The Thermal Engineering team addresses thermal engineering design challenges of high-end switching products. Our team collaborates closely with the Electrical design and hardware validation teams to ensure the fulfillment of overall system requirements. As part of our team, you will be responsible for tackling all thermal design-related issues across various projects.
What You’ll Do
There are always thermal challenges in the product design. Thermal validation is required for each product and especially in the early design stage. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and is responsible for supporting our mechanical design team by conducting various designed lab verification tests and performing onsite assembly and disassembly of the prototype units.
Develop and execute test plans to measure thermal performance of heatsinks; repeated test needed for statistical data collection purpose

Compensation Information
The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $95,000 to $137,000. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Position Summary:
The Associate Director Bus Systems will oversee the design, integration, testing, and delivery into orbit of the SXM-9 and SXM-10 satellites, as well as provide in orbit support for the SXM satellite fleet.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Director Bus Systems will work closely with the satellite manufacturer to insure that SXM-9 and SXM-10 are built to the highest quality standards and meet all contract specifications. The Bus systems engineer will review and approve all test results, bus system budgets, and disposition manufacturing and test discrepancies. Additionally, the Bus engineer will support the SXM fleet on orbit fleet operations. This position will require travel and occasional off hours support.

Minimum Qualifications:

Develops and implements parameters, configurations, and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal performance, system power measurements & acoustics.
Supports product testing in the on-site dynamics, thermal, EMC, and safety test facilities. Includes physical set up as well as scripting and functional set up to support the test.
Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Leads or supports a project team of other mechanical hardware engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost-effective and high-quality solutions for moderately complex to highly complex products.
Represents the mechanical/thermal team to the broader partner team for all phases of the project.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
Minimum of four years’ engineering experience in electronics hardware or related field
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong understanding and experience in thermal design and analysis for electronics packaging, particularly high density, high power systems such as those in data center compute and networking applications.
Using Creo/Parametric or other parametric or history-based 3D CAD software as a mechanical design tool for the design of sheetmetal, plastics, PC assemblies, castings, heatsinks, etc.
Using CFD (FloTherm, IcePak) and thermal mock-ups to validate thermal solution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with detailed tolerance analysis and failure root cause analysis. Experience with FEA tools preferred.
Understanding of compute or networking system architectures, product integration, and familiarity with common components such as ASICs, connectors, high-speed IO ports, memory, fans, and power supplies.
Designing sheet metal, plastic, and metal cast parts and associated production tooling and processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification) Services, is looking for a Thermal Simulation Technician to join our Building and Construction team in Fridley, Minnesota.

From testing, inspection and certification services to building sciences solutions, the company delivers Total Quality Assurance to the built environment.
A Simulation Technician utilizes computer programs to model the heat flow through building components. These programs are useful tools for predicting heat loss through a product as well as surface temperatures for condensation evaluations. As a Simulator, you will work closely with our clients and will be responsible for client interaction and report submittals.
DUTIES:
Computer modeling of fenestration products
Perform thermal simulations using THERM and WINDOW computer software
Prepare accurate reports for assigned projects
Special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Basic experience with Auto CAD
Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Strong technical aptitude
Must be detail oriented
Good verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with clients and staff
Associates Degree in a technical field
Ability to understand local, state, national and international regulations as they relate to assigned projects is a plus
Working knowledge of heat transfer, architectural drawings and window systems is a plus
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
