The Greenpeace USA Supporter Mobilization Team brings together online and real world organizing expertise to focus on large, distributed, and scalable mobilization/organizing opportunities for Greenpeace supporters. This team considers all aspects of what it means to be a supporter of Greenpeace (donations, non-violent direct action, off-screen tactics and online tactics).
This team focuses on the lower (but not lowest) parts of the engagement pyramid: large, scalable actions. The team focuses on creating a community of volunteers and moving volunteers up the engagement ladder.
Manage and help build a community among supporters taking action via digital tools, social networks and our website
Design and implement systems (phone, email, text, social media, etc...) in which to communicate on a regular basis with potential and existing supporters.
Create and manage outgoing communication to our national volunteer audience
Develop, manage and implement webinars, trainings (digital and in-person) and speaker series.
Manage testing and segmentation, with support from digital skill lead
Seek out and test digital tools the Supporter Mobilization Team could/should be using
We're looking for someone who has:
Experience working with volunteers in a campaigning setting.
Demonstrated affinity for and ability to learn digital skills to engage supporters in taking action for a cause or organization
Strong writing skills, especially for a popular audience
Experience writing blast emails that spur people to take action
Demonstrated ability to create and analyze systems
Ability to think creatively and move quickly
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
Basic HTML/CSS preferred, but not required
Strong commitment to ensuring the organization is an equitable, diverse and inclusive space.
In addition, we need someone who can:
Create organized tracking documents (spreadsheets, etc.)
Work independently but collaboratively in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment
Run trainings and conferences using web-based presentation tools

As an integral member of the Major Gifts and Foundations team, the Grants Specialist plays a lead role in crafting the narratives that tell the story of the work Greenpeace is doing domestically and abroad. This individual will work closely with Foundations and Program staff to collect and analyze data on the performance of program activities and will use that information to produce highly engaging written reports for Greenpeace supporters, the Board of Directors and third-party funders. In addition, the Grants Specialist, in collaboration with the Foundations Relations Manager, is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for tracking deadlines and organizing programmatic information.
Furthermore, a key responsibility of the Grants Specialist will require working in collaboration with the Finance team - in particular the Grants Analyst - to ensure restricted funds management procedures are followed to facilitate compliance with donor intent and to promote practices that result in the greatest flexibility in long-term financial planning for the organization.
The Grants Specialist is a member of the Major Gifts and Foundations Team which is responsible for raising significant funds on an annual basis for the organization through securing five, six and seven figure gifts and grants from individuals and institutional foundations. The position reports directly the Foundations Relations Manager.
Specifically, the Grants Specialist will be responsible for the following:
? Develop accurate and well-written Letters of Inquiry, grant proposals, and grant reports in a timely manner for third-party funders and the Greenpeace Board of Directors; ? Develop a comprehensive understanding of Greenpeace's programs ? With Foundations Relations Manager, manage calendar of grant and reporting deadlines ? Coordinate with stakeholders to assemble budgets, graphics, program outcomes, etc. in an organized and timely manner ? In collaboration with the Foundations Relations Manager, ensure that the organization meets all grant deliverables ? Maintain up-to-date records of organizational information, including history, vision, theory of change, programs and funders ? Assist with additional copy-writing and editing as necessary ? Manage the restricted gifts and grants ledger with the Grants Analyst, ensuring it is up to date and that the funds are accurately allocated ? In collaboration with Grants Analyst, track spend down of restricted gifts and grants and prepare quarterly written reports (narrative and budgets) to be used for internal knowledge of staff as well as third party funders ? Assist with developing stewardship materials for foundation Program Officers and individual major donors ? In collaboration with legal team, ensure all written reports meet 501(c)(3) requirements before being sent third party funders or the Greenpeace Fund board ? Assist with other projects as assigned.

Ideal applicants will have the skill to gather, analyze, present and organize key programmatic information, and knowledge of institutional foundation best practices and philanthropic trends. They will also display strategic thinking, an ability to build systems, perform on tight timelines and take constructive feedback well and incorporate it.
Other required skills and abilities include:
? Demonstrated knowledge of Greenpeace programs and values. ? 5+ years grant or programmatic writing experience for a charitable organization. ? 3+ years grants administration experience ? Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to adapt writing style to meet the requirements of a diverse array of funders. ? Ability to navigate complex application processes, including complicated budget templates for funders. ? Strong time management skills and ability to work on several projects at once under tight deadlines. ? Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data from a wide variety of sources, and present the resulting information in a clear summary. ? Ability to develop effective working relationships with fundraisers, program staff, and ability to collaborate with finance team in tracking and monitoring grants.
