exhibit maladaptive behavior.
Serves on a variety of hospital and statewide committees.

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Psychologist II for the Kiley Developmental Center located in Waukegan, Illinois to conduct professional psychological services to individuals within the assigned caseload. Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Clinical Psychologist for the Elizabeth Packard Mental Health Center located in Springfield, Illinois to serve as an advanced clinician in a civil and forensic psychiatric hospital, serving mentally ill patients who have been determined Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) or Unfit to Stand Trial (UST). Administers, scores, and interprets psychological tests and writes comprehensive reports based on findings to request advanced court ordered privileges. Conducts group and individual psychotherapy. Makes diagnostic classifications and clarifications. Testifies in criminal and court hearings.
Essential Functions
Serves as an advanced clinician in a civil and forensic psychiatric hospital, serving mentally ill patients who have been determined NGRI or UST.
Conducts individual and group psychotherapy counseling sessions with patients.
Serves as adjunct member of all treatment teams, participates in treatment planning conferences and professional reports and reviews.
Develops behavioral management plans for those patients who exhibit maladaptive behavior.
Serves on a variety of hospital and statewide committees.

Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health & Recovery (DBHR) is seeking to hire a Clinical Psychologist for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois, responsible for communicating to treatment teams the results of, and will provide treatment recommendations based on: (1) administration of psychological assessments (intellectual, personality, and neuropsychological screenings) and/or (2) an assessment of historical and clinical risk factors. For those patients that are dually diagnosed as, or for whom a dual diagnosis of mental illness and developmental or intellectual disability is suspected, the clinical psychologist will communicate the results of intelligence testing to the treatment team, especially at the time of the comprehensive and/or annual treatment planning collaborations.
Essential Functions
Performs psychological assessments to address specific questions and/or purposes on an assigned unit.
Develops and implements behavior management plans to assist patients in the acquisition of new skills/adaptive behavior and the elimination or reduction of maladaptive behavior.
Assesses patients, forensic or civil, who is known or suspected to be dually diagnosed (MI/ID) for intellectual and adaptive functioning skills and provides professional reports upon admission or as soon as possible after any psychiatric or medical barriers to testing have been addressed.

Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health & Recovery (DBHR) is seeking to hire a Clinical Psychologist for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois, responsible for communicating to treatment teams the results of, and will provide treatment recommendations based on: (1) administration of psychological assessments (intellectual, personality, and neuropsychological screenings) and/or (2) an assessment of historical and clinical risk factors. For those patients that are dually diagnosed as, or for whom a dual diagnosis of mental illness and developmental or intellectual disability is suspected, the clinical psychologist will communicate the results of intelligence testing to the treatment team, especially at the time of the comprehensive and/or annual treatment planning collaborations.
Essential Functions
Performs psychological assessments to address specific questions and/or purposes on an assigned unit.
Develops and implements behavior management plans to assist patients in the acquisition of new skills/adaptive behavior and the elimination or reduction of maladaptive behavior.
Assesses patients, forensic or civil, who is known or suspected to be dually diagnosed (MI/ID) for intellectual and adaptive functioning skills and provides professional reports upon admission or as soon as possible after any psychiatric or medical barriers to testing have been addressed.
Conducts group and/or individual psychotherapy and documents treatment in the clinical record.
Testifies in criminal and/or mental health court hearings.
Provides facility wide professional trainings.
Serves as adjunct member of all treatment teams, participates in treatment planning conferences and professional reports and reviews making recommendations based on clinical expertise, testing and case reviews.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires current license as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Conditions of Employment
Requires the ability to meet the requirements for credentialling and privileging as a consulting member of the medical staff of Alton Mental Health Center within 30 days of employment.
Requires the ability to work within multiple interdisciplinary teams.
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
Requires the ability to obtain and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Requires ability to pass CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training within the probationary period including the physical ability to prevent injury to patient or others by restraining patients if necessary.
Requires physical ability to ambulate to various worksites throughout the hospital for administrative and clinical duties.
Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
