We advance our mission through public policy analysis, advocacy, and collaboration with partners to promote a patient-and community-centered health system.   Your Role We are looking for a high-energy Strategic Partnerships Campaign Manager to support projects and manage teams that advance Families USA’s work to advance policy changes in four core focus areas of health equity, coverage, health care value, and consumer experience. Central to this role is an individual’s ability to direct the advocacy strategy of a project/issue campaign, including applying a deep understanding of the stakeholder landscape and how to tactically navigate and activate various stakeholder segments at both the grasstops and grassroots levels. This individual should be familiar with ways to activate partner networks in a digital environment, bringing into this role former campaign or digital advocacy experience. This individual possesses good political judgement, is passionate about developing strong relationships with partners across the country, knows how to motivate colleagues and teams, and is adept at seeing the big picture strategy and stakeholder landscape, while simultaneously focusing on details to execute on key objectives.   Our ideal candidate will: Work with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and/or the Senior Director of Health Equity in managing partnership building functions in the Department and for assigned campaigns and projects, which includes partnership identification, outreach, tactical planning, nurturing/maintaining relationships at both the state and national level. Identify and implement new digitally driven methods for growing Families USA’s partnership base of national and state partners and building power for bold policy change among organizations and leaders working at the grasstops and grassroots levels. Lead and contribute to cross-functional teams in executing grant deliverables for various campaigns and projects, including developing advocacy and coalition-building strategies and implementing project plans, timelines, and budget. Track and analyze state-level trends/legislation/policy/politics (e.g., news scanning, web research, additional phone calls with partners and other stakeholders, etc.) related to the healthcare landscape, with a specific focus on assigned projects, campaign policy issues and health equity. Develop series of collateral including template letters to legislators, sign on letters, fact sheets, issue briefs, blogs, talking points, comparison spreadsheets, resource lists, and other products. Review draft deliverables from colleagues and junior staff to ensure high quality work products. Collaborate with the Communications team to generate email, social media, and web content that engages and mobilizes partner organizations in support of shared advocacy goals. Contribute to strategic planning and content development for events and activities designed to engage and activate state and national partners, such as content and partnership engagement ahead of the annual Health Action Conference. Provide technical assistance, public speaking, and occasional in-person travel (once it is safe to do so based on public health safety guidelines), related to specific campaign or project work.   Your Experience Bachelor’s degree in public health, communications or marketing, public administration, or related field with 2 to 5 years’ experience working for political or issue-based campaigns, non-profits, lobbying or consulting firms, and/or state/federal government.  A solid understanding of the health justice movement and health equity is a plus, as is campaign experience in a strategic, digital, operational, or field capacity.  Has a sophisticated understanding of state/local political dynamics and working with stakeholders to influence policy at the state/local level.  Exceptional research, project management, organizational, writing and oral skills with a proven track record with campaign organizing strategies, tactics and grassroots activation systems.  A passion for social justice and for the mission of Families USA.   Our Workplace We offer a dynamic, empowering, and collaborative work environment that allows staff to reach their full potential. This position leverages department’s administrative processes, systems, and project management experience to support these existing and new partnerships and other project-related tasks. This position works collaboratively with the various departments and with external coalition partners.    Our ideal candidate will: General Partnerships Duties & Responsibilities Support FUSA’s Partnerships team with a focus on cultivating and enhancing relationships with state and national partners. Provide administrative and logistical support for Partnerships team, which include capturing meeting notes, preparing materials, and assisting with webinars, blast e-mails, and ensure internal coordination on products/deliverables. Maintain internal database of national and state partners, as well as work with staff to analyze relationships to identify potential new partnerships to pursue as well as partnerships to deepen. Draft broad communications, including action alerts, newsletters, and blast emails to partners. Assist with the analysis of trends in partner participation and engagement by evaluating FUSA sign-on letters, webinar registrations/attendance, and other metrics to inform department’s strategy. Support with event/action planning, including with the annual Health Action Conference, and participation with FUSA’s state and national partners. Contribute to the development of a broad range of written materials, including: fact sheets, blogs, talking points, comparison spreadsheets, resource lists, and other products. Assist with the coordination of work with Communications, Federal Relations, and Policy departments to provide assistance and research for assigned projects. Track and analyze state-level trends/legislation/policy/politics (news scanning, web research, additional phone calls) related to project work and the broader healthcare landscape. Your Experience Undergraduate degree from accredited college or university and experience in a professional office setting, either through relevant internships or having assumed a similar role through a previous job.  Experience in administrative, relationship management or project management. General understanding of the political landscape and issues that are driving the health care conversation within Congress, states/governors, and as a part of upcoming elections.  Knowledge of customer relationship management databases (e.g., Quorum, MailChimp, etc.). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) and project management software.
